Hi there - re maids: I have heard that some people have live-in maids who are already sponsored by a Qatari & therefore there is no 6 month issue. This is not strictly legal but I believe it is widely tolerated here, although worth reading the maids section on this site. You might want to ask around for advice about this/ or getting a contact. Also I know that the 6 month issue can be got around if your employer provides a letter recommending you as a sponsor & proving that you earn a sufficient salary. Of course, you will need an RP before you can sponsor & that in itself can take a few months!!

Hi there does anyone know where to get hold of one of those large plastic storage boxes used to store garden stuff or even a small shed or awning of some kind? Need something for the backyard for kids toys etc but not found anything suitable yet - scanned Salwa Road both sides but no DIY type stores seem to exist....
