Hi ladies - I am looking for some advice when it comes to docs required when you give birth and sponsoring a baby.
Baby is due beg of June and delivering at City (just before ramadan starts) and my husband's passport and residency will have less than 6 months validity by that point. His HR dept has just told him that he must have his passport and residency renewed by the time they process our baby's visa through his company.
Going by your experience, should we:
- fly home this long weekend to renew his passport with a 4 hr express service, which means he'll be able to renew his residency next week and will have all in order before baby arrives (expensive option)
- renew his UK passport online and DHL it to the UK this week with a view that it could take at least a month to be sent back - by then, the baby will have arrived so we would need to wait until his passport is back before we are able to process his residency (will be ramadan by then so could be delays), then the baby's birth certificate before sending off for her UK passport and then finally her residency sponsorship through his company. City has informed me that they only need a copy of his passport when we are admitted into the hospital however BabySteps have informed me that they need his original passport in order to process the baby's birth certificate. I understand we also have 30 days to add her to a health insurance plan Allianz (which I would like to do through my company instead of husband's due to better coverage) and they only need the birth notification rather than a birth certificate so shouldn't be a problem there. We also have 120 days from date of birth to have birth cert, passport, residency visa and emirates ID card in place however I was planning to fly home 1st or 2nd week of Aug with my mum so this may not be possible?
- hold off from renewing husband's passport and residency until after the baby is born and she receives her passport back from the UK. Then he renews his passport and residency during July (after ramadan) before processing baby's residency under his sponsorship. Would it matter or cause issues that his old passport would be linked to her birth certificate when born but then when it comes to residency processing, he will have new passport and residency details?
- sponsor the baby under my residency (always was under the impression we would do this) however do I need to provide immigration proof of financial stability etc and various other docs i.e tenancy contract which is under husband's name instead of mine? How do I do this if my maternity leave pay will run out in a few months - I can't seem to get through to the immigration helpline to ask them these questions......
Any help or advice would be really appreciated and please correct me if I am wrong with any of the points I mention. This is what I seem to have grasped from looking online and calling around as of now.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a salon/clinic that can offer fine hair extensions or hair systems for sufferers of trichotillomania. I have set up an appointment with Lucinda Ellery when I am back in the UK however I would prefer to find a solution in Dubai.
