My friend had hers done in Belfast at a private clinic as they were having an initiative to keep waiting lists down. Her words about the surgery are no pain after surgery but starting physio after 6 weeks was brutal and she had to take painkillers before she went. She had both feet done at the same time which she said was better and has no regrets now they are gone. She was 37 when she had them done

Women being readily available for celebs or a bit of slap and tickle at work is one thing but a number of the cases involve young girls. Stuart Hall admitted groping a nine year old. NINE. I grew up watching him on Its a Knockout, terrible business

There is a reason it is called Barnasti haha ha ha... Pre 2008 it was a lovely hangout I was there a few weeks ago with friends from the UK, the looks on their faces said it all and we left sharpish. It was embarrassing to watch my fellow UK people staggering around at 5pm :-(

Dear Ladies, I have been suffering from bunions over 10 years now and they are gradually getting worse irrespective of wearing sensible shoes. Its hereditary and I see my mothers feet are in very bad shape due to this but she never opted for an operation. I really want to have surgery on both feet - scared to do it in Dubai as I dont know how good the docs and after care is..If anyone can recommend a surgeon or has or knows of anyone who had a recent bunion operation in Dubai, it will really help me as I rather go to someone tried and tested. Please help? Alternate is to do it back home in London, UK. Again if anyone has any experience in London, please let me know. I wouldnt consider any other countries as it would be too expensive and I would be by myself. All other comments or advise is really welcome if you have had surgery and are happy or unhappy..Its always good to get opinions...e.g. recovery time, scarring, post operation care and pain etc For me, I just want to be able to fit into normal shoes again and not have the discomfort. I dont live in heels but its also nice to be able to wear them once in a while. Thank you for reading My friend has hers done a few years back and she said it was the best thing she ever did I will try and find out where she had them done for you

Hi there are so many, but the habtoor hotel and beach club is fab... Especially for the kids there are several pools including a child pool, a water slide which really keeps them occupied the grounds are fab beach amazing several restaurants ie pizzeria Thai snack bar ice cream parlour. The kids activity club is brilliant just bear in my mind your car seats when leaving as the kids will be showing off some amazing body art. Showers very clean they even supply shampoo conditioner and lotion. Lots of staff on site plenty of lifeguards etc. we went 5 days in a row over Christmas and its far away from us so very happy. Otherwise I like the Dubai marine ( my local ) you won't get very far in that sort of money as habtoor is I think 100 Dhs per adult kids free under 6 but check it out. Enjoy. We went to the Habtoor 2 weeks ago and it was AED250 for Adults

Just saw some advertised 1.5 kg for AED95! Is that the usual price? I don't often eat meat at all but having guests over soon who only eat organic, where to buy it that does not cost an arm and a leg? Third Friday of the month there is 20% off at the Organic Cafe Do you know what original price? I do not buy it so sorry no. Their pork products are a similar price to waitrose, spinneys etc if that helps

I'm confused...are both the OP and her cousin in Dubai ?? I am confused too and why would you buy it in a mall and sell it here? The only reason Dubai would be a cheaper option to purchase it would be if you lived in Singapore or Australia as i believe makeup etc is more expensive than here

Can you sell items from home? I thought only Emirati people can do this for legal reasons( I may be wrong) I wouldn't and do not buy any branded makeup here as it is so much more expensive than the UK and US and we can all get it online here? Sarahlou123 is right - it is illegal to sell items from your home. You need a trade licence to retail in Dubai, plus a customs account to pay import duties and an online store or retail unit, plus a business address . Your cousin needs to think carefully before trading illegally, she could face a pretty hefty penalty... And if you annoy a customer she could grass you up to the authorities!

You can also buy the dusting powder here, that will help when you backcomb the ponytail to put around the donut Where do you get the dusting powder sarahlou and what brand is it? If you go into Roots salon in Barsha they sell the Jessica Simpson hair range, she sells so many accessories ( I have her ponytail) salon ink can get them too. They are fab for fine hair and you can play around with them. I plait them, fishtail them, side and back bun them. They cost around AED180 but well worth it and if i haven't washed my hair can just pop them in. Batiste dry shampoo is also good, you can spray it on, hold your hair upside down and blast at the roots

Di@DXB, you've missed the point... whether you think underpants are for boys or girls, the point is they're called "under pants"... as in worn UNDERNEATH something... the pants. It's like if they were called "undertrousers" you would assume it is the garment that is worn under the trousers.... My Mum called trousers slacks haha

Something that drives me batty is when people call shorts or trousers, pants Pants to the British ( who after all invented English ) are underwear. Imagine the embarrassment of a small English schoolgirl in an international school who was told to "just wear her pants " for games . I cried with shame for hours and it still haunts me. Just to stir the pot... Some of my British friends call underwear "Underpants". This would lead you to think that it is correct calling trousers "pants""... assuming that underpants go under pants. Yes because pants or underpants are the same thing in the UK. Pants are the ladies underwear and underpants are for men. In the US you say panties but you don't wear them over your outwear do you! edited by Di@DXB on 01/05/2013 Underpants were for boys but ooop north we called them knickers not pants Interestingly knickers is a shorted form derived from knickerbockers which was the original form of underwear back in time when it was a long underpant that reached the knee so I guess when they shorted the knickerbockers they abbreviated the word too! I had a pair of green coudroy knickerbockers when i was around 8 ( yuk) i thought i was the bees knees in those haha

As we all know some of us are suffering from hair loss here, sometimes I think I'm the only one. After putting my hair up in a pony tail last night I noticed how thin my pony tail looked. :-( I'm looking for a donut to kind of put some height and lift to my pony tail, i'm sure it'll look better than what it did last night. I also noticed ladies recently with very neat buns; how do they do that? Is that with this donut thing? :) #amateur Yes, go on youtube and it will show you how to do it I bought lots of accessories from Boots in the UK i have a fake ponytail and a messy bun You can buy them online although matching the colours can be difficult. They give volume to fine and thin hair. You can also buy the dusting powder here, that will help when you backcomb the ponytail to put around the donut

So I was a resident in Dubai, now moved to Qatar, not likely to be a resident there. If you dont belong anywhere, how do I get on with buying holiday insurance, hiring a car back home. Hiring a car would require a D/L although if you are not a resident of Dubai or Qatar but living in Qatar then that would be problematic as in the UK you have to show a D/L and if you do not live in the UK your UK D/L would be invalid

We just got some sept flights with BA for 1700 aed. (440 gbp) That sale is still on if you look on skyscanner.com. Not sure about the summer though. We check daily on there for sales, it shows all airlines inc. emirates, Qatar and etihad, though they are never the cheapest. We are now looking for nov flights but that are all still showing 3000 aed plus. (Dubai-uk) 440gbp is not AED1700 more like AED2420

Even if the doors opened at 5pm, some fanatics may be in line as early as possible just so they can have a good spot. We'll never know. It's better to get there early but you have to wait in line til the door opens. I'm not sure if it's allowed to bring a chair inside since the guards will check all your belongings. I haven't seen anyone brought a chair before. Maybe the bleachers on the side will be open for seating. It really depends on the organizers and the venue. Usually concerts like this finish at 12 midnight tops. I have seen people carry the shooting stick style folding chairs at concert Lots of parents had them at JLo and Bruno Mars. They were not in the fan pit part tho ;-)

Lots of 1 and 2 bedroom townhouses in JVT listed on Dubizzle for 130,000-140,000. Why would you want/need 4-5 bedrooms for just yourself? Are you planning to share again? Maybe you want to rethink that option... Why not a 1 bedroom flat with a large patio for your plants? You could get a nice 1 bed in Greens, JBR, JLT or the Palm for well within that budget. I would love to have a 4-5 bedroom villa in Jumeirah, too, but despite being a 2 income family, that's just not realistic for our budget. We've found a flat that works for our family. Not ideal, but realistic. Needs versus wants. A decent one bed in the Greens is AED75000 per year some are up to AED85000 in the newer buildings

My daughter and I are going to the concert Saturday. All her friends are arriving around 2 or 3 because they say the lines to get in and get a good spot will be long. My question, is it going to be standing room only?? Can I bring my folding chair? I am nervous I will not be able to stand all that time and in the heat! How long do the concerts usually last? I know I cannot last standing in the heat for 8 hours! In the middle of 7 days newspaper there is a map of the entire concert it shows the entire layout Concerts usually last 90mins max

The rents have increased like crazy and the situation is getting really scaring. Who should still be able to afford these rents here in Dubai??? Any has tips or other helpful feedback? Does anyone know a landlord who is renting out? Any help is highly appreciated as I have to vacate my actual home by end of may and in case I do not find anything matching I will not have another chance than leaving the country :-( Thanks. go on www.propertyfinder.ae

I'm flying back to the UK with Air France, via Amsterdam. Looked at Emirates, Etihad, BA and the prices were just ridiculous. So did a bit of homework and Air France was the best option. Best times, best connections, etc. BUT - here's the funny part - the flight going to Amsterdam is operated by Etihad, and the flight coming back is operated by KLM. Not an Air France plane in sight! And just for the record - when oh when is Etihad going to start flying to Edinburgh? I heard a rumour ages ago that it was in the pipeline, but so far, nothing. I emailed them to ask and they didn't even have the courtesy to reply. It would be such a popular route with all the Scots living in the M.E. I flew AF at Xmas and i have to say it was the worst flight i had ever been on The plane was so small, old, seats ridiculously cramped, food and service was awful We had KLM on the way back and that was so much better I flew Air France as well and it was awful lol. CDG airport is a mess, my entertainment didn't work on the flight and the staff wasn't very nice either. Add to that a rather large person next to me leaning against me as he slept. But that ofcourse has nothing to do with AF.. I got up once to go to the loo and had to wake the guy up next to me, needless to say he was not amused however we were squashed in on a 4 seat row so i had no choice.

Do they mean 20kg plus 10kg carry on perhaps? don't know - she said 30 kgs baggage allowance - I don't think there's a weight for carry on, just 20 kgs in economy... For carry on it says handbag/briefcase, coat, umbrella and duty free shopping lol I have just had a look and 30kg is for business class passengers
