If u are not a high risk pregnancy, u dont really have to register with al wasl.. Talk to your doctor and figure out if u really need to or not.

if u are due end of september, i am assuming u have a package with them? If you do, then u should call the ob/gyn reception and they are supposed to slot you in as per your weekly appointments as per your package. I used to book all my appointments for every 2 weeks, and then if i had to adjust the dates, they were quite fine with it. I was with Dr. Elsa who is v v busy, but if u have a package, they have to slot u in before u pop!

Hi... My dd was prescribed the same thing. And it doesnt take 3 weeks to take effect.. just about 3-4days. I would highly suggest you also look up Lactose Overdose. They suspected lactose intolerance for my baby, and put me on a diary free diet for 2 weeks to no use. Only after my own research did i find out that the doctors forgot a vital point. If a child is lactose intolerant, she wont put on weight. And my dd was gaining weight. Anways, long story short, she had lactose overdose along with GER. She took the medication only for 3 weeks before i stopped. And, as much as ppl rave abt cecile here, i dont recommend her.

Formula is NOT a poison! Trust many will agree that breast milk is the perfect way to feed your child, but there NOTHING wrong with formula feeding. I really feel for those who choose / cannot breastfeed and are taken for a guilt trip. We all want what is the best for our little ones - be it food or the way they are born to this world. We all have reasons to raise our children the way we do. There is no universal way to raise the child... :)

I moved from dubai to doha and just presented my dubai license at the license authority and they gave me a Qatari licene in 30mins. I guess it should be the same in Dubai. Unless your 21 and below, i dont think they will cause too much of a fuss... Even if it is cancelled, as long as you have the license card to present, u should be ok... fingers crossed! :)

Try giving a whole full cold cucumber or cold carrot... it will help soothe the gums. The only time u should worry about feeds is when they start loosing weight or being lethargic, etc.. if they are active, dont worry.. sometimes my 26monht old goes on food strike.. eating just to survive.. but somehow always get a dirty nappy.

Dr Elsa of City Hospital is prolly the only Indian doctor that I would trust with my body. Natural delivery with no stitches.. she rules!! :) Dunno Dr. Grace, but know a lot of other desi OBGYNs.. And not one an beat Dr. Elsa in terms of her work and also her manner. And she is definitely not condescending like most of them :) (sorry, am a self appointed promoter of Dr. elsa!:))

sorry to hijack shelly. I am planning a trip to paris later this year with my DD who will be 7months old then. I was planning to take my big Graco Quattro Tour pram. Planning the usual touristy stuff. Or is it better not to? She will sleep in it.. and although I hav a sling, i think my back will die carrying her continuously. DH wont be there. Was planning to take the bus to go around town.. but will that be too difficult?

i read this somewhere (was looking up sleep depriviation when having 2 kids below 2).. and it said that eventually when kids start sleeping through the night and mummy actually gets to sleep the night, she is likely to be more tired because the body has a lot of catching up to do and has to reschedule itself to sleeping without a break.. but eventually in a couple of weeks or so freshness and "mojo" does come back! :)

Neither it's a nasal decongestant. Plus please read the instructions as I am sure it is NOT for children under 6 unless it's a paediatric medicine. "Sudafed FOR KIDS"? Duh!

my ds's mouth used to smell bad when he was teething. i actually took him to a pediatric dentist thinking he had halitosis or something :D.. they told me he's just teething and its normal. Anothing thing could also be the food. The 8month is porlly trying out new foods and as his belly wont be accustomed to it yet it could cause different smell of breath.

My DD dint have a burn but an open wound on her entire neck due to a condition she has. We had her treated in the UK for it as they had no idea what to do in Dubai hospital, city hospital or american hospital. Anyways, long short, DH and I were taught to clean and do the dressing ourselves, especially since we had to come back to dxb eventually. We have becomes pros at it now. And this was hen DD was 2months old. So maybe you can ask the doctor to show you how to do it?

. Anyhow, one evening I had put him in his cot while I bathed DD. The curtains were drawn and by the time I'd finished putting her to bed, it was 19h and the room was dark. DS was fast asleep, so I left him there. He woke up at 23h for a feed, and went straight back to sleep. I did exactly the same thing with him the next day and it was the same story... we've never looked back. In fact, he's always (since) been easier to put to bed than DD! Agree with that. My DD goes to bed by 6pm. And then wakes at 6am thank to her older brothers noisy wake up. Yes she has a short routine too.. wash, diaper change, feed, burp, kiss, sleep. Yes, she dos get a coupla feeds at night.. but she doesnt wae wide up.. just a whine and i stick to b00b in and we both sleep. But yes, i read somewhere, that babies get tired v easily.. and very early lik 5,6,7pm or there abts..

Maybe you need to get some help..ie, a post natal doula or a breastfeeding consultant? My 5 month old sleeps a lot more than that! And just for your info, i have trained my 5 month old whose my second child to fall asleep herself, without me, and she takes about 20mins to do so. After feeding her, i burp her and make sure all the dgassy is out and then a kiss and i just move away from the bed.. she dos wriggle a bit, sometimes a tiny whine.. but she does fall asleep. Ofcourse, I do go to her if she cries.. and she does if she has a burp left in her.. So maybe u can try that out.. give your baby some time to fall asleep and also to learn to fall asleep herself.. Good luck! I know how tired you must be feeling..

I think another thing is the weather? You cant exactly take your kids out to the park and let them lose some energy in this part of the world with the heat. Atleast in nursery/playschool they are doing arty things, playing and learning..

You could also give colorful stuff. For example, a bowl full of peas and corn is lots of fun :) Whole carrots, cheese sticks, cherry tomatoes, etc. And also, instead of watching your child eat.. just act normal. My blw DS eats better if his plate has the stuff he wants and we dont watch him.. ie, everyone is having a normal conversation, but not particularly watching wat he is eating.

Rumour, how many kids do you have and whats the age gap? I have 2 kids, 25months and 5 months. And its really difficult to keep the older one entertained all the time. He is bored at home. And then he gets cranky.. his sleep gets messed up cos he isnt tired enough. I cant sit with him all day when I have another baby and other chores at home to do. I cant send him to run outside cos its so hot. I cant go to soft play areas like mini monster cos i have a baby to keep an eye on as well. So he just started playschool last week (here in doha)nand I have a whole thread about that in the mum, bumps forum. Of course, i dint want to send him till he was 3.5yrs.. but the again we dint plan to have a baby so quickly either.. He seems to be having fun at playschool... he makes all this funky art stuff.. he tells me stuff he does at school in his one-word language (which i do understand). Overall I think he is happier and it shows on him, which makes me happy. So in answer to your Q op, I think 3 is fine. If you can entertain her at home, that is the best. But if you arent able to make egg sandwiches at home with her, its ok to send her to summer camp. Oh and by "Summer Camp".. i think the op actually means a nursery/playschool for the summer. I highly doubt if there are hardcore cummer camps for 3yr olds out there.. are there?

We are in Doha, so i doubt u'd know the nursery :) He's been doing 3.5hrs since this week and its going great. He brought home some fab art work today :) When I drop him in the morning he clings and then cries for about 10mins.. after that he is fine. I dont think i;ll hit 4hrs yet.. maybe another week or so before i decide to do that :)

Does she sleep in your bed? After her feed, burp her and then let her just be. Atleast thats what we did with DD whose now 5 months old. After her feed, she is burped and then left in bed. I had a tough time with DS who at 25 months still cant sleep without me.. so dd has been trained to sleep on her own.

Right for those watching this thread :) Last week was awful, he cried so much. One of the days I sat with him a full 45 mins before they threw me out. :) Only on day 3 did he stay for 2hrs.. else it was only 1hr. Interestingly, he would tell ppl who came home about school, and also at night when we slept he would tell us he had school the next day. Also on the weekend he had a a surprised look on his face that we dint take him to school. Today, start of week 2, however was excellent. He did cling to me at the stairs, and then was crying when i left him at class. But i called them 15mins later and they said he was fine. In fact the nursery is so nice, that thy actually indulge me when i call every 30mins. He was there from 8:30-12:00. At 12 when i went to pick him, i was watching him for a few mins from the door and he definitely seemed alright. He definitely hadnt cried for more than an hour from his face. And when he finnaly saw me he was happy and smiling and gave me hug (unlike last week when he wud burst into tears and come cling on to me). In short, I think what worked was that I actually gave him some time today to spend in his class. I highly recommend that if u can stay with your child for even 1hr the first day, do it. The first week is hard.. but from week 2, be strong and they just adapt :)
