There is a great cake shop at the bottom of Al Sahab 1 tower in the marina. I know that they do great cakes and have a book on the desktop showing what else they can make.

OMG!!! Just seen a great YouTube on how to put your hair in a bun. They didn'y use a donut thingy they used a long sausage thing that they rolled their pony tail up in and then put into a bun. Anyone know if you can get long sausage foam thingy for your hair? It looked so much more easier to do than using the donut.

The last time I went we ended up complaining about 4 times - Steak was cooked in correct, vegetable were missing, sauce was missing, no waitress to bring food to table - we could see our food sat waiting to be brought to us. In the end we got up and got our own plates of food. All this and there were only 3 other tables there. The restaurant at Souk Al Bahar is just as bad as well. Went there last week. Asked 5 times where my drinks order was!!! I really hope your experience is better than mine. And yes, the bar upstairs is great!!

Try Knowledge Village, I know that they have a lot of language schools there and also Universities. It really does depend on what type of course you want to study.

I agree with the previous post. Kerala is great. Spent a week there and also spent a few days on a houseboat. Great people, great food, would definitely go back. To be honest if you just want a pool and private beach and don't intend to leave the hotel then why bother with the air fare, just book into a hotel in Dubai.

Does anyone know how you add a password to your WiFi when you use an Apple Mac to make the connection secure? I do not have the Airport connection thing whatever that is. I just have a regular WiFi router. I just want to make sure that no one is using my connection. Any help would be great as I am going mad!

You know what I would do.... don't give him the keys back until he has given you your deposit and money for the repairs. Simple really and if he isn't happy then let him take you to RERA. If you haven't changed your locks, now might be a good time to do that.

Oceana is great. I have a 2 bed there and these do have a maid/study room. YOu do not need to pay for using the beach etc and you can take up to 4 guests with you to use the pool etc. It does get busy in holiday seasons, e.g. Easter as this is when the Movenpick hotel buses guests in to use the facilities from IBN Tutta Mall. Not sure about the kids club but the gyn is good. You can get an extra parking space, but you would need to go to Asteco the onsite maintenance company but I am sure you can get an extra one. Good Luck.

1 I believe, we lived in a 3 bed and got 2 spaces Oh no, do you know if they have assigned designated parking spaces there yet? I know when I used to visit you could park wherever you liked.

that's such funny timing - someone has JUST moved in these past few weeks. i will keep my ears open if something else comes up though. we LOVE and adore our villa. such a joy to come home to after a hard day at the grindstone! Thank you, how bizarre with the timings though. Do you mind me asking you which agent you used or did you just drive around the area yourself?

I went to a Dr's at Nicols & Asp, just rang up, booked appointment & went. I think the Dr was a specialist though but she was in a clinic setting and not at a hospital.

Can you fly direct or a connection in bkk? Fly direct to Bangkok & then get Thai Airways to get you to Koh Samui. 5 1/2 hr flight to Bangkok followed by a 1 hr stop over & a 1 hr flight to Koh Samui.

I'm off to Thailand tonight!! Going to Koh Samui and then onto Koh Toa and maybe Koh Phanang. Haven't booked anywhere just going to turn up. Koh Samui is great, was there just 1 month back. Lots to do and see, you'll have a great time.

Well arrange a time for the viewing with the new LL - give him copies of the invoice and tell him to his face he is not viewing until he pays them. Or go to rera and raise a case. Good idea!!

Just called the agent & yes my apartment has been sold but they wont give me the details of my new landlord. Plus I am now never going to get back my deposit or money for the things I had fixed from my old landlord.

I think I am just going to ignore my old LL, new LL & agent until my lease is up in April, because that is exactly what he has been doing to me especially when I was trying to contact him to get my money for all the repairs!!!

He hasn't sold it. It's just a ploy to get me to agree to show people around. I do not expect to get any money back & as for the deposit, well can kiss that goodbye as well. But I have changed the locks so no one is getting in anytime soon ;)

Check your contract regarding who pays for maintenance. When we rented here we were liable for maintenance as it as written in to the contract. However, as far as I'm aware in standard contracts maintenance in the LL responsibility. I don't think you are obliged to allow viewings, if you don't the LL will just have to have them done once you vacate. I think it is fair to allow them if the LL is behaving reasonably but if he/she isn't then it's a different story. OK, so after ignoring the phone calls for viewings from the agent, I come home to find a note under the door. "This is ..... from so & so lettings, this apartment is sold & the new LL wants to take a look. Please call me urgently" I mean seriously, would you buy an apartment without even stepping one foot inside it. Does the agent really think that I am that stupid & that I am going to call them!!
