Please do NOT drive on the fastest or 2nd fastest lane. Drive on the slowest lane and keep to the minimum speed. That way you do not annoy other drivers. Signal when necessary and use your mirrors.

you have to show that the baby is born in the uae. you have to bring the original birth cert. I am not sure how that will work for oman visa run, but I did that with DD but at the airport to fly back to see my folks.

I can't recommend Dr. Andrea enough! She's AMAZING. I delivered with her last October. She has recently opened her own clinic: Western Medical Center. It is on al wasl road, near the iranian hospital. tel num: 043855655 She still delivers at IMH as far as I know. If I'm pregnant again, I'll definitely chose her again :)

I regularly give DD fresh orange. Can your DS chew on his own? if yes, cut the oranges into small pieces to give him. If not, you can buy this http://baby-feeding.twenga.co.uk/baby-safe-feeder.html#hx=1&s=5&c=26afd&page=1 which is available at mother care. :D

I know of an Indonesian lady looking for full time live in employment. She has experience working in Ras Al Khaimah. She is currently leaving her former local employer, due to too many hours. The local sponsor is looking to recover some of his costs from when he originally brought her through an agency, he is looking for dhs 3000 and then there will be the usual visa transfer fees after that. She is about 25 years of age and has worked in Kuwait for 2 years and RAK for 2 years. She speaks Arabic and some English, she can read english and understands most spoken English (which is better face to face as opposed to the telephone!) She has experience with children. She is currently staying in Dubai while searching for a new position if anyone is interested please contact me directly for her telephone number. do you always have contacts for indonesian maids? I don't need it now, but will probably do in a while..

I've been hiring for a while and have tried so many different companies. The best one is still hertz. A tad on the high price but you do pay for the brand new car and customer service is always good. No hassle at all.

Thank you very much for replying caduku & sobevan, Sorry I forgot to mention I am in Abu Dhabi, Dh doesn't me to deliver in Dubai because he has to bring the kids and arrange a place to stay, etc... I will try to find a different pro VBAC doctor in Abu Dhabi. This my dr did monitor all my pregnancies and my first delivery. But this time, I guess he is really busy running in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Qatar that he wants to schedule a c-section. Actually I was shocked when I talked about VBAC in my last appt. He just gave me a straight answer, that probably I will have a CS. Before that I was assuming he is still pro-natural delivery, at least he used to be that.... caduku congratulations on your pregnancy, how far are you? And thank you for mentioning about Al ain hospital, i was about to go for a hospital tour this week. I will clarify beforehand, then. Of course I wouldn't put my baby in danger and keep insisting in natural L& D if there is a REAL risk. At my second delivery, when they rushed me to cs, can you imagine, baby was already on the way stuck in the canal, ready to be out! they pulled him back! And all the way in labor room she refused to do vaginal check, though I wanted to push, push push. Anyway, what is done is done, Thanks God. Now I am thinking of having a doula, I was strong and determined with my first baby, now I am paranoid of ob-gyns! This time, I need someone to speak for me! :) Can't believe I have become a chicken. Off to search for doulas in Abu Dhabi now. I know of a doula who is in AD. She was mine in Dubai who has since moved to AD. do a doula baby abu dhabi search on fb. S

I agree that some ladies who are in that age are much healthier than the younger ones. But I'm just speaking from experience. I had a live in once, who is only in her early 40s kept on complaining to DH that she can't do this or that or move this or that. She's always needing to sleep as she 'made her self look tired'. Why I say that is because come weekend, she's all full of energy to go out with her group of friends.!!! hahahahaha :-P Sounds like me ! are you sri lankan? :D

wow you all have very well behaved kids!! mine are well disciplined, but even they have their off days, so i dont think we should be so hard on ourselves!!! they\'re not robots after all it's not being robots. of course my dd has days off too. So, either myself or DH takes her away from the table/restaurant til she's cool again. It's not that difficult.

personal preference. If you drive yourself, I suggest behind the passenger seat as you can see the baby easily with the mirror.

not being funny but why would you want someone of near pensioner age to come and be a maid??? She comes highly recommended, absolutely capable.. so why not give her the opportunity? I don't consider her age an issue for me perosnally and I'd only treat her with respect and anyway my maids are not assigned to hard work. Do you have any further input now? blimey, are you in an attacking mood this am. she was merely asking.

I have a 9 month old ds and he wakes up quite a few times a night. We have started doing a dream feed at around 10.30/11 before we go to bed and for the last few days it has worked well, he has slept until 5.30 ish, normally wakes up and is sitting up, we lie him down again and he sleeps until 7ish. (We used to just feed him when he woke up around 12ish but this seems to work better as we are also getting a full nights sleep). Shjbelle, I have also seen Cecile and she said continue until 1 as boys need this until then. When you say your dd dropped the dream feed do you mean she refused the milk or you just stopped giving it to her and she didn't wake up? I am wondering how we go about stopping it at 1, he drinks the full 240ml at 10.30pm and eats 3 meals a day and 3 other bottles - he is a big guy :) it was a trial and error thing. I just decided one day to give her a full bottle at bedtime, which is at 7.30pm and she slept right through. Mentally, I did prepare myself to wake up at wee early hours to give her a lil milk tho. :) i do think that routine bedtime preparation did help. Warm quick bath, oiled her down, bed time story and popped bottle in. :D

I don't know! The docs keep telling me that after six months she no longer needs a night feed, and that her feed at night is more for comfort than hunger. Plus everyone else I know seems to have stopped their babies when they were weeks old as oppose to months old :( I am like you though and figure that her night feed will ultimately stop at some stage which is what happened with my eldest daughter, particularly once I give up breastfeeding. At the moment I don't have the heart to give up breastfeeding, as she seems to want it and its good for her, so I figure I will do that until she's a year old. hhmm.. i bfeed DD til she was about 1. She did get her bmilk at bedtime but I think it's just a little..that's more for comfort as I've already given her solids at that age. I met Cecile and she said to still continue night feeds til she's one. I also started on formulas as her night feed around that age, which i forgot to add, as that is more filling that b/milk.

Hi Reynee, I'm kind of going through the same thing, but with one baby not twins. My LO is also 8 months old and still wakes up once or twice at night to feed. I'm still breastfeeding and I know that I should stop the night feeds as she no longer needs them, but in all honesty its the easier option than having her cry, particularly as I have to wake up to go to work. We are getting slightly better now and there are days when she will sleep straight through. She sleeps later than your children (around 9-10) which is because I work and so I want to spend maximum time time with her. I feed her before she sleeps and now she sleeps through until 4 or 5, but generally she does wake up still wanting to breastfeed. I think she does it more for comfort than hunger, so I am trying to only feed her until she falls back to sleep for a long time to fill her stomach. I'm trying to slowly wean her off nightfeeds completely and do leave her to cry sometimes when she ultimately falls back to sleep. I figure we'll get there eventually, even though it's slower than many other children. I think you should try giving them a late night bottle for now, and then ultimately you need to stop even that. The other option is why not have them sleep in separate rooms? Do this at least for a while until they get used to sleeping through the night and then put them back together if need be, but at least they're not waking each other up. Slowly I think this will help maintain a routine. why are you trying to wean her off her night feed? at 1 year, DD automatically stopped her dream feed as i give her milk before bedtime.

When DD was at that age, I give them a dream feed at 11pm before I went to bed. That way, she slept right through til 7 and I got a full night's sleep. ETA: I know that bubs get dream feed til about they are 1 yo edited by shjbelle on 13/03/2012 edited by shjbelle on 13/03/2012
