Aww shame I didn't know about this a few weeks earlier. Did you notice if they did breastfeeding tops or is it just maternity? Speaking of breastfeeding if anyone needs maternity bras the lingerie shop on beach road has an offer on tomorrow https://www.facebook.com/TKDGCC

ps ou have a diff doc each time, this isn;t a huge concern of mine as delivered dd in uk under nhs and this was the case in uk also. nicu charges at latifa vary from 2200 - 3900 per day, don't know about city as not detailed.

Hi DesJJ I find myself in a similar situation as you. We are not insured as such, company will pay and we pay back as an interest free loan over time, if we go to private hosp or we pay everything up front for gov hosp. We are also having twins so cost is a bit of a factor. Today I visited both hospitals and was really impressed with them both. Latifa - You can visit any morning from 730 to the customer service area and they will take you around the hosp and ask questions. I went to admissions today and got a print out of costings and asked additional costs too. They were able to tell me an epidural would be 1800 aed in addition to whichever package we took but couldn't tell me exactky what was included in the package price as it's dependant in each delivery. However I plan on asking more questions tomrorrow whe I go for the walk around. City - Much more detailed info in what is included in packages. Obviously more expensive but the main diff in price comes about if having a section, not a huge diff for normal delivery. City also includes a package for instrumental delivery which Latifa doesnt. Every Fri between 11 and 12 and 4 and 5 there is a free tour of the hospital and you can ask questions there. here are the main things i've found out latifa - normal delivery private room 90000 section private room 12000 epidural 1800 circumcision - 1500 city - normal delivery 11500 section - 22500 epidural 2500 city you're automatically in a private room prices don't include epidural, blood transfusion, nicu, medication, circumcision does include 2 vaccinations after birth for baby - bcg and engerix ( i dont know what engerix is, know from uk babies get vit k injection so maybe this but would need to find out ) so my plan of action is to go to latifa tomorrow find out if what is in the city break down in included in the latifa package, then go to city on friday for tour there and any extra questions i can think of. the antenatal packages for both are v similar 5000 latifa, 5500 city but again would want to cross check what's included at latifa vs city. Hope this helps but one thing for sure both appeared organised and clean and were helpful and friendly, HTH

Hey ELC have numbers and letters. Think Carrefour may have them too, with in arabic and english. They drive me up the wall though, children just pop all the letters / numbers out constantly and you spend your time trying to put back together, think best for 3yrs plus tbh.

Pediped Robeez Fofito Gbb Really want something that supports the ankle and helps to form the foot shape, so avoiding flat foot. Petite pitons And pitter patter in Dubai mall v helpful. Clark's have a good choice for boys. Crocs aren't supportive enough when they're learning to walk, I'd only use them very infrequently .

Hi Looking for some advice. DD is 18 months, father French, mother British. Keen to send her to French speaking nursery. Father will be away often so thinking I can take care of the English language side of things, I'm a primary school teacher so confident in teaching phonics, reading, writing and numeracy etc. Can anyone recommend a French speaking nursery near jumeriah area? Also in terms of schools also looking for reccomendations Tia

Thankyou mirdifingrid will have a look. It's the melody we have. It actually broke, by my dad over a year ago, and he got us a new one. To be totally honest while the cafe lungo and the hot choc pods are lovely I would have preferred a normal machine where you can smell it for ages! Getting the pods is pricey. Think in UK was around £4 for 16 pods, which is the equivalent of 16 cups if is the lungo but most of the other ones use 2 pods at a time so only 8 cups. It also takes a wee while to get used to how much water to put in otherwise can be too watery. But that all aside it does make a nice coffee!

We've got rearfacing too. It's a recaro polaric wee bought in Scotland but I know for sure the shop divers to Dubai as they were sending note out the day we were there. The research into erf is too sound to ignore, imo, so I'm very glad we went with what we did. There details are http://www.janstewartprams.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=62&Itemid=105 You need isofix in car. Maybe go to just kidding to search what they have then see if cheaper in Europe HTH

I think snuffle babe is hard to get here. Can get in UK so maybe get someone to post it out for you? Be really light. Sure you can use from 3 months. You can also get olbas oil for children which may be suitable from 3 or 6 months so totally fine for your Lo. I used to take mine into shoerroom and steam for a while, humidifier would help too. There's also karvol plug ons that might help or try raisin.g her mattress slightly but if she's a.trying like mine with moving around may not really work Hth

Hi I often lack ideas a.d inspiration too but have found this book v useful. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/0091889510/ref=redir_mdp_mobile I make up batches of stuff then store in airtight jars and can be taken out as the week goes on. Also chopped up fruit in some fruit juice is good as it keeps it from drying out. fresh juice being best. I also use water bottles with the sports cap for mine to drink from. Then I have a collection so not the same rush to get ready. Can't really think of anything else! Sometimes I just Google to get meal ideas!

Just reading this thread confuses me! Doesn't take much though! Anyway I would like to know what is the diff between FS2 and year 1? Is FS2 reception but just not called that? We're from scotland and reception year relates to our p1, first year of proper 'school' if you get me. So do you complete FS2 at a nursery and not a school here if you are following English curriculum? My daughter will be 5 in the november and back home she would have started school that August passed. So here when would she start? The september before she's 5 or later? Also FS1, is this where they would go when they are 3? We would like to send our duaghter to TCG, then JBS I think they are in the same company? Any help would be useful!!

Hi I thought I was going mad as things I have written have vanished... I wonder if it was because I put my whole email addy down? That's good to know the park is not too far away. Been looking for somewhere to take wee one for a walk, getting fed up going around the same wee route I have! Will have to venture out this aft and see if I can find it! Think the pool I found will be the one we can access. Will try find out from neighbours if they use it though or go elsewhere. We don;t have a car sorted out soon but will get round to it. Totally agree with dogcatcher. My husband has being feeling the strain a bit with the paperwork and I'm not about to start moaning that we don't have this or that sorted out, it will all come. We're here for as long as poss so have plenty of time to find our feet. Very unrealistic to expect to know the area, have days out planned etc etc, for the mo I'm happy to let my wee one play around in the garden, getting her vit d!!! Certainly wouldn't be doing that in the uk!! There was someone who lives in the same area as me who said she had a one year old too, i cant find the post but would still be great to try meet up at some point!

Hey SueB, Good to hear you are happy here! Do we have a pool? Is it the little round one I came across the other day? Not sure if just happened across someone else's!! Do you have children? My wee one is only one, need to get her some pals!! Think she's getting fed up with my 'entertainment'!! House is so empty, waiting for our stuff to come but will be ages yet. Took the furnished option which is good as a starter but be nice to get our own.

Hi We arrived 2 weeks ago and after requesting silicon we were placed in Ruler's Compound. This is in the Al Bada'a area and very close to Safa/ Jumeriah 1. I was initially concerned when I got the details as I had no idea what to expect. Having seen the cedre villas I kind of painted a pic in head to what to expect. However, we are really happy where we are. We were told there was no more space ther, however I know my neighbour's friend has just been allocated a semmer villa so I guess it's just a case of waiting but be rest assured that the quality of accom is really good and the location is fab, can walk to beach! The villas are very spacious and while they may be a bit older they aren't ancient, think 10 yes or so. Friends who live here and have done for a while feel our location is better. I'm very much still finding my feet and I came out straight away with my husband and baby. He is already studying hard and I'm very grateful to have the friends here already, otherwise I think it could get very lonely. It would be an excellent idea to have some sort of wive's club or something similar!
