An idea... with Christmas just around the corner (7 Sundays left) if you are into the 'Santa Claus' thing, perhaps suggest your little wraps it up as a gift for Santa, in in it's place received a lovely gift on christmas day?
That way SHE has given it away herself as apposed to YOU taking it away from her.
