I looked on a real-time earthquake map and nothing around here except a 4.3 magnitude quake on 16 June, near Akbarabad, Iran... Very mysterious! On the one I looked at there was an earth tremor in RAK this morning http://seismology.ncms.ae/ edited by twilight on 19/06/2012 I immediately looked at real-time earthquake too!! none reported so far!

My front door shook, opened and no one there. Safa area. It's definitely localised. Just went out and nothing going on anywhere.. it's not anything to do with metropolitan hotel being knocked down? Doing a Fred Dibner on it? That happened to me yesterday around 5.15pm then again about 10 mins later. Door shook and I thought someone rattled it. No-one there when I checked. Second time I thought it must be wind...but there wasn't any. I had forgotten about it until you mentioned it. How freaky is this? Exactly 5:15 and 10 minutes later and today 7 , OMG it might be the construction work around this area!! trying to calm myself down :)))

apple lasts forever! and you can buy a macbook pro for around 5000 but if you want something really basic, go for a netbook acer (the samell laptops) costs around 800AED. and available at carrefour

Hi Ladies, I ve got the keratin material and decided to do my own treatment this time. I have been doing keratin for the last 4 yrs. Now Do you think I could just do the treatment for my fringes only?? or I need to do the whole hair?! I just need the front part of my hair straight as I like to keep curls for the rest of hair! whats your thoughts??? TIA

Hi MArt, I did so much reading and research about his procedure and almost got it done with Dr. Khan but had some issues with my mamo and did not do it. And after the incident i actually got cold feet and decided not to do it here since i read and heard so many opposite opinions about the surgeons here. And the cost of surgery here is the same as paying for ticket and getting the job done in USA. So actually didnt do it. Did go to two consultation Dr. Khan and Dr. Imran. Was happy with first and not at all impressed with second one. Good luck and wish you best

with little children, no question! Villa , 100% my daughter is only playing outside with other kids in compound, i can not imagine living in apartment with kids. and i recommend living in compound since they always find friends and are always busy. I live in um suqeim, and I LOVE IT, close to mall of emirates, close to spinneys, BEACH, Good schools, good educated people.

It's a conditioning treatment that smooths and repairs the hair. I have naturally wavy hair if I don't blow dry it straight but after having the kerastraight treatment I can wash my hair and leave it to dry naturally and it's pretty much straight. There is no way I could have done that before it would dry into a wavy, frizzy mess! I do use the hairdryer most days but my hair is in much better condition so it doesn't need much styling. so which salon you preferred? i heard Salon Ink does kerastraight as well.

Well, I did keratin at so many different salons, once used QOD and my hair started falling like crazy!! I heard coppola is a good brand as well. Salon Ink does kerastraight brand but its pricy! dont know where to go really, i have never been 100% happy about any so far really. Once did cadivu and it was beter than the rest. But if you have had a good experience and not pain a leg and arm for it please let me know! i can not stand summer without keratin !! Thanks

Hope it settles down soon :)) im sorry didnt mean to scare you :)) but im laughing now... yes it was terribly painful, i suggest you apply Emla cream 30 minutes before you go for the seesion. But its strange , i didnt feel any pain last time in another clinic!!

Well Aliya, You should know grass is not greener on the other side! because here is a mother who works full time. Its like drifting my blood away everyday. wake up 6, prepare breakfast, get child ready to school (7Yrs old) drop her to school, rush to work, work like crazy, come back dead tired, pick child , sit and observe her homework, cook, clean, wash, give bath and put her to bed. then again wash, clean, cook, prepare for her snack and lunch school and soooooooooo onnnnn, and by 10 whoeday is gone without a minute of relaxing! and drop dead in bed. So be happy, believe me , its not easy the other way around. it is much worse! Just relax, make some time for yourself, make a online buisness for yourself, cooking class at home, be innovative. Or just relax and put fruit mask on ur face, something I NEVER have time for!!

Perhaps re-post asking people what their average bill is in the area/development you are looking to move to. Prices seem to vary so much from place to place / development to development and can be dependent on age of villa, size of villa, district cooling etc. thats right. I live in Um suqeim, summer bills are around 3000-4000 for 3 bedroom villa!!

I had a very similar situation TWICE with two maids! this is their trick! I had many years of misery with these people and recently (a month ago) could not take no more! so when she said she wants to go , i said please madam!! go and good bye and I am never going for another full time maid, I am so happy now, 7 years with maid and now maid less! I swear the house work is overwhelming and i work full time but i was so sick of their stories! provoke her by saying, ok i will cancel your visa and you can go! see how she reacts! <em>edited by sima on 22/03/2012</em>

I have had great experience with laser over the past two yrs, have done all over my body :) 1. How long would it take for upper lip and chin and over how many sessions? you need 6- 7 sessions , however, it wont go forever, you need to retouch evry 3-4-5 months depending how it grows 2. Can I wax in between or do I have to walk round looking like my husband? no waxing at alllll 3. Does it have any adverse effects on your skin? no adverese effects 4. Any recommendations on where to go and how much it should cost? remember there r many types of laser machines, Diode and ND Yag are the best. I go to Facial Clinic in Jumeira, and they are greattt, K med is also very good, have done underarm there, they usually have very good deals on cobone. chin should not cost more than 300 per session but i saw 99 a session on cobone recently.
