Its not banned, so as many as you need. It lasts me for ages, so 6 would surely last you well over a year. So, I'm sure you could bring 6 for you and 1 for me, no problem lol.

I wanted to buy my DH an expensive birthday present from Tavola and they informed me that they don't partake in Dubai summer Surprises. So I paid full price. I'll be mad if they now reduce the item!

Sweet tea - thanks for the heads up, I'll be off to Daiso tomorrow morning, they sound perfect, thanks. Daily - thanks for suggestion but DH doesn't like Capri Sun but I think I'll use them as ice packs, thanks. BBmover - thanks but I have to buy 16 of them so too expensive. Already buying 23 t-shirts with printing (including wives and babies). 7dhs from Daiso sounds perfect.

Thank you for your kind offer Sue R, but I have one or two of those. We need 16 individual ones for the men in case they get separated in the treasure hunt. I'm going to hit Mirdif City Centre tomorrow as my last chance. Thanks for the link Ilovechoos, but I can't open it. The neoprene ones sound good, I wonder how much they cost?

Crikey, I can't believe some people would get on their high horse and give such answers to a very innocent question. All I am asking for is if anyone has seen a very small cool bag suitable for A CAN OF PEPSI AND A CAN OF 7 UP. I am also looking for foam or neoprene can coolers. So, today I've been to The big Spinneys in Jumeirah, Lulu, C4 in MOE, Adventure HQ and Ace Hardware. Nobody has small cool bags or can coolers. Has anybody seen them anywhere, recently. Thanks.

Hi, a friend of mine has an article in yesterday's Khaleej Times. She e-mailed me late last night, from the UK as she's now left Dubai and asked me to get her a copy. I went to Spinneys this morning and they told me that they are collected very early in the morning. Does anyone have a used copy they don't need, preferably at The Ranches so its easy to collect? Thanks in advance ladies.

We've used Desert Leisure for about 8 years without any trouble at all. I'd highly recommend them. They come twice a week and do a very good job. The maintenance price includes all materials, and they are very reasonable. Tel: Subi 050 4550328

I totally agree with JulesLC. You haven't got any chance of getting in JESS at the Ranches without a corporate debenture. We put our little one's name down when she was one week old, yes we had to wait until she was born, so she had a date of birth and name, lol. We paid their registration fee and haven't an iota of a chance of getting a place there. Such a shame!

I am looking for the same thing and don't for goodness sake ask for a Valance which is what we call them at home, because they do not know what you are looking for. Debenhams don't have them, I've checked ther, neither do Marks and Sparks. I want a cream 5' bed skirt. I was beginning to think I'll have to make my own, and I don't even have a sewing machine. Please let me know if you find them in Dubai, especially in the sale. Thank you.

I'm thinking of getting my DH a set of Global knives as he's always moaning about us not having sharp knives. Other than that, he has everything (he wants). Look at Global knives on amazon.co.uk, the 11 piece set is £1,150 but its half that here in Dubai for the same set.

I always go first thing, 9.30am or 10am, parking no problem then. I like the shop called Liverpool (for bags, purses, cocky watches, Ugg Boots tc) you can't miss it, and ask for the "live here price, not tourist". Also, Thai shop at end on left of Liverpool when facing Liverpool has brilliant prices on pashminas. Enjoy!

We came to Dubai in 1980 for a year, and here we are 33 years later - still here! Kids were 3 and 4 then, now grown up with kids and our grandchildren. I believe the time we spend with our loved ones, either when we go home, or when they come here is quality time well spent. Not like the quick visits family give Mum when they can fit her in to their busy schedules. I think I see more of her than they do.

My sister lives in West Palm Beach with her family, been lots of times and love it. So much to do and see there. Make sure you find house the right side of the I95 as you can't get insurance on the sea side of I95 due to storms there. Never been to Jacksonville, so couldn't comment.

We are very happy with our villa, and in fact wouldn't be here now if we hadn't bought it, as we wouldn't be able to afford the 240,000k p.a. rents. We are also retired and have a residence visa (which is an investor visa) with the property. They started giving them again about 6 months ago. Both retired and love living here - mainly because grandchildren are here (and their lovely parents of course). But we are lucky, bought off plan in early days. Our villa is our pension, one day.

Don't worry Mrs. orchid, you can book your flight back in 2 months time and immigration won't blink an eye. Then, before your 30th day you can do a nice trip through Hatta to the Oman border and get another 30 days. I've been doing this for the last 7 months. Arrived in Dubai on 1st September, return ticket booked for 16th July. No problem at all. Visa at border costs Dhs 50, petrol to border and back Dhs 50 probably. I'd drive you myself if you couldn't get there!

We used Batman from a company called Blast Tec or something. The job was managed by a Westerner who worked just as hard as hos men/didn't stand there directing them. They were incredibly thorough and took before and after photos, and they cleaned up everything when they'd finished. They took the whole day! On our recommendation ,friends and even my boss used them, all very satisfied. Never had them back, didn't need it done again. Fab job! Batman's Mob 056 1705920

Yes, they have started giving visas for home owners again, property must have cost more than 1 million. We have just got a two year visa with our property. You have to go to the land department in Deira and they will guide you through the process. Its not cheap anymore!!!

Oh no, my poor daughter. We bought her the ticket for Christmas. She is nursing her baby so last evening would have had to rush to bathe both kids, nurse the baby and get the little uns into bed then dash to the concert before she had to rush home and feed the baby again. So if that Walley was 2 hours lage AGAIN, she'd have missed the concert. Damn, damn, damn.

Can't believe I'm the first to see this request. We are looking for someone to look after our lovely med size dog. She loves being around people and is very good. Its so hot in the summer that a ten minute walk morning and evening will suffice. She is very well behaved. Where are you staying?

I had an o,d ring with sentimental value but it was ugly. I took it to Cara, explained what I want and they came up with the most amazing ring. They made it for me and everyone was in tears with the beauty of the new ring. I couldn't recommend Cara highly enough. I took my 33 year old puzzle ring there for repairs this week and my ankle chain that had also broken. They not only fixed my broken jewellery for free, they also cleaned everything I was wearing for free. Now that is what I call customer service!

I was in the UK last week and got a new passport in the 4 hour service. I just put my Mm's address, no problem as you collect the passport from their collection point 4 hours after you pay. I was pleasantly surprised how efficient their service was. I went to lunch, did a bit of shopping, collected my new passport and went home on the train. It was a lovely day in London.
