Call the police. I went through a similar problem and eventually had to call them as they wouldn't listen to me, security or the building manager how can you call the police if someone is walking in their own house with shoes on? it's annoying and inconsiderate but i am pretty sure it's not illegal.... Is it just shoes though? Perhaps OP needs to clarify It's shoes, music, phone conversation, etc, etc I feel like I live with them. But if someone had complain to me about the same, I would have, at least, taken my shoes off and put the music at a normal level. The problem is that there are 3 people, the father, the son and the girlfriend of the son, and they are the ones that are making noise. The father was very nice and lower the TV from day one. I am not used to deal with ill-educated, selfish and disrespectful people. GF of Son, now that is illegal ;-) Tell them it Is illegal to co-habit and if they don't quiet down you will report them <em>edited by sarahlou123 on 23/10/2013</em>

Hi everyone, Does anyone know of any nurseries in Jumeirah, Safa, Umm Seqeuim area that do a pick up service for after school services? My son starts FS1 in september and will finish school at 12.30pm so we will need a nursery to provide after care until 4pm. We can't afford a maid and driver. Thanks Assist.ae and Careem but they are expensive I have never come across any. Perhaps the other posters may know Fingers x'd Thanks Sarah. I'd heard that there were some nurseries that had a bus pick-up service to deliver after school children to their nursery. I've looked at assist.ae but they will only do it if a maid or nanny goes with them which defeats the object really. :-(

Salon Ink every time yep - totally agree; wont let anyone but Kelly touch my hair..... the other month a friend commented on my hair saying that people pay lots of money to get their hair like mine - i had to confess it was a salon ink job ;) I used to go to Kelly, you cannot pay enough for a decent hairdresser here.

Hello everyone. I want to try ombre style for my hair but not sure which salon to go to. I've heard about Ink and Jet set in emirates towers. I have always done my hair in Maria D but for some reasons want to change! I want some body very professional. Can you ladies recommend some where? Or have you had any experience in Ink or Jet set? Hi Ladies, My mother in-laws 30day visit visa is up tomorrow. She has a UK passport. I have been on the phone to Immigration and they have informed me I can renew with them for 660Dhs. What is the actual cost to new if I drive to the Hatta Oman Border and do it this way? I have done it myself but it was a few years ago. I am just wondering if I should just pay the 660Dhs instead of doing that journey? My EGate didn't work a few weeks ago on my way back in from Cyprus! So the fab man at the EGate upgraded me to the Iris system! So SO SO much easier than EGate card and fingerprints :) Mine never works in Term 2 but does in 3???

Something that I find really illogical since moving to Dubai. Why the chest x-ray? I know they are checking for TB but why not use medical records from countries that do routine vaccinations for TB such as UK. I cannot fathom why they would allow dogs to enter without quarantine based on a vaccination certificate signed by a UK vet but a Doctor cannot be trusted to certify a human has been vaccinated for TB. As for other nationalities they could consider one X-Ray and a vaccination scheme, keep the people healthy as well as not needing to expose everyone to unnecessary radiation. Just a thought. I have only had one done here in 7 years? If only it were that simple with regards to the medical records. Gaining access to peoples records internationally would be a minefield here

this is happening in Ghoroob too with DP, they've tried to increase the rent and now they're stating that all new contracts or renewals are subject to the tenant paying approx 7-10k per year for the chiller whereas it was previously included. we've only been here a year but they're saying that they won't renew our tenancy unless the chiller charge is paid upfront, it's just a rental increase by another name. we're screwed. edited by mogindubai on 22/10/2013 I would open a case with the rent committee. It has to be cheaper than the chiller charges/moving expenses.

I got mine in the Dnata Holidays building on SZR, Business Bay. And yes, children are not allowed an EGate until they are 18. Myself and both our children go through on my husband's egate When I came back in the Summer they made parents who had them but not the kids, go through the normal channels as the queues were too long. You have been very lucky if they let you all through. I have seen many turned away

Im not sure a partial number plate counts as someone's personal details seeing as there is nobody to link the number plate too. My number plate is out there for the whole world to see! I could post my neighbours number plate here and none of you would have a clue who he is, where he lives, what he looks like or anything else reltaing to him. You dont even know the car. You may be able to find out the make and model of it but thats not personal either I don't think you could even find out the make and model. Even if you went onto the RTA website and they person had fines it would still not give out the personal details of that person :-)

Interesting to see so many differing opinions! I don't have a maid I have a lifesaver that keeps my house in order allowing me to got to work and spend time with my kids afterwards. She has been given access to all the things we take for granted including TV with a cable package relevant to her dialog, Internet access and recently a tablet allowing her to Skype from the privacy of her room in the evenings or at weekends. I've even helped her download some music to play whilst she works hard in the house all day. I've never had to speak to her about not completing work, in fact she does much more than the tasks I originally gave her the responsibility of! It's not always a case of give someone an inch and they'll take a mile....... Sometimes you have to give in order to gain! I totally agree with your post. if it wasnt for our maid, I dont know where we would be. I buy her gifts, I take her with me for a massage sometimes for a treat etc. It is thanks to her that our lives are better so the least I can do is show her some kindness and be grateful, not begrudge wifi in the house which I already pay for anyway Like, Like, Like!!! As long as she doesn't abuse it then why not. People here are so lucky they can afford help at such a cheap cost.

Claude (salon director) and Joseph at the DIFC are both excellent stylists, so is Aysha at the Hyatt. How can you disagree with SarahLou's opinion that her hair colour was a mess and the cut lopsided.... did you see it? Each to their own but they made a huge mess of mine and don't get me started when they put my extensions in!

Kiwispiers - I concur. I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. Probably the same reason that Morrison in my area only stocks sugar free diluting squash . I have had argument after argument with customer services and they blithely just tell me it's healthier. NO way. If i ever accidentally give my kids sugar free food or drink they can taste it immediately. It's vile. Nothing wrong with sugar as long as it's in moderation and kids do a bit of exercise as well. I'm on my high horse lol but this sugar free myth is probably my most pet hate!! Sugar free and fat free tend to mean other nasty chemicals lurking We had nothing like this as kids and we turned out okay :-) I agree with your post, everything in moderation is okay

I highly doubt the RTA will give you personal details If you don't want to pay for it yourself then you will have to involve the police I'm surprised she didn't realise she had nudged your car As the OP stated it is illegal not to report it however many don't Good Luck

I live in Turia and have for many years. I rent and have never had a problem with any of the things you listed below. The walls in the bedrooms are quite thin and back onto others living rooms so if you have a noisy neighbor like mine was it can be disturbing. Security are fab, no issues with maintenance, pool so clean, my LL is trying to sell so I will be out of there soon I do not think there are any 1 bed plus study in my building, they are all 1 or 2 beds Rent is around 75-90 now for the new buildings, which is shocking but that's Dubai

Hi I am using Dr Jafar at the Jumeriah Beach Dental Centre which is in Jumeriah 1 opposite the Blue Mall on Beach Road. I am having a lot of work done and these guys are fantastic! You don't take the LL to court, it's handled by the Rent Committee. If you had to use the courts, the cost of bringing the case would massively outweigh the compensation you'd receive (which IIRC is a year's rent). And I believe you would get to stay 2 years in the property not 1. I was told that by the litigation team of a well known developer here How would that work if you'd already had to find a new home and sign a new contract before the new tenant moved into your old place? Oops I think he meant if you have to open a case against a LL whilst still in the property I am tired today sorry :-)

thanks for listening, just needed a rant. After taking a week off work I am glad to be back in the office for a rest! Am defo not going to let this happen again. Feeling very annoyed with myself, guess I just paid for stuff rather than having the awkward conversation to ask him to pay up or split the bill. My friends never expect me to pa for them they, they go grocery shopping, bring as much alcohol in as they can etc I always treat them to brunch at least once. One of my couple friends do my washing and ironing and the man does any DIY I need ha I had to make him a cooked breakfast every morning bcos he wont eat carbs. He wouldnt even make himself a cup of tea/coffee. I paid for the taxi's as he kept saying he didnt have cash. i drove him to an ATM to sort that out but on the way home each night he was drunk so asleep in the taxi which is why I ended up paying the bill at the bars also. Then he would be asleep when the takeout turned up! I got one drink out of ther bottle of Absolut, when it was empty he went to the bar and paid for his own drinks. thats where all my money went..... Sandance was a blast though, Killers were awesome. You made him a cooked breakfast OMG, I would say here is the cereal/toaster etc crack on! He sounds like a princess lol
