Has she spoken to the neighbor directly? If not, try this first then contact the LL and if that fails call the Police. I had to do this two years ago and after 6 months of speaking with the building security, the neighbor ( Very politely) I had to call the Police who came out to speak with them and it stopped Good Luck!

I started with Etisilat pay as you go. I am now with DU on contract and got a free Iphone 6. I pay AED350 which includes the handset, 100 international minutes/100 local minutes/100 international texts/100 local texts and 10GB of data. I have to have the contract for 2 years but it suits me fine as I was spending much more on PAYG

Hi My sis in law is visiting. She's in her late 20's and would really like to go to a ladies night in Dubai. Any recommendations for a place that has a few free drinks and great atmosphere/music? Somewhere that also always men too as my hubby will be joining us! Do you have to make reservations? We are looking to go on a tues night as it's the only one we have free. I am fair skinned and have spray tanned for many years...however it isn't a regular weekly treat as it fades quickly and can look patchy, not ideal when going to the gym everyday either for me. The only cream gradual tanner i have found to be even in tone is the Dove brand. I cannot find Dove here (the gradual tanner cream) so i order online or bring back from Australia when i visit. I use one by Garnier ( Orangey bottle)it is also a gradual tanner and moisturizer, it smells divine. You can get it at home ( UK) and maybe Australia It gives you a lovely golden even tan. I apply it every day and it comes out quickly I find the dove smells a bit funny

NOC no longer exists in Dubai It is all based on education and salary now limited contract will give an employer a 6 month ban if they leave before 2 years however most contracts are unlimited therefore no ban Providing you have a high school diploma ( Need to earn more than 8000) or Bachelors need to earn more than 12000 then no ban

You should definitely not put it off for ever. I said I would never drove here and after 3yrs I finally got a car and now I drive everywhere.[b'> I still dont know where I am going and dont know what I would do without google maps.[/b'> Face your fears, its not that bad once you get used to it. Trust me if I can drive here anyone can This made me laugh!!!! Same, except been driving here 5 years and I still have to map-check most places I go! I used to get a little nervous heading to new places, or when I would wind up on an unfamiliar highway with no turnaround in sight. For anyone nervous about getting lost, I recommend always having at least a half full tank, that'll sort it out. As for the craziness, you get used to it, your senses sharpen with traffic. @Sarahlou, Friday mornings are still my favorite time to drive. Rarely go out Thrs nights so I can sort out my errands when it's dead on the roads :) I am exactly the same. I am usually outside C4 at MOE waiting for them to open at 9am I love how the roads are first thing. Thursday night is still a school night for me so rarely go out either. ( I fall asleep by 9am)

My learning to drive here came as a result of the driver having a panic attack in the middle of Deira when a fire engine came by. It was a matter of taking the bull by the horns and just getting over the fear, I never looked back. I wish I had done what Sarahlou did and went out early to navigate my way around. I had a post it note GPS haha. Directions on a post it note stuck to the steering wheel I had to navigate JAFZA on a daily basis which helped I'm lucky I have an innate sense of direction which drives my hubby nuts because he has a degree in map making. I also have a sixth sense for locating shopping centres and finding car parks, also drives my DH nuts. :lol:

There is a great app on Iphone called Waze. I find it so much better than Google Maps and the lady talks to you :-) It has been foolproof for me to go to areas in Deira/Al Quoz and Bur Dubai

sarahlou123, I hoped that you answer as I like always your recommendations. The line is deep:( and I have it for many years but always hated it I don't have the frown line but my friend did and at first tried botox which eased it a little. She then used Restylane and it disappeared completely.

Our old Army quarter had nasty tiles ( They were very 1960's) we bought fablon to cover them and it came off very easy with no mess. I don't know if you can buy fablon here. Try Ace hardware. much easier than paint

I would like to get my frown line reduced and looking to get hyaluron injections instead of Botox. Can someone recommend a good doctor and if you have done it before speak about experience and perhaps price range. TIA Isn't it the key ingredient in Juvederm or Restylane? How deep is your frown line? I have had fillers here and used Dr Jaffar Khan and DR Allen Rezai in the past. Both are very good but expect to pay AED2500. Results are immediate

I've never stopped exercising for periods, the endorphins released when you work out really help with cramps and grumpiness even if it can be a bit (or lot!) more of an effort to make yourself do it. It would be a lot of missed exercise time if you stopped during your period. It helps my mood too. I feel a lot better if I do go during my cycle

I use must have maintenance ( used them yesterday) and they were great. Like most firms they will charge 200 for the first hour then 150 for every hour after that. I have never come across any cheap guys who did a decent job

You don't have to officially inform the LL however most tenants do call out of courtesy As the other posters said just call and say you want to renew. The contract will automatically renew anyway unless you said you wanted to leave.

I have thick straight hair and want to curl my hair for a night out but within 40 minutes my hair is back to being straight! Can anyone recommend a product to buy to help curls last a little longer? TIA! GHDs and heated rollers are the only ones that keep my curls in place I have very fine hair so they drop quickly. I can wash my hair the same day and curl and they stay. I curl then pin them up, spray them with hairspray then only take the pins out when I leave

I didn't care for this gal's voice from the first promo, and I now turn their show off where I used to listen frequently. Voice is very important in radio -- in my opinion. Also we had a few mentioning that they currently are on their husband visa. Is that legal (live out)? Thank you all for your help and feedback. On Husbands visa no they aren't legal They have to be sponsored by you or on an agencies visa I cannot help with process or cost though sorry

Has anyone ever had Amazon (.co.uk or .com) deliveries sent to the UAE? If so, what do you find to be the most cost effective way to do it? I'm trying to work out whether to order with Shop and ship or to use Amazon's own service (which I'm finding a little pricey). I find that Amazon, unsurprisingly, has much better prices for so many things than buying it here! Any insight would be greatly appreciated! x I have had books/CDs and DVDs delivered. I believe both Amazon and Aramex will calculate the cost of shipping on their websites so you can compare costs Aramex can be expensive if what you are ordering is heavy and Amazon will not ship certain items here

You don't need to have anything official to move out. Just make sure you get your deposit back haha I have been shifting stuff myself then have the movers in to do the heavy lifting, maintenance work ( Plumbing in washing machine, hanging pics, reassembling furniture etc) I then have cleaners in to do the old place. You need to apply to DEWA for the final bill when you move. They will raise this and 2 days later you pay it and give a copy to the Landlord Thanks! Good luck with the move and mind your back! I am in the same boat. Moving from The Views to The Greens For the new property you need to apply for a moving in form from Emaar You need to apply for this 5 working days before you move in For the new place you need the following Ejari for the new place. Now I had problems trying to obtain the Ejari before the contract date. The Land Department would only let me apply for this once the contract has started. Original Tenancy contract Final Bill from previous tenant or receipt that the DEWA has been set up for the new place Title Deed from the Landlord Emirates ID, Passport copy and visa of tenant Emirates ID, Passport copy and visa ( if applicable ) of Landlord You can do it online but it costs over AED400 I went to the Land Department opposite Al Noor Metro station and it costs AED185 They open at 8am so go at 8am ( it is quiet then) Once you have the Ejari you can register for the Emaar moving form http://media.emaar.com/pdf/24072012/Move-In-Out-Form.pdf ( Docs you need are on the link) Before you submit the form, call Emaar and ask if there are any outstanding service fees on the property. For this you need the LL full name and the address of the new property. Open an Aramex Shop and Ship account then shop online to your hearts content at stores that will cater for your height I don't think we have many shops along the line of "Long Tall Sally" here and even M and S only go up to a 33 inside leg here Good Luck!

Wow, they must have lots of holidays. We only get 5 weeks per year so assuming not a single day off for two years I could only amount to 4 months and a bit. Hoping to hear from someone that has more :) Aside from the 22 days holidays and 45 for maternity the rest has been unpaid

Hello, I am hoping you can all help me. I am trying to present a case to my company to improve our maternity policy I am trying to find out, which are the best policies in other companies in Dubai as they do seem to think we are amongst the best. So I am looking to hear about any companies that offer more than 60 calendar days maternity leave, paid or unpaid. TIA Most if not all I have worked with give 45 days as per the law however can give unpaid at their discretion. I know several ladies who used their annual leave plus 45 days and took up to 6 months off

I normally go to mall, window shop and try different stuff, and whatever I like or find reasonable I purchase that. Lately, I have found "expensive" cheap quality cloths in many branded stores. Really, why do we pay so much for name? At the same time, I get 3 different quotes for same type of facial with a statement, "madam, that's more expensive brand". Talk about hair treatments, it ranges from 149 to 3000 Dhs. Seriously ???:thinking: I find clothing in Dubai versus the UK/US much more expensive The sales here can be good but there is always limited stock and usually tiny or huge sizes left Case in point I recently bought a skirt/dress/trousers from River Island through my shop and ship account. The total cost ordering from the UK including shipping was AED620. If I had bought the same items here it would of cost me AED869 so AED240 cheaper. I rarely buy in Dubai now. Labels or named brands have always cost more as you are paying for the name not necessarily the quality.
