Hi, I had the same problem, DD got really constipated on Aptamil 2 (the equivalent to Aptamil 3 for you) and I put her back on Aptamil 1 and she's fine. I recommend you switch back to Aptamil 1 and for the iron etc your baby needs, add other things to the diet, you can even put soluble biscuits in the milk bottle, they have added iron and calcium etc. DD was going off drinking milk she wanted solids instead (happens to a lot of babies) so I add Farleys date rusks (quarter of a biscuit to 180ml) and she gulps it down. With every meal give lots of water, my rule is 2 bites of food and then I give her her sippy cup, that's also really made a difference.

I just enrolled my 10 month old DD in Cooper Nursery, we were able to enroll the same day since it's new and not full, there are 8 other babies in her class. We are really happy with it, very clean and organized, staff is great and very helpful, no complaints! I have posted more in the Nurseries & Schools forum about it.

I got mine from Daiso in Lamcy, but the new Daiso in Dubai Mall is much bigger, it's near Waitrose on the LG floor. It's A4 size so 21cm x 30cm *approximately

I just want to post we enrolled 10 month old DD at Cooper Nursery and we are loving it so far! We looked around at a few others in the area, but Cooper felt very proper and CLEAN (I felt like the books and toys at some nurseries were rotting and grimy, the ones here were shiny and new). The staff is lovely, the baby section has 4 nurses who watch the babies, yes trained nurses, and the lady in charge is a midwife herself so has a lot of experience with LOs. They keep a ratio of 2 babies to 1 nurse. They also have an option of baby yoga lol (not part of the curriculum). You can really see the attention to detail in everything that they do, from the daily report to the way the nursery is laid out and the toys/activities they have, and the decor is cute and friendly. The villa it's in is a quite spacious with lots of rooms and sunlight. Would highly recommend this nursery! edited by sourskittleashnut on 13/05/2013

I wanted this too! So I went to Daiso and got their A4 plastic trays that are stackable drawers, the whole thing cost about 84 dhs (6 trays, 6 drawers each at 7 dirhams) and works perfectly, very light weight too, and you can have as many drawers as you like, I have 6 but I'm just a make up nut Here is a pic of mine :) Drawers closed: [url=https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4172972/attachments/IMG_2422.JPG '>link[/url'> Drawers open: [url=https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4172972/attachments/IMG_2423.JPG'>link[/url'> edited by sourskittleashnut on 13/05/2013

Omg your post title is my worst nightmare, since my 10 month old is still waking at night and I'm desperately trying to stop the night wakings! She goes back to sleep now with the pacifier, have you tried it? She keeps sucking hoping for milk and nothing happens so she goes back to sleep. In the beginning she would get really angry and scream and cry but I ignored it and kept giving the pacifier, refusing to give the bottle. So now she doesn't have milk but is still waking for the pacifier (argh) but at least popping a pacifier back in her mouth is better than making a milk bottle at 3am. Also is she eating enough in the day? The days my LO hasn't eaten properly she's more prone to waking at night. I know our LO's are a few months apart in age, but HTH :)

Oh I take the metro to Dubai Mall a lot. When you come out you'll be across Sharaf DG, keep walking right and a few shops later you'll be at Virgin and KinoKuniya (Book World). Keep walking, an intersection comes up (Jackys and Samsung on your right, way to the Aquarium on your left.) Keep walking and after this intersection on your right you will see elevators next to the kids stores like Cacherel. These go down to LG and you will end up in front of Patchi. Go left and you will be at the intersection for the exit outside to the fountains area. So basically once you are out the metro walkway and in the mall, keep walking right till you come to the kids section with Cacherel, and take those elevators down. I'm not really good with directions so I'm sorry if this is confusing! edited by sourskittleashnut on 08/05/2013

NUK Orthodontic pacifiers are the best ones for us. I tried Avent and Tommee Tippee ones but DD didn't like them, even though she drinks from Tommee Tippee bottles. You can get NUK from any Babyshop, and they also sell the NUK chains with them too so you can clip to bigger babies so they stop dropping them!

Yup you can, you need a high-res scanner so the image can be enlarged, and a photo printing place like Portfolio in Mercato to print it on canvas for you - they might be able to scan it for you too. Also, it may need a bit of photoshopping to look better at a large size, which I think Portfolio does as well. edited by sourskittleashnut on 08/04/2013

Theres a stitching place in Mercato below Spinneys, havent tried them but they looked professional. I got my prom dress stitched from Dream Girls tailors in Bur Dubai but that was 5 years ago lol, they did a fantastic job though, I went to their store recently and they seemed to be closing down, not sure whats happening with them, maybe give them a call?

I used Dubai Maids once, they sent 2 maids for 2 hours, but they were talking to each other a lot of the time, and one of them had an attitude problem when I asked her to do something, and they didn't do a very good job even though it was 2 people. I have Molly Maid come for 2 hours, and their maids do a better job in the same amount of time even though it's just one person! I highly recommend Molly Maid, have been using them for 2 years now, I've used 6 different maids of theirs but now I have a regular from them, but all of them cleaned to a high standard. edited by sourskittleashnut on 08/04/2013

I'm looking for a playpen that we can adjust the size of. The Graco ones seem too restricting, and we'd like space for DD to crawl around. Something like panels that can be folded away easily too. The space we have is rectangle and quite large so I guess a play yard would be more accurate. Any suggestions?

We used Aptamil, but AR can cause constipation, so we used Comfort too and it suited DD just fine. You will need a teat #2 or vari-flow teat since the formula is thicker. We used Tommee Tippee teat #2, the vari-flow seemed too fast but a lot of people prefer vari-flow, you can buy it at Mamas&Papas.

I dip a normal spoon into ice cold water, and hold it while LO bites on it - she goes from screaming to biting happily in about 2 seconds :) I have Sophie too, LO loves biting it but when she's hysterical it doesn't help, try the spoon

I have used Manuri for 4 cakes in the past - her chocolate cake is amazing and moist, people always ask me who made the cake! Her decorating is very neat. From what I remember she takes 250dhs per kilogram, but the last time I used her was a year ago. Here are her cakes for boys: [url=http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.188670867840064.41875.153007031406448&type=3'>Manuri's Facebook Page[/url'> I sent her a picture of a cake I found online, and asked her to copy it, and she made it even better than the picture :) She's located near Safa Park edited by sourskittleashnut on 03/04/2013

Hi ladies, I'm new to the metro (only taken it once!) but I want take my 8.5 month old out around noon, what are my options if I take the metro, any baby-friendly places? I could just walk around malls but I'd like for something for her to do/look at. Are there any baby classes that I can metro to, something like Kidville/My Gym. It's getting hot now so I can't walk too much once I reach the station. Thank you!

My DD has always been very clingy but now she's just getting worse! I thought by her age (8.5 months) she would be able to play on her own for some time, but she can't! She likes being held but I don't do it a lot, I sit and play with her, but the second I leave she starts crying and getting upset until I come and sit with her. If I leave her on the bed with her toys and I'm 4 feet away on the computer, it's still not enough, she needs me there next to her playing. It's not just with me, she's like that with everyone, she needs someone with her all the time. Since it's just me at home and DH is at work most of the day, I have to be with her the whole time, I can'y get anything done, even kitchen work I put her in her high chair but after 5 minutes since I'm not next to her and I'm moving around, she gets upset and cries and flings her head back (very dramatic!) until I come to her. Same for her jumperoo, I cant ignore her when she's in it she wants me talking to her. I'm not sure how to encourage her to play on her own. I'm getting her a playpen, but even then I'm sure she'll want me sitting inside it with her! Any help/advice really appreciated

I'm looking for medium-sized organza bags - not the tiny wedding favors type. I went to Dragon mart but it was so confusing I only found 2 shops that had them and they were small with golden hearts on them - I want plain colours. Does anyone know where I can get plain ones from? Going to check Daiso when I can, but please suggest any other shops since this thread is quite old there might be new places. Thanks!

You can get all kinds of diapers shipped here from Amazon.com, though shipping charges are annoying at least you get what you're looking for! They have Pampers Swaddlers Sensitive Diapers: click [url=http://www.amazon.com/Pampers-Swaddlers-Sensitive-Diapers-Economy/dp/B004Q8FG0G/ref=lh_ni_t?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER'>link[/url'> I'm not sure which brand you are looking for, but in the product description as long as it says 'Ships from and sold by Amazon.com' they will ship to the UAE. It takes between 3 - 10 days for orders to arrive. Worth having a look on Amazon, or if you can tell me the brand and product name I can have a look for you to see if they'll ship to here, I'm quite an avid Amazon shopper :)

I second Gift Vouchers, parents always need things for a baby so this way they can choose and get things they actually need. When DD was born, most people gave me such useless gifts, most of them really ugly clothes from nice stores like Mamas & Papas (why??) I would so much rather have received a gift voucher and bought things of my own choice.

Have you tried Pampers Premium Care? They are of a nice cotton material, DD had a horrible diaper rash when she was born and these were the only ones that suited her. Hi ladies, Just to update, I've found a maid (alhamdulilah) through Dubizzle - it definitely took alot of filtering though so be prepared to go through a alot of annoying phone calls!. One maid committed to me, and then when she was supposed to come in the morning for a trial she made me wait all day for her and didnt pick up my calls, finally at night she picked up and said the salary I was offering was too low, I dont know why she had to make me wait at home all day for her to tell me that!! Anyways there are some good maids on there too! edited by sourskittleashnut on 11/03/2013

PS Where did you all buy your Maxi Cosys and what budget approx please? It seems to be the most popular here.... I got mine from Mom&me for 700dhs on sale, its also available from Mothercare for 1050dhs!! Quite a price difference.. Babyshop stocks them too if you go at a sale time I'm sure you can get a good deal on all the Maxi Cosi seats. The Maxi Cosi I got from them now in the bigger size was 25% off, so a pretty good deal!

Yup I'm definitely going to try real yogurt, I didnt know it was okay for them to eat just regular yogurt! Will get the Organic one just to be safe :) [b'>@sydneygal[/b'> thanks for the tips, DD doesnt like banana avocado and carrots (the only 3 things I've tried so far), I've pureed all of them so maybe thats the reason? She takes a few bites then spits it out and screams if I give more! I am going to try Baby Led Weaning, hopefully she'll eat fruits and vegs then!

Has anyone tried a Baby Food Mesh for baby led weaning? You can put the food inside it and baby sucks on it to get the food out so they feel like they're eating and it's still safe since no big lumps can go through.
