Hi I am planning on buying a travel cot for my daughter, there's so many brands out there with good/bad reviews. I would like to know what brand everyone out there is using and the pros and cons of it :) thanks.

Europe is the best for July !! asia will be hot and humid during that month, although it might not be too much of a problem if you plan on spending more time indoors than outdoors :)

Hi Can some one please suggest a few nice restaurants where there's a dinner buffet. I am planning on having a birthday celebration for a few family and friends and want some place that is not too crowded or over priced. Thanks :)

Looking for recommendations for a safe seating solution for my 5 month old. I would like for her to sit next to me when having lunch for a few weeks before she starts on solids! I know this is quite an old thread, but like to know if you bought the ikea high chair :) There are plenty of good reviews about the ikea high chair, but can some one tell me if its safe ? my daughter is 8 months and wriggles quite alot on her rocker. I am planning on buying a high chair and still searching for one. Can the mums in here please tell me how good/bad the ikea antilop is when it comes to safety.Thanks.

when they can crawl, (which was 5 months with my little guy) basically just so you can cook, or go into another room and know they are safe. You can just use a porta-cot or you can section of an area of the room and baby-proof it. Eventually you have to baby-proof the whole house though anyway. I wouldn't go spending a lot of money on one. Thanks :)

I'm also desperately seeking a Lindam playpen. Does anyone know a stockist in Dubai? (assuming your sale went ahead, very interested if it didnt for whatever reason ;-)) I was at a particular store the other day that sells baby items - saw the lindam play pen. I am sorry i cannot recall the name of the store but it is right next to medcare orthopedic and spine hospital in jumeirah.

Can I ask you ladies... What temp do you put the water into the flask? Do you go with freshly boiled water or slightly cooled boiled water? What do you do with your sterilised bottles when you are out for the day, do you chill them? When you are at home, do you make up each bottle each time you need it, or do you make up a bunch and put them in the fridge? I am sooo confused. Pretty sure I have been doing it wrong, everything I have read says it differently, or just concentrates on mixing up the feed, not the bit between the bottle being in the steriliser and the feed being mixed. Not sure why you sterilise up to 6 bottles at a time, if as soon as I open the steriliser they are prone to getting germs...??? I know how you feel - can be so confusing with so much information out there about what to do and how to do etc. Sterilising is best! and when you are home, my personal opinion (which i practice) is wash all the bottles you have and sterilise them in one go. As and when your baby needs a bottle prepare your formula and take the bottle you need for that particular feed out of steriliser. I leave the rest of the bottles inside the steriliser and use as and when needed. This depends on how many times your baby feeds and how many bottles you have. Sterilising once a day i believe is ok. When i go out. I simply take the sterilised bottle with a hot water flask (after cooling the water down a little bit) and formula powder in a container. I hope that information is useful :) although it all depends on each person and their level of hygiene etc. Do what you feel is best :)

I've tried a few, the best one I got was from Carrefour of Thermos, it says 'Thermocafe' on it, they have 500ml for 50dhs and 1litre for 80dhs (I think). Its very nice looking with a metallic colour, I got the purple one, and most importantly it keeps the water at the same temperature all day! The babyshop Juniors ones are the worst! Thanks :) can't agree with you more on the juniors brand!! most of the juniors products i've tried have always been a bad experience.

Hi MrsCB Sounds like you are having a tough time with the LO. My daughter had colic as well starting 3 weeks after she was born, but it subsided in a few weeks. At the time i was feeding her formula plus breast milk. The doctor adviced that it was perfectly fine to do so, however the formula was too thick and was not digesting well, so he prescribed a formula called similac total comfort . Which is specially made for babies with colic.Soon after that she was totally normal and less crying and better sleep. Also i used to give her gripe water after when colic started, about a tsp in the evenings when she's cranky. She usually settles after that. But adviced not to make it a habit. There's alot of information online on how to calm colicky babies. I would suggest you discuss with doctor/midwife. They will be able to advice you best. On the bright side colic usually lasts till babies are about 12 weeks or so. In my case the culprit was the formula milk. Soon after i changed that she was back to normal. Maybe you could try that. Hope this helps.

Hi Chi2dxb I had the local barber come home and shave the hair. He used an old fashioned razor knife whilst my husband held our baby daughter. If you are considering getting a barber make sure you ask them if they are specialized or have done this before. It was very quick.

Why don't you try brands such as garnier or neutrogena. They are mild and yet well suited for teen acne prone skin. A moisturiser i would recommend for teen acne prone or combination skin is neutrogena visibly clear oil free moisturiser. Hope this helps :)

Nippy I was truly upset after reading your story. I cannot believe men do such horrible things, especially to their own wife and kids with whom they've shared their life with. You definitely are one brave lady ! and i applaud you for that. Stay strong Nippy. Hopefully the new year will be a new beginning that is happy for you and family. I pray for you and your family.

Hi I've been buying the brown rice from spinneys for a while now, it's good quality and even my daughter loves it. I am not too sure, but i think there is only 1 type of brown rice that spinneys stocks. It comes in a clear plastic bag in two sizes. The product is made in sri lanka. Tastes good and smells wonderful when cooking.

Thanks joe-ama, i will be sure to check it out :) My main concern about high chairs is the cleaning - babies can get so messy when they eat and the high chairs will need cleaning after every feed, so something that is easy to clean would be the best i guess, taking into consideration baby's comfort as well. How comfy is your little one in the high chair ? is it well cushioned? Thanks
