I'm a 17 year old who is obsessed with fitness but I'm also a university student who has a student's allowance and my parents can't really afford a gym membership in Fitness First (3,799/year) and their ladies one in Uptown Mirdif is the one i've visited a few times since I am not comfortable working out around men, Does any one know of a Gym or studio that provides group fitness classes or any thing of the sort for cheaper? Preferably a place that has Kick boxing, yoga and body toning programs? I would appreciate any help! Core Direction does classes only they are in the Marina however the classes are mixed

Dear all, I am a young single lady from London, looking to relocate to Dubai. I have done a lot of research into the costs and where is good to live etc. However, I was looking to flat share at the outset to reduce costs and hopefully meet more people! Is it commonplace to flat share in Dubai and if so where would I find potential flat mates? I'm struggling to find any websites/ forums. Also, where would you recommend a young single lady live in Dubai in order to meet new people and get the most out of the place? Thanks in advance for your help. Naima Hello It is common but illegal to share with a non family member I think this does apply to villa and apartment shares ( I am sure someone will correct me if wrong) Most single people live at the Marina, The Greens, Jumeriah Lakes Towers, Downtown Dubai Mall

What can a person on husbands visa, British national, expect for a part-time role in Finance for roughly 15-20 hours per week. I remember ( if my memory serves me correctly) seeing a thread on here a while back, when someone was offered a part-time job for Dhs6000 (?) but I can't find it anywhere Thanks in advance I recently filled a temp finance role. It is fulltime and the salary was AED15000 per month I hope this is a rough guideline for you Part time admin roles tend to pay on average 6-7 so i would like to think an admin role would pay slightly more

Hi I'm looking at moving to Dubai in 6 months and just wondered people's opinions on where to live and the following areas, will be moving with my husband, 3.5 year old son and a newborn. Aribian Ranches The Greens The Lakes The Meadows The Speings Thanks I live in the Greens It is quiet, clean, very well maintained, close to shops, metro, mall, green! Our security guards are helpful, fantastic and very protective of me which is sweet. Most of the area is apartments however the pools and common areas are nice and there are parks for the children I have lived in 4 areas of Dubai and have to say this is my favourite so far. If i were to move to a villa i would go to the Ranches, Lakes or Meadows This is my only my opinion tho!

Hello everyone! I have my mum visiting next week and I want to take her to a nice restaurant on Thursday night but somewhere that is also a bit different so Dubai can impress her! I have heard there is some where in the marina where you can sit at a live cooking station does anyone know the name or anywhere similiar?? We are having dinner by the fountains Friday so any other suggestions would be great! Thanks :) Is it Rosso at Amwaj? I have been there but sat outside

I bought some items online from RI, they deliver here and are usually pretty quick getting here This time the parcel took 8 weeks so i called them, cancelled the order, they refunded back to my C/C in 3 days and i got a visiting friend to bring the parcel which i had reordered again Once the parcel did turn up i got my friend to take it back to the UK with her and she posted it They called to say they had it and thank you. CS at it's best :-)

wow...I didn't realise this would cause so much controversy. I'll just ask friends and family and see if they can recommend anyone. I am not trying to cause controversy and personally don't care if you find someone. I was advising on why you may not get any reponses to this post :-)

Well, I had a last minute cancellation with Ali at Salon Ink the other day as she was ill, was just parking the car outside when they called. I had already waited nearly 4 weeks for the appointment, now have to wait another 3 weeks to reschedule. It's happens in the best of salons. Complain to Kelly or Sharon regarding this they have a website and FB page

Had an appointment with the hairdressers the other day, got there and was told she is not coing in till later and since she was fully booked the rest of the day could not fit me in later on that day. I had gone out specially for that appointment and just wonder why they could not have called me to let me know my appointment was cancelled, no explanation and clearly they knew already she was not appearing when I walked in. They always call me without fail to ensure that I will be keeping the booking. Obvioulsy no priority for client's convenience, Would you go back to a place that did this to you? I'm really a bit annoyed. Also while I'm on the subject can anyone recommend a hairdresser who can actually find me a new style that suits my face and age, not just someone who cuts or trims what I have already? edited by Di@DXB on 14/04/2013 Ali at Salon Ink Donna at Roota Barsha Thanks will give Donna a try, I think that's the nearest to me :) Tell her Sarah recommended you I use her and have for a long time with no issues

They've been upgrading their systems and I received two emails about it -the latest was last week. They said certain accounts, including mine, would be inaccessible for a while, so you're probably included in this too. I never redeemed for flights, but I have redeemed for other vouchers and never had a problem. I got the same info Have only used them for high street shopping as you need to collect alot to buy anything decent

HI Sarahlou123, That's strange because I've had friends in the past who have had lessons for their children in their own homes? Surely if you're a qualified swimming instructor it doesn't matter where the lessons are held? Unless they have their own business licence to do this it is illegal Most people are probably doing this as a sideline to earn cash edited by sarahlou123 on 14/04/2013

How can you make that call? Recruiters have different specialties. For example, If I was in IT, I wouldn't be looking at Chaterhouse, but if I was a banker, I sure would. Not all do, i have been doing it for 7 years and cover everything including the above:-)

I'd like my 14mth to begin swimming lessons. As I work full time I think my best option is to have private lessons at our villa on a Saturday morning. Can anyone recommend a qualified teacher? I'd also be willing to share the lessons if anyone else was interested? thx I do not think you will get many responses as i do not think someone coming to your house to give lessons is legal Sorry

we always do something when its someones birthday in the office, normally a cake and lunch. I think its different here, i always feel sorry for my nanny as she has no family here to celebrate with, the first year she didn't even tell me it was her birthday. I always give my nanny a card with some money or vouchers and let her take the afternoon off. Like :-)

Could anyone help me. I need to go and see a doctor ( probably just a GP ) quite urgently for gynaecological problems. Hwever, I.ve not lived here long and have no idea where to go, and how you go about getting an appointment. I have comprehensive insurance, and the insurance company have said I can pick the doctor and medical centre etc Can anyone recommend anyone? I live in the marina, and would prefer to go to someone as near as possible as I.m not feeling that well. Thanks You will probably have to go to a Gynae. Dr Andrea on Al Wasl is mine and she is the only one i trust

Hi Ladies, I couldn't agree more, i have been looking for a job for almost 6 months now, and i am also willing to go full time, but its just so difficult to find something, i have almost 6 years of HR Management experience, and still nothing, Recruiters will call, ask if you like a job and never update you. I work in HR and recruitment and we never left a candidate hanging. Good Luck SQ, and good luck to all. Chirine The reason they will do this is because clients will not give a reason as to why you were not shortlisted. If agencies had to call candidates each time they were not shortlisted they would never get any work done I will try and advise that if you do not get a call back in 7 working days you have not been sucessful however no matter how many times i tell candidates that they still call me 3 weeks down the line to check on their status.

Hi Ladies, I was browsing the news today and then I came across this article (http://www.emirates247.com/entertainment/celebrity-gossip/fat-to-fit-aishwarya-rai-bachchan-gets-in-shape-finally-2013-04-09-1.501796) I was quite shocked by the "raw" description given of this actress weight loss. I think some people should definitely take some lessons of "good manners" or at least try to be a bit more diplomatic when talking about "oddles of fat" ! if he was trying to compliment her and comment her weight loss, this is not really the right way to do it. I just hope that this so-called journalist doesn't use the same language when talking face to face with women in general ! I think he would get quite a response! I read this and said the same thing!

Good Morning Would just like to enquire whether any of you have had a job offer from the above Company by email with no interview or heard of a scam about this ? All seems very strange for a Company to send out an employement offer with no interview. No payment requests yet but instructed to contact a specific lawyer to arrange work/residence. Interested to hear if this is definitely a scam. The scams tend to do everything by email, i remember a company in Africa doing this several years ago. Any professional employer would contact you via the phone not send an offer without an interview. Why isn't the lawyer contacting you directly, why do you have to contact them? It sounds fishy and most probably is

Just this weekend I saw 5 huge road accidents involving 2 or more automibiles. They really need to lower the speed limit. 120-140 kph is way too fast for the amount of cars on the road now. It was fine 10 years ago but as the population is rising, the speed limit should decrease. Back home in Chicago the highway speed limit is 55 and you can go at 65, which is 100 kph. Going from here to there it seems slow but it's definitely more safe and you can keep the car in control. I agree however people do not care, i have lost count of the amount of people i have seen at the registration place handing over wads of cash for speeding fines. It isn't just the speed limit however the drivers of the UAE have been talked about constantly on this forum and until the police start clamping down and are given the powers to do this then nothing will change

I am not sure but when we came here we had propane cylinders and we drove down to that place in Karama regularly. Eventually got sick of it so just called the gas guys here and they changed the fittings and now we use the orange bottles. It burns a bit hotter than propane but soooo much more convenient. The fittings on the bbq were able to be changed in minutes- it was no big deal. Did you just ask the guy in the orange gas van to change the fittings on the BBQ itself? Thanks Sue
