Aagh! just seen your post packers boxed up about 50 of our dvds yesterday so I guess they will be pretty busy ploughing their way through our 8 series of 24! and we can look forward to a huge bill if this is true. We did have something about dvds being on the list of limitations but it was very vague and didnt mention any costs so we just made sure we only left the genuine dvds and not any from the chinese lady. Could be a big mistake if I was you I would take all your dvds with you wish we had now (especially as I have just seen the malay equivalent of showtime!)

This is obviously the season for it with the cooler weather people are leaving their windows and doors open. We were robbed in a similar way 2 years ago just before xmas . We are in Jumeirah 3 Think they got in through a french door which hadnt been locked properly. Took the usual cash and phones although left all my credit cards etc and there were 2 laptops lying around which were untouched

What about the Dubai Museum or breakfast/lunch at the centre for cultural understanding, you could do a tour of Jumeirah Mosque and then lunch at the lime tree cafe or check out the hotels and see if any of them have any decent spa deals. Cobone and gonabit are advertising quite a few at the moment

Hi Zannie We have been to Hikkaduwa We stayed in the Asian jewel which is very nice (small boutique style no kids club or anything like that though) Our children are a bit older and one thing I would warn about is the sea is very rough with quite a rip to it. I would be quite worried with very little ones . We were there November which was just going into the dry season (had one afternoon of rain and one evening but temperature was ideal)

By coincidence I renewed my po box today online. It does ask for your id number but it is not an essential field yet so I think you will be ok at the moment if you havent got it. You do however need your passport and visa information
