I have often wondered about this. I always thought that the D stood for Dubai!!! Not used to talking about OH with such affection as 'Darling' lol

I was sooooo pleased that Pia went! There is no doubt that she has an amazing voice, however there was never a performance. Even at the end of Thursdays show when all the contestants danced around, she stood there as stiff as a board! I also think that the judges were rude to say that they were angry with the result and that the public got it wrong.............isn't the idea of the show that the public vote for the act that THEY find entertaining and appeals to their music taste?! Pia and Jacob are a little dated probably more suited to my parents!! My favourites are James, Lauren and Scotty. Lauren and James always put on a show, Casey is very talented however his growling face scares me, Jacob I just cannot look at when he sings, Paul is comical and has a quirky voice (won't win though!), Hayley is getting better but something about her annoys me, Stefano needs to go next! Role on Thursday! edited by Shella on 10/04/2011

Unfortunately This is our experience. Sometimes you can get a reasonable price if you book well in advance but not always!! We tend to book flights to Manchester in August for Christmas and tend to pay around 450 GBP (before the fuel increase!)

Also check Qatar Airways and BMI (from Abu Dhabi).

We have found Etihad (from Abu Dhabi) tend to have good rates direct to Manchester, if Emirates are too expensive. Have also flown direct to Birmingham and been collected by family for the hour drive to Manchester. We found the hour drive easier than having to change flight with an infant. Good Luck

two c-sections (3years ago and then 12 months ago) performed in Dubai by the same Doctor. Used the same scar which is barely visable now 3 inches long and very low. First C-section was and emergency and second on medical grounds. As others have said, recovery second time is much easier. Good Luck and try not to worry too much! Thanks Shella. Can I ask what Dr you used. My experience and recovery was great for the first, so it's good to hear so many women say it's even better with the second. Dr Christian Josza. He was at The American Hospital but has moved to Healthbay Clinic on Al Wasl. Delivers at City Hospital Now. I have stuck with him despite the move and 100% will have him for future pregnancy (if he is still in Dubai!!), which because of medical problems would have to be another c-section.

I lived in Mirdif for 3 years and also have friends in Sharooq which love it. Nice big spacious villas. The only downside is that they are right under the flight path, so if living in Mirdif you need to think about the planes overhead! Silicon Oasis has some lovely villas and is only 15-20 minutes drive. Good Luck with your search.

Why not book a Pink Taxi (women only). The drivers are female and appear to drive well when I have encountered them on the roads. You can book them through Dubai Taxi.

We had a Golden Retriever for 9 months & had to give him away to the do trainer as he bit almost everyone in our family. My kids have been heart broken sine then. I would love to take your dog and give him abeautiful home. We stay on the Palm in a villa on the beach. Pls call me on 04 3166249. Wow. I think we posted our add to re-home our dog, in the wrong place!! If OP's dog finds a home with either of you guys it will be a very lucky doggy! And then if any of you are still looking to re-home a medium sized pet then send me an email michelle hamer at hotmail dot com. Please only mail me if the OP's doggy has found a home as I know how difficult it can be to rehome a loving pet.

Cant you send him on a boys afternoon to Go karting at that place by sports city ( sorry, my mind is blank today). He could have an afternoon with the boys and then all the wives can prepare some snacks with a few glasses of vino and wait for them to arrive home for an evening garden buffet. Think there is a voucher for Karting in the Entertainer!

We were quoted 1200AED for the Hilton Spa RAK (FOR MID-WEK STAY), and got the same room for 600AED on Expedia. Think it is a Delux Queen we have so our toddler could be in one of the huge beds on her own! We go to stay in 2 weeks. Can't wait as so many people on here have recommended it. Have fun where ever you end up!

we'd love to take in ur dog... but can't do so till then end of april... in between shifting homes at the moment... pop me a line on [email protected] if he's still looking to be homed in april... all the best![/quot It is heart-warming to see that there are people out there willing to give a dog a great home. We were in the same situation a few weeks back with our dog. Traumatic decision but it had to be made. We thought we had found a fab home for her but unfortunately the family had to change their mind. We are now looking to send her back to the UK to family or friends. Can't really afford it but we just want what is best for her. Fingers crossed that my constant begging to my parents works!!! Good luck with the re-homing.

bornconfused:we are looking for type 2 on Al reem. Is it possible to deal direct with the landlord or have you always been with a real estate agent? Which Al ream are you on. Thanks in advance We deal directly with the landlord when we need something. He just lets the agents deal with all of the paperwork for the rental. We are in Reem 1. Thanks. Do you think the landlord would be willing to speak directly with us rather than go through the agency? Would be nice to save a few pennies!! My email is m i c h e l l e h a m e r at h o t m a i l dot c o m if you think this is possible. Thanks again

I was admitted to Welcare with pneumonia in January. Was in a week and found it to to be brilliant. Doctors were very informative and visited twice a day. Between Doctor visits a Junior Doctor would come in. I have only ever experienced American Hospital before this. One emergency c-section and one for medical reasons. 1st time was amazing treatment, second time the aftercare by nursing staff was not a patch on the first time. Definately favour Welcare. As for Medcare. Only experience was with the Dermatologist and this was a poor. Needed a mole removing for biopsy and she burnt it off leaving nothing left to biopsy!! All fine thankfully!! You will always have positive and negatives for all hospitals, although there seems to be a lot of positives on here for Welcare!! Good Luck.x

Hi. We may have to leave our 2 bed in Palmera Ranches before our contract expires 1st October. Is monthly cheques. We will have to speak to the landlord to see if he will take 9000AEd per month as we pay 10,000.
