What a b'tch fest by some posters. Amazing. Surprisingly (to some of you) there are people who come back with only hand luggage and are more than happy to bring things back that aren't available here. She is not running a business as AmyAus has wrongly assumed, oh that she had the time to do so ! The OP said the items she requires aren't available here but why is it necessary for people to be so nasty ? I know the OP is one of the most caring people on this earth and goes out of her way to help anyone. If the shoe was on the other foot and she was able to, she would not hesitate to bring back one item, or a lot, to help someone. She would not treat anyone as an unpaid courier service, that is not how she is with people. What has the number of times anyone makes a request got to do with anything ? Surely it's more about expats helping one another. To my mind, attacking posters on here for no good reason happens too frequently and must consequently deter people from asking for help when they see what can happen. Many innocent posts all too often are turned around to be the b'tch fest that this one has. Obviously some of you have nothing better to do with your time. edited by amelia on 06/09/2012 And still no answer as to the actual size or weight so how can anybody offer help? I mean that is really important information before people can even consider helping!

It's a 'few' bits for my son's party bags for their party in October - surprisingly stuff i can't buy in Dubai!! ;( How much is a few as Amelia is saying it is a lot how much are we talking??? Size??? Weight??? A FULL suitcase???

Ditto that! Again some of you are missing the point. The thread isnt about not knowing the words or singing in your heart it's about certain Olympians representing GB making the decision NOT to sing to try and make a point. How can we be United Kingdom if we're not united. But that's the problem the UK is not united anymore

Also a lot of people don't actually know the words! I personally don't as it was not something we were ever taught or needed to know.

You won't need to do an X-ray they can give you a skin test, but my visa was recently cancelled due to change of company and I only had to redo my bloods as I had not left the UAE, they said an X-ray was not needed so don't worry :)

I am pretty sure you can freeze eggs as this was not banned it was the freezing of embryos they banned but once again I am sure this ban was cancelled earlier this year. JC's problem is the fact she is not married.

Freezing eggs does not have the same success as embryos and don't know if you would be able to get it done here as your not married, as I am not sure if the clinics would be allowed to treat you as basically you would go through the same process as IVF without the fertilisation. Hopefully I am wrong!!

m-king... we are also on this tentative path. My understanding is that they do a DNA check of the embryos, so limited info really but at least they can check the down syndrome aspect for you. I am amazed at how pricey it is here and wonder why its so much cheaper in the US. Although friends of ours had theirs done very cheaply in Taiwan with success, so its tempting. It seems that the doctors here are claiming higher success rates that the clinics in the UK and I wonder why that is? I think here they give you the figures for pregnancy rates and not live births which is why it is higher

Dr Fakih does his egg collections and transfers in Dubai these days I know he used to have to do them in Abu Dhabi before, but he now has a licence for Dubai, and short term freezing of embryos is also allowed these days . Good luck!!

When your residency is cancelled your not given a visit visa and you have 30 days before you have to leave, I was told there was no way of extending and I had to leave and come back, although this can be done at Hatta just remember you cancellation paperwork.

Wingclip, I am one of his happy customers, but if you are unsure there is no harm In taking an appointment elsewhere as it is an expensive process if your not 100% sure your at the right clinic. I like Dr P as he is very honest about things, sometime too honest and Dr Fakih seems to have a more positive approach and maybe slight too positive and does tell the whole story....this is just my view of course. Do what feels right for you!!!

I am sure it is still valid, as we have left the country, came back after a few years, changed visas and still be able to register cars on the same driving license, we were told is was still valid for 10 years regardless of our visas.

We had a problem with French Connection not taking vouchers as we had gone in for breakfast and they would not accept them for breakfasts which they claimed was mentioned in the book but since we never had the book with us we did not argue, but of course there was no mention of not being able to use them in the morning!!!
