does anyone know whether the rules in AD have changed on the sponsorship of families/maids etc today? we have just been told we cannot sponsor our child as the tenancy contract (which is Ejari attested) is in our company name, and we now have to have in an individual name, this isnt possible as the company has just taken the agreement out and prefer for us to have it in their name.

Emirates left my DS in Macdonalds when there was a flight delay, i only knew as he borrowed someones phone and rang my father in the UK, who rang me, they had not called anyone. All my LO fly UM between here and UK and other than the above incident we have never had a problem and the kids generally love it as they get spoilt.

I know there have been a lot of questions on here recently about school pick ups, I have been using a taxi for my maid to collect DD, never been happy about it but no other option really. Had the usual dramas, taxi's not turning up, not wanting to wait etc etc. Today i used Careem.com, and from start to finish they were brilliant, I emailed rather than used website, they did it all for me, including telling me how to track my driver with my very precious cargo via GPS, emailed me a receipt and all at very short notice and nothing was a challenge. I dont work for them i just want to offer some help for the other mums out there in a similar situation to me!

Thanks Chelle11, we are really sad as we like living there especially with all the shops opening now, its going to be a good place to live, but not if you want to use your terrace :( its been horrible for a while, those pictures in the lobby are from my garden from a 2 day period when i decided not to clean it up. A table has been smashed when something large was chucked over. The worst thing is I assume because of the nappies the main culprits have children and surely they would not want their children playing in other kids dirty nappies? and its the night time nappy that gets thrown over every day, why cant it go down the chute??

Thanks Beebers, we know stuff blows off and that's understandable the wind picks up lots of items, we can see people throwing the items some of the times though, one maid above us tips her dirty bucket of water over our washing regularly so we now keep it inside! We have spoken to the management but they are worse than useless, our landlord has now gone to the head of the property group as we have told him we are moving out because we only got the apartment so we would have a garden for dd, which we now can't use. Someone threw something very large recently and it smashed our glass table which was the final straw. The cigarettes really worry me to, we have had all our furniture burnt and I hate to think what would happen if something caught alight. I am afraid we will be moving to a cleaner community as we never have had this issue before :(

Ladies your help is needed because we are at our wits end, if you live on a high floor and either your maid or you throw the following items off your balcony please please can you stop. Pregnancy tests (negative ones) Dora night time pampers nappies (used) other very unsavoury items, blonde hair dye colour, pistachios but shells, dirty used tissues, a oak cake sort of dish, and finally lit cigarette ends. My daughter cannot play outside in our garden, she has nearly been burnt by cigarettes and she really shouldn't have to play around other children's dirty nappies. I don't know why anyone would think its ok to throw their rubbish out over their balcony? I am sure it isn't an expatwoman but if you know someone who does is please ask them to stop. Sorry for my lengthy rant but we can take no more it's unhygienic and really not very nice.

Hi we had everything taken off us in Amsterdam from dubai (only 2 bottles) but they took the lot! I wouldn't risk any liquids in schipol airport as they are really strict and it's our normal route home

good point i am assuming it is the child running it maybe an animal as thats what it sounds like! but dont worry my letter which i was planning on delivering with a small gift of dates so as not to appear rude would simply say we are being disturbed most evenings at this time, and wondered if you would mind just keeping the noise down if possible?

I agree 10pm is not late but when you have to be at 6am for work and need your beauty sleep and it is night after night... The child is up till this point and isnt waking as i hear the conversations very clearly (the walls are paper thin it seems) I am going to pop a note through their door first of all just explaining that the stomping is the main problem and that its waking my DD and see if anything comes of it, if that doesnt help its off to security i guess but dont want to offend them, just want to get some sleep.....
