You could try Green Curve as they are an Interior Design company so would project manage the whole thing. I know what you mean about the tradesmen with the carrier bag and 'no idea' expression. I needed some help with changing the cupboards slightly in our kitchen following the installation of a new oven and had to tell them how to do it! If I had some tools it would have been easier to do it myself! I think the guys I posted about do some carpentry but I cannot vouch for them If you call and ask for Paul he may be able to advise you

Possibly the best thing I've read all week and great advice. It takes small changes, lifestyle changes and TIME. I think he proves that there really is no quick fix. And look he went from blob to hot! He looks great in the after picture!

Thanks for all your responses. Will get Mustela cream. I make my own yogurt at home so will make sure he eats that. Do you think I should see a dermatologist? The doctor DS is seeing now is a second opinion and highly rated. She has not mentioned steroids and I am sceptical about trying that. natural approach is always better for me... Have you taken him to a GP for a 2nd opinion?

I found this post on a thread yeah... permissions are required for sure... but the only way to get over this is to have it in a more private/residential park... some of the smaller parks in mirdiff / barsha / nahda are quite good with this... and all u really need is to go speak to the security guard in advance

I believe they only ask for the passport that has/will expire. They also ask for the original of any current passport of a different nationality that you may have (which I thought was a ridiculous request). In terms of payment, I paid for mine online using my husband's credit card and we have different surnames. For dual nationality a copy of the other passport is required. Only if there are any queries will they then ask for the original. Which I probably wouldn't send as this is like sending it to the "enemy" ;) Lol agree! Although when I sent mine last year it said original passport for a dual nationality, or we will accept a copy in extenuating circumstances. I hope they have changed it as I read numerous threads of people objecting to having to send off a passport from a different nationality! I'm not really sure what the rationale on it is. I've just done my son's and a copy was enough. I reckon they probably want to see the visa stamps in case you are going to dodgy countries. I don't have dual nationality. Thanks for your replies

if I remember correctly, e-gate is a paid facility whereas smart gate (but only works for T3 for now) is free as long as you are registered and a resident (and having some privileged passports listed on their site). Smart gate registrations are on a roll now (i guess their campaign) and we had a chance to have our infos as residents registered last week at Deira City Center. You need your passports ready and the Emirates ID card tho. I saw that online in the newspaper but it said only up to 18.02.2015???

Hello i just want to warn others to stay away from giving awok.com any custom. They are dishonest and I have since reported them to the police. I spent 2500aed on the galaxy note 4 which did not work. They refused to return or sort out the matter. I have since seen various other complaints for damaged goods sold as new. Awful customer service and there is nowhere you can go speak to them face to face (they refused to tell me their location after 2 months of phone calls got me nowhere). Please do not waste your time or money on them. Have you complained to the retail people is it DED ( or something like that) they take things like this very seriously http://www.consumerrights.ae/en/Consumers/MakeFormalcomplaint/Pages/default.aspx

Get the egate at the Dnata centre on Shk Zayed rd, it's easy enough. Don't bother with the Smart gate - only available on arrivals at T3 and only for certain passports. I wasn't sure about that one so thanks for posting :-)

The E Gate card isn't "New" You can get them at the E gate counter at the airport or at DNATA on Sheikh Zayed Road You can register at Terminal 3 for the smart gates but I don't think these are operations at T1 and T2 yet edited by sarahlou123 on 17/02/2015

My husband has just changed jobs and we were due to travel to South africa for a wedding next week. However my son and my visas have been put on hold until my husband gets his visa. He already has the visa page and he is just waiting for stamping but our visas have not been processed yet and the process has yet to be started. Is there a way that we can still travel to South Africa? What nationality are your passports?

No its not on the actual ticket. For the API. I havent received the new passport yet just trying to find out if it is possible to do. I assume as the OP said you can change it online when you have the new number I think they are more concerned if the PP is valid and hasn't expired

A phone is like a vacuum cleaner, it's a necessity of life. It's not a special gift that says "I love you more than money" Why on earth would you need a special gift in order to know that your husband "loves you more than money". Surely that's a given? Would you still love your husband if he was unable to give you expensive gifts? Do [i'>you [/i'>love [i'>him [/i'>more than money? On a separate note...did anyone hear the woman on the radio last week bragging about the gifts her boyfriend bought her, when asked if she would love him if he didn't have the money, her answer was "I don't know I am very self-centered". Unlucky for her, her boyfriend overheard her calling in, and ended their 2 and a half year relationship, right before he was planning to propose to her at the Burj Al Arab on Valentines Day. Her reaction: "do I still get to keep the Porche you bought me for Christmas??"!!! DH and I heard this on the Kris Fate(?) show and missed the final outcome. What a self centred woman and the poor British guy was just driving into the DIFC when called! Talk of Dubai last week no doubt.... They had him back on the next day. They were doing a segment on the best and worst gifts you had ever received. The woman called in as anonymous, but said that her boyfriend had bought her a brand new Porche for Christmas and last Valentines Day bought her two pairs of Louboutins worths 24,000Dhs each. She was asked at the end if she would stay with him if he didn't have the money, to which she replied that she was self-centered and didn't know. The guy was driving into work and heard this. He said he never listens to that radio station but she was driving his car the night before and had it on so he heard her call in and put two and two together. Poor guy was devastated, said his sister has told him before that she was that type but he didn't believe her, until he heard her on the radio. He said he was gonna have a serious chat with her that night and he was cancelling his Valentines Day plans. The next day they had him back on and he said that he had ended his relationship with her. He had booked a suite at Burj Al Arab for two nights and was planning to propose to her on Valentines Day. Poor guy, he sounded so upset, but glad he got rid of her because she sounded awful. He dodged a bullet ;)

Can anyone suggest areas to look at for a 3 bed preferably 4 bed villa for a family of 5 - budget up to 200k but would prefer 180k. I am yet to travel to dubai. Husband will be starting a job in April and me and 3 children will arrive in December. As far as schools go we have looked into eis and uptown in mirdif as they have spots for our children. We are thinking the springs or nearby. Any suggestions of what sites to look at would be great. Does anyone have a preference of real estate agent to go through or should I go direct to landlord? Many thanks edited by Oceanview on 17/02/2015 Finding a LL directly isn't the easiest but I can be done You can get an idea of areas and prices on justrentals.com propertyfinder.ae Make sure that the real estate agent is RERA certified and has this displayed in their office

Most of the toy shops were sold out last week, I think because of the recent kite festival. We found a huge one for our son in Dragon mart 35 dhs, it flies really high , easy to use he loves it, his friend got one from decathlon 80dhs more complicated, he couldn't get it off the ground. We were at Kite Beach a few weeks back and it was so nice seeing all the kids flying them. Reminded me of being young again and being out with my Grandfather flying our kite at home :)

Thank you both. I never considered a garden apartment! I thought you could only get a villa with a garden! It's only my first day here from UK, so forgive me!!!!!! Price isn't an issue I just don't want to spend everything on 'living large!' I was in the States for 8 years and would always get a huge 3 bed/bath house even though it was just me and the animals! Decided to get practical in Dubai!!!!!!! Is the Springs ok if you don't drive? I'll certainly look at the Greens. Of course, Marina is out with animals (shame!). The Greens is very pet friendly and there is a dog park too

HI, I AM NEW TO DUBAI AND JUST MOVED HERE FROM THE UNITED STATES. I HAVE BEEN CALLING AROUND PLACES IN DUBAI FOR BOTOX PRICING AND IT SEEMS LIKE EVERYONE CHARGES PER AREA INSTEAD OF PER UNIT. IN THE UNITED STATES I ONLY PAID $10-12 PER UNIT AND ONLY GOT 20 UNITS. DOES ANYONE HAVE A CONTACT FOR BOTOX HERE IN DUBAI? I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT! THANK YOU. It is really expensive here. Prepare to pay anything from 1500-1800AED for full face Stay away from the cheap places as they use watered down stuff The only 2 surgeons I have used here are Dr Rezai at Dubai Healthcare City. He uses Allergan Dr Khan who uses Dysport which is the best one I have mine done when I visit home as it is half the price of the UAE Hi, Sarahlou. Is Dr Rezai any good? Where is he in dhcc? Where is home? How much cheaper is it? Thanks. Hi Dr Rezai is lovely and he is at Dubai Healthcare City. THey have offers on throughout the year but be prepared to pay around 1500 for full face. If its cheap then they are using the weak, watered down stuff! Google DR Allen Rezai and you will find him

It's getting pants reviews, because of the lack of er things that are in the book. what did you expect? Porn? Well the original screenplay was very steamy apparently, but the studios toned it down for a wider release. To make anything resembling the books it would need to be R rated. It should have just been left at the books really. Should've been left in her head really. Good Luck to her, she has made a fortune from them :-)

purchase on itunes on your computer. Then turn on your apple tv- make sure it is using the same wifi as your laptop. on iTunes on your computer, click on file- home sharing-turn on home sharing. then on your apple tv from the menu click look for your computer - it should show up- click on it and then you will see your entire iTunes menu from your laptop. Then play. I think you may need to make sure home sharing is "on' on the apple tv too- I can't remember if that is needed but check in the menu for that option on the apple tv menu. Note laptop must stay on and open or the feed will die. My kids kill me because we will be in the middle of a movie and I forget and close my laptop and have to start again. Note the movie plays on the tv, not on the laptop. Do not click on the movie on your laptop or it will play on your laptop- you just need to access your laptop iTunes menu on the apple tv and click play from there.(as above). good luck! ps we have MacBooks so it is seamless - not sure about PC's. Can you use a UAE credit card for say a UK ITunes account though?
