Thanks so much for the recommendation Sophie, its annoying isnt it. I cant remember the last night i slept fully :( spend most of the evening in the bath or curled up in a ball with my hot water bottle. Off to see my gynae this morning incase it related to anything here, as ive loads of problems in this area too. Will definitely be giving them a call. Thankx, i hope you have a pain free day :) Hi Nickym1d, oh, sounds as though there are a few things going on, I would say after reading some of the comments from this thread, there's nothing like a personal referral from someone suffering similar problems but many factors have to be taken into consideration, a persons age, lifestyle etc, and to the person who said that Chiropractors are not doctors well I'm sorry to say this but you are 100% wrong, I had a discussion with Dr. Charles when he opened his practice in healthcare city and he told me that the licensing procedures were extremely strict. He trained for 8 years and yes, he qualified as a doctor in the USA. Now chiropractors from the UK, Australia do not study for the same period of time, so I cannot comment on this but i know the doctor I visit can legitimately use doctor. What the department of health allow in Dubai as far as licensing is another matter, as this is an entirely different licensing board to Dubai Healthcare City, no where near as strict.

Ladies Can anyone advise would it be a chiropractor I would need to see for a problem with my pelvis /lower back?? Ask for either Dr. Charles or Dr. James Boyle, as I have been treated by both and have always been more than happy :)

I would agree with morning glory you really don't need to use a financial advisor, I would contact a few banks directly to see what loan terms they are offering for mortgages. I know RAK Bnk were offering mortgages start with them. Good luck

Hi Brains, I can highly recommend Susana who works at the California Chiropractic and Sports Medicine Center in Dubai Healthcare City, she is from Portugal and has so much experience having worked for 16 years with the Portuguese national football team, DH raves about her as he had to see her after undergoing surgery., my advice would be to use a health professional for something as specific as lymphatic drainage a spa will not be able to provide the correct type of massage you require. 044298292

Hi We have a cat whose been with us since last 21/2 yrs and we keep the balcony door slightly open all the time for him to use the litter tray as well as to sun-bask. Cats are smart fellows they will get used to it in no time.... Sorry to disagree, cats are smart but very curios and like to go where they are not supposed to go, it's in their nature, a friend of mine lived in an apartment and even though they were careful the balcony door was left open one day and the cat went over the balcony. She was devastated. It's too risky IMO.

Hi bigmo, We were looking to replace bathroom tiles from another Ranches development and found the identical ones in the Maraqabat area ( the street close to the J W Marriott) you can find floor tiles and bathroom fixtures and fittings there. I started at one end and worked my way down the street. Just in case no one has any to spare.

The labour law applies throughout Dubai, a free zone is the same, yes, you are entitled to be paid 3 months compensation if you are terminated with immediate effect, and have not been given the correct warnings.

She's both a qualified Physiotherapist and Sports Massage therapist, she treated DH and he said she was amazing. Hi Anette, We have stayed at Aphrodite Hills the last 2 summers, it's a perfect location for the beach, visiting Pahos, Limassol or driving into the mountains. We usually hire a private villa directly from the owners, much cheaper than going through Aphrodite Hills. You can also use the hotel facilities whee there is a children's play area. There are at least 5 eating areas in the small village square, on site a supermarket for everyday items. I wouldn't go to a village as you will feel too remote. I agree with Jenc ,hire a car, it's a just. I would google Aphrodite Hills I guarantee you will love it, if your husband plays golf it has it's own golf course, also. You an book either an apartment or villa, but I would do it quickly as it will be busy with Easter bookings.

Hi there, when I lived in Jumeirah I used Audrey at Reflections salon on Al Wasel Road, a great tip is to use EMLA cream which you can buy from the pharmacy, leave on the 'area' at least 45 mins before the appointment. This will help to numb the pain. Good luck!

My niece who is 14 has also just been diagnosed with scoliosis, she is seeing Dr. Charles Jones and his staff for treatment and exercises at his clinic in healthcare city. He explained Its actually more common than you realize, however if diagnosed early and with the correct treatment and understanding that she will need to perform exercises for the rest of her life it can be managed successfully. Hi Candyfloss, during the summer our hot water also had a smell that was tinged with petrol (gas) I contacted DEWA, they checked the water directly from the mains and it did not smell of petrol, they thought it was coming from our tank but that was clean. It comes and goes, it seems to be worse first thing in the morning when no water has been through the pipes. Now that the weather is cooler it has disappeared. Really have no explanation but would love to know what causes it. Do you live in The Ranches by any chance?

Hi Slakhani, a friend of a friend recently went to Cyprus to have an op on their back, the surgeon was American, and apparently, he received first class treatment wonderful hospital in Nicosia he said. It seems as though many people are flying in especially from the USA as the healthcare costs in the states are so expensive and as they still receive treatment from a US surgeon they are very happy to make the journey. Ladies I would go to the expert in Dubai when it comes to colour Maria Dowling. I have literally had people follow me to ask where I have my hair colored, and I can guarantee after EVERY visit to the salon to have my color re done someone will compliment me on my hair colour. 04 4254225 for an appointment I have been going to her for over 14 years, so I can safely say I'm a very happy client :)

I agree with Beebers, Laura Mercier is the best, collect the translucent powder next time you're out of the country, or ask someone to buy for you. In this heat I'm using Bare Minerals, the only thing with staying power when you're in and out of the car.

Sadly as like most other salons the standards are falling at Chi, terrible pedicure I actually pointed out that you could still see the hard skin on my heels and they suggested I try the pedicure for callouses next time, instead of admitting they hadnt done their job. They also do not use an autoclave to sterilize their equipment.... The nail spa is now open in Arabian Ranches Golf Club so will try them.

I know Dr. Helle who is from Denmark working at California Chiropractic and Sports Medicine Center sees a lot of children, whilst sitting in the waiting area I have seen infants and younger children waiting to see her. I read a recent posting on their Facebook page from a very happy mother whose son had an allergy to horses,it seems he visited Dr. Helle and he's now riding. http://www.facebook.com/pages/California-Chiropractic-Center/119226158140195 Hope this helps :)

Australua Judy, The person you're looking for is Susana, a fabulous Portugeuse lady who used to work for the Portugeuse national football team, I would guess uf her hands are good enough for Ronaldo's Legs they would be good enough to give you a real sports massage! My DH swears by her, and I'm guessing so do many others as she's usually very busy whenever I have to book his appointments! I go to Dr. Maurizio Viel at LCAS based in Dubai Healthcare City, I have been many times and have always been delighted with the final result and have recommended many of my friends. He uses genuine Botox, be very careful where you go the cheapest does not always mean its the best as you will find some clinics will dilute the Botox.:)

Hi garden lover, DH faced the same issue when the Masters was being played, the US Open is being shown on ESPN (although strangely its not advertised in the menu listings) its very straightforward, our provider is Du, we called, asked for our package to be upgraded to include ESPN( directly from the US) and Fox Sports I think it's an additional 30 Dhs per month, and you have to keep it or a minimum of 3 months, but it's the best thing my golf mad DH did, as there is so much golf, which includes programmes from The Golf Channel.They added the channels to our subscription, and within 10 mins the channels were 'live' one happy DH!:)

It's not the address that's the problem when buying Ralph Lauren, it's usung a UAE credit card, they only accept cards from certain countries, the UAE is not recognized (you can find the list on the website) Alternatively you can call customer service, place your order using a recognized credit card and still give your shop and ship address, I have done this and it works.

I agree with RubyRed, I have used Queens laundry inthe beach centre for the past 10 years have taken many expensive items to them and they do a superb job. I would highly recommend them.

I have mentioned Dr.John Bouillon on this site previously, he is excellent, he is Johns Hopkins trained, so has excellent credentials, and operates out if the American Hospital but carries out his consultations in Dubai Healthcare City at California Chiropractic and Sports Medicine Center 04 429 8292. My husband had surgery with him a few years previously and after visiting a few other Surgeons we were so happy we decided to use Dr. Bouillon,he's a first class surgeon.

Hi Ladies DH just informed me he has to go to Abu Dhabi to pay a speeding fine!!!! Apparantly if the speed is in excess of 40k over the limit they will impound the car for a month!! He will try to pay online first, if that doesn't work we have to go there.... does anyone know the closest vehicle registration centre to Dubai?Thank you:\:

Ladies I can recommend Maria Dowling hair salon, 04 345 4225 I too have had the Keratin treatment for the past 3 summers and it makes such a difference. I would also suggest using the recommended shampoo and conditioner for Keratin treated hair as this will help to prolong the treatment :)

Hi Ladies, sorry for the late reply hectic day yesterday, the black and white cat was shadow another members missing cat, happy he has been reunited with his family, but I know dissappointing for others whose cats are still missing. From experience cats who are found are usually discovered quite close to home. Fingers crossed the other missing cats mentioned will find their way home .
