Reductil has been taken off the market because it has been linked to an increased risk of heart attacks and strokes. A trial involving 10,000 patients revealed that Reductil could lead to heart problems. This is made even more worrying by the fact that the weight-loss pill was only available to those who are obese and already at a greater risk of developing heart problems. Those responsible for regulating medicines and healthcare products said: ‘Evidence suggests that there is an increased risk of non-fatal heart attacks and strokes with this medicine that outweigh the benefits of weight loss, which is modest and may not be sustained in the long-term after stopping treatment.’ Since Reductil was introduced in 2001 there have been 2094 suspected adverse reactions and 17 deaths linked to the drug. Six of the deaths were caused by heart problems and stroke. People who are currently taking the drug are advised to make a routine appointment with their doctor to discuss Reductil and that there are no health risks in stopping treatment before seeing their doctor

Yes I have Kindara and also Glow and have been using them for a few months now. May go back home and buy a kit from there as I have a few success stories once you can actually see when and if you are ovulating.

We don't really have a budget to be honest. Just a weekend and a bunch of girls. Would like to do something that wasn't going to break the bank and also something that wasn't going to be a nightmare to organise.

I really really don't want to be a downer, but unless you are planning to fund the bulk of the Hen trip for your friends, please do consider doing something low key and fun rather than pricey and OTT. There are so many wonderful bonding things you can do with your friends pre-wedding that don't include airfares and dressing up and shelling major ducats on what is essentially just yet another girls' get-together, irrespective of how much you want to 'do something special' leading up to your Big Day. Hosting a fun 'at home' with in-house massages/beauty treatments/nails/etc, with canapes and drinks for all isn't such a jaded idea, and it allows people to relax without worrying about spending a huge amount of money. Same goes for an evening catered dinner party, or just heading out for tapas and cocktails. One of the best hen things I went to was simply a picnic in a lovely park; the food was lovely, the view perfect ... and those that wanted to, kept kicking on into the afternoon at a fab local outside bar .... I went through over a decade of weddings and pre-wedding parties and hen things and all the rest, and while wonderful, it almost broke me from a money perspective. I know that everyone thinks that their wedding is THE occasion to celebrate, but dialing down on all the random miscellaneous celebrations on the lead-up is being kinder to your friends, unless they are rolling in money .... in which case: go nuts! But avoid NYC until March because it's bl00dy freezing! Have loads of fun, and also: just want to say, am not trying to be unkind or nasty: this truly comes from a place of kindness: I do wish you the best and most beautiful wedding and pre-wedding fun ... Promise. :) Thank you for your post. After trailing through the internet websites and looking at flights my girls are all coming back saying that they have been here or there and they do or don't like this place. So I think I may stay at home and have a pamper day and get a chef in to arrange dinner etc. That way all can come and as you said they will not have to break the bank.

Ladies My bridesmaid is looking into my hen night for me and I have a few concerns. She is wanting to make it as fun as possible and a night to remember but all I see is a train wreck. Blow up you now what, pole dancing,, half naked waiters etc etc I was thinking along the lines of something a little more classier. Ladies please give me your opinion and what did you do on your hen night? TIA

Afternoon Ladies I'm trying to locate some rather large letters for my wedding. Ok, so I was thinking of having mine and my husbands first initial made into a big letter so that we can have it at the reception. Does anyone know where I can get one or have one made? Looked on all the usual sites but they are too small, I want massive ones. TIA

hi there! being a wedding planner myself, IMHO use a regular baker and not mention the word 'wedding' to them!! i usually use bakers such as Sugaholic and for a fondant cake, for example, a three tier cake would cost you around 750-800dhs... if you want it a bit more price competitive then try and go for a cake with buttercream icing instead (naked cakes are all the rage now!) that way the costs come down a bit Thank you

Hi Dangerous Blonde - i got married in Dubai in November. I had about 60 guests in the day. The wedding did cost us a fortune but was worth every minute. Alcohol is really expensive but why not have a drinks package instead of the champagne as this is what i did and helped to reduce the price. I also organised a lot of things myself so saved money there. 100K for 80 guests is a good budget. For the flowers i actually arranged for them to be delivered on the morning of the wedding and my mum tied some ribbon around them and they looked amazing......the shops wanted to charge me about 10K too for a wedding bouquet. In the evening i had a cash bar as well. I also know a great make up artist who was one of the cheapest i tried but also the best. She was the only one who didnt make me look like a drag queen with heavy eye make up. I know a great hairdresser too.... Hope this helps edited by Bracey777 on 26/03/2012 Hi there Old post I know but would be great if you were still out there. Are you able to share your make up artist and hairdresser that you used as I am getting silly quotes at the moment. Many thanks

Afternoon ladies I wonder if you are able to help. I have a friend in Canada that used to serve in the Canadian Military and is now working as a social/psychological worker to help troops cope with post traumatic stress or PDST as I think it is now called. He recently visited Dubai and was wondering how he would go about working here within the same field. So I was wondering if anyone had any contacts that I could put him in touch with and pass on his CV. Many thanks.

Hi Ladies I'm getting married in Dubai soon and I want to help out my guests by finding some accommodation for them. Rather than booking them into a hotel I wanted to see if a villa or apartment would be of better value for them. Apart from Dubizzle are there any good sites that I could check out? TIA

I'm just about to move out of Oceana after 3 years. These are the reasons why: - Movenpick Hotel ships tourists in to use the pool & beach leaving very little space for residents - New Dukes Hotel to open up attached to Oceana, same issue as above - Cigarettes constantly been thrown over balcony. Warnings been issued but no one takes any notice - No guest parking up top due to new hotel. Limited space in garage, plus visitors need to leave ID at the gate - Apartments no sound proof. I can hear my upstairs neighbor taking a pee!!! - A lot of young people at Oceana & hence a lot of weekend parties on balconies - Noise again - West 14 is closing at the end of the year However with all that being said, I did have a great time at Oceana, I just got fed up with the noise, cigarettes and party atmosphere. My parents refer to it as an "18 to 30's" club resort.

Thanks for your update, glad you had a good time in the end but a shame that you had to sit outside in the heat. I have a birthday coming up in the middle of June and am looking to do something different apart from a Friday brunch. if anyone has any ideas they would be most welcome. I am thinking of having a dinner somewhere where there is some kind of entertainment or buzz about the place. Somewhere not too busy & loud or dark. Any ideas????

Agree with renting a second space. They are just about to stop all visitors parking up top as they are about to start work again on the Oceana Hotel. In fact the school bus is no longer allowed up top so the only place to park for a second car would be to rent a space.

Thanks for th info ladies. I was going to take in my tenancy contract as proof of my address the only thing is it will only have maybe a week left on it, will this be ok or will they be asking where & when I can produce the new one? Also and this is my last question. How long does it take to get the affirmation or do you walk out with it when you go for your appointment at the Embassy? TIA

Brilliant and thank you!! Just a quick question: If I bought a ring then for $30k at the gold & diamond park and went to Damas for a valuation would they also value it at $30k as this is how much it would be to replace it OR, for example would they value it at 3 times the price like I know they would back home? Feedback would be appreciated.

I don't want to sell it. I merely want a valuation so that I can get it insured incase anything happens to it. Nowhere in Dubai does valuations though.

Thank you for your responses. Just a quick question: obviously I need to get the ring valued in order to insure & obviously because the ring was bought in Dubai it was a great deal. So.... Does anyone know of a place in Dubai where you can get your jewellery valued and therefores insured instead of getting it done at my home country?

Thank you ladies. Blimey I thought it was going to be a nightmare but it looks like once you have your paper work in order it's pretty plain sailing. So I guess you have your wedding in the church & then reception at you venue of choice, a bit like being in the UK I guess.
