Dr. John Bouillon in Healthcare City has both excellent credentials as he is Johns Hopkins trained, and has an excellent reputation. My husband used him when he required surgery on his knee, would highly recommend him.

Hi Nippy, just to let you know when we first moved into the Ranches ate last year, one of our cats went missing for 11 days, and came strolling in one night, looking much thinner, so don't give up hope. Also a good idea to hand the flyers to the security guards. I heard of one guard who knocked on every door in one of the developments when a stray cat was found until the cat was reunited with its owner.hope you receive good news soon :)

We have a subscription with Du, we called last night explained we wished to add the ESPN package, we were told to switch off the decoder, switch it on again and hey presto it was added to our channels....as simple as that. If you contact OSN directly if you're package is through them it should be pretty straightforward to upgrade. Happy husbands :)

Hi there, there is you're agent and the sellers agent, they should coordinate the next steps to tie, after all that is what you are paying him/ her for. As soon as both parties agree to the selling/ buying price you both sign an MOU, and more importantly both sign a cheque to the opposite party for 10% of the total cost. So if either party then backs out the other person will be able to cash this cheque. These are usually held by one of the agents. If you have already agreed mortgage terms with your bank they will then contact the seller, you will all have to meet to sign the pperework and approx a month later if everything is in order you proceed to the land department to put the property in your name. A that point all money owed for agents fees, fees to the land dept have to be paid that day. It is straight forward but your agent needs to be more proactive and if they are a member of RERA they should know this. Their ID will be checked at the land dept, and if they are not a member of RERA will not be allowed into the signing.

I agree with San, the salads are amazing at Baker and Spice, there are always at least 10 options to choose from, all fresh and healthy combinations. As a added bonus you can sit outside ( when the sandstorms have departed) and watch the fountains :)

I can second Div's recommendation Le Paradis is perfect if you have children,, lots of water sports which are included in the fees, additional payment for water skiing. They also have a golf course perfect for hubby's who golf. Their sister hotel Dinarobin is located on the same peninsula and is also really nice, smaller than Paradis, and guests can use both facilities, restaurants etc. we have stayed at both hotels and they really do like children. I wouldn't hesitate to book at either hotel, my preference is Dinarobin, lovely villas that surround their own pools, which are scattered throughout the development, all recently upgraded. We used a great agent based in the UK, let me know if ou require her contact details, very helpful :)

To Pomegranite.....EVERY company, small business, corner shop, mobile hairdresser,, you name it requires a trade license to operate a bussiness. The free zones in Dubai, Jebel Ali, Dubai Airport, JLT, Dubai Healthcare City also require a trade license to operate, they are only allowed to conduct business within that freezone.

Eli1979 honestly if you're back is as bad as you describe you really do need to seek the advice of a Doctor, you need to find out what is causing the problem, only that way can you start to treat the case not just the symptoms the way a Physio would do. I have always used Dr.Charles Jones 04 4298292 . He is very thorough, have recommended many friends to him. Remember this is you're back we are talking about, I would want to seek a Doctors opinion, something like a sore shoulder I would seek a physio but not my back.

I agree with Plum2, just moved into AR a few months ago and went through the same choices, we decided that AR was a more completed community, whereas VH feels like a building site, surrounded by unfinished skyscrapers, and no idea when they will be completed. We were looking to buy and have to disagree we thought the finishing standards in Alvorada much higher, and as Plum 2 said some Palmeras are a great size, some owners have also extended giving even more living space. Lovely bike trails and play areas for children.

Dr. Charles Jones also in Dubai Healthcare City has sorted me out and numerous fiends he really is the Guru of bad necks and bad backs and an expert on anything sports related. For anything as serious as a disc problem or sciatic nerve pain I wouldnt trust a physio you needs to see a Dr to get his opinion, he can then refer you to a physio but for something serious you need someone with experience. I wouldn't trust anyone else in Dubai , he has magical hands, and you can certainly trust what he says omething quite rare I find in Dubai. 04429 8292 Good Luck edited by Sophie27 on 19/01/2012

Hi Bird, we visited for the first time last July, we rented a lively villa with pool at Aphrodite Hills directly from the owners, a really helpful British Couple, and it was fantastic. Overlooking the golf course, husband played daily, restaurants on site, supermarket also there but little pricey or a 10 minute drive for more competitive prices if you want to do your own bbqing. We were 25 mins from Paphos, lovely beaches and other cultural activities. 25 minute drive up into the Trudos mountains. We loved it so much we booked to go back again this year. I can give you the link to the villa if you're interested. 2 bedroom, maid once a week, the owners send you a cery comprehensive list of rearaurants in the area, places of interest etc, can highly recommend it :)

Hi Dubaigirl, We just moved into Alvorada 2 months ago, we love it here. As you say the development is newer in certain areas such as Alvorada, Mirador, Le Collection. I would totally agree with clairehdp, bills depend upon the size of garden house etc, but we just paid 3,500 for a DEWA bill for 6 weeks and this included a sprinkler system for the garden and pool. If you have not secured a realtor yet I can highly highly recommend the one we used he was WONDERFUL! And let me tell you I tried a few before meeting Adam, and heis a breath of fresh air in comparison to the others. He secured a wonderful deal for us on a wonderful house. If you would like further details let me know. We love living here, and if you have dogs they will love it too, as EMAAR are one of the few developments which welcome them :)

Ladies, the reason the salon prices are high is because they pay for a trade license, rent, pay for staff visas, salaries. They are inspected by the municipality to ensure all the products used are safe and will not harm either the client or members of staff. There are quite a lot of dangerous products out there which claim to be keratin and in fact are highly toxic....would you know what you're buying, would you know the difference between something safe or something that could damage your lungs? Im very surprised that Expat Woman allows their site to be used in this manner, it is potentially dangerous and to be honest illegal.

I would go to Dr.Mauriio Viel in Healthcare City, he is so pleasant, very easy to talk to, I have seen his results which are wonderful. He has a beautiful clinic where he carries out all his procedures. You know the standards are high for any clinic operating within Healthcare City, which is comforting for a anyone thinking of undergoing surgery.

Not such a happy experience with them... i guess they like doing small jobs but trying to get a quote back from them took 10 days and the excuse was that 'they were busy' well i guess they won't be for too long if they don't follow up on customers already visited... the call out fee is deducted from any work carried out... good luck!

we visited Cyprus for the first time this summer, husband avid golf fan so we stayed at the beautiful Aphrodite Hills. I rented a 2 bedroom villa with its own pool directly from the owner in the UK and it was just perfect right on the golf course about 45 mins drive from Larnaca airport. We took the Emirates flight that left dubai at 08.30 and were in the villa by 1pm, sitting by the pool wine in hand by 3pm... really perfect. We enjoyed it so much we have already booked again next summer. We were approx 20 mins from Paphos and 10 mins from the new Nick Faldo golf course, Elea. Stunning beaches in the area also :)

I agree 100% with the previous posting please please do not try to save money we are talking about your face.... I too go to Dr. Viel at the London Centre for Aesthetic Surgery, he is an absoloute wizard when it comes to botox, he will not leave you with a frozen face, I wouldn't go anywhere else. 04 3752396 At the end of the day you really do get what you pay for, and using discount coupons for botox is seriously asking for trouble, it could be thinned down with who knows what....
