i just bought a whole other wardrobe that takes over my entire wall (so if you include the closet I already have+the new one, then I've got two whole wall to wall closets). manage the darn thing? i can't, it looks like I need two more wall to wall closets.

sorry, I just get a massive pounding head ache and the desire to yell at everyone in sight. Gets especially bad on Thursdays... that happens to me around 2pmish. Everyday though, not just on Thursdays.

Khatoon, you start a lot of threads about not being in love, or bad encounters. Maybe it's on your mind too much?

us too! Glitter just quit her job and is now learning to be around her little boy all the time. I'm having fun watching her change diapers and act like a mommy. (I can't believe she's a Mommy!!)

I wish Glitter Punk hadn't been banned. Now I have to post on behalf of her. blah! banned? why? I like the sisterhood chats u got going... apparently she posted something offensive? (but glitter isn't an offensive writing type, so we're just as curious)

I wish Glitter Punk hadn't been banned. Now I have to post on behalf of her. blah! but we chose our names because we LOVE sparkly/glittery things. Glitter never leaves the house without some glitter (at the very least on her eyelids) and I wear something sparkly every day. (friends don't let friends wear glitter before noon, but GP can rock it!) edited by sparklepunk on 21/01/2011

I have a suitor in my home country and I have promised my mom that I will meet him and I will consider dating him and getting to know him with the possibility of marrying him The reason that my family is trying to find me a good husband is that I am almost 30 and single and not even in a serious relationship. They believe that I have lived alone for so many years already (13 years) and I should be looking for a more mature lifestyle and to get married. My attempts to meet the prince charming and tie the knots have failed many times and at times I have been the one telling them that I wish I was married and had someone to share my happiness and my sorrow. I have nothing against marriage, but I think marriage is for two people who love each other and do not want to be without one another. Do you think I should get married just because of my age or the fact most of my friends are married and have kids? The idea of getting married, just because a guy is suitable or he is rich or that I might be getting too old to find the right man I just does not sink in my head. Is there really a time and age to get married??? Would you marry a guy you didn’t truly love? It's really not about your age or marrying someone you don't like. I think the act of your family trying to get you to meet someone they've picked is more for motivational purposes if it's accepted that you can choose who you marry, and whom you enter into romantic relationships with. At the very least, meet the man and give him a chance to sweep you off your feet...at the very most go out and start your search for love, it might take a longer time than you anticipated or it might just happen right away, you'll never know if you don't try!

I'm back in London now. We'll be finishing all the final paperwork and then moving out. At this point I'm just going to back two weeks worth of clothing and live out of suitcases until I find a decent home. I messaged Cornish Pixie-- as soon as all the bureaucracy is dealt with maybe they'll help me out and let me change to CP, if not I'll hire her on my own and give him the finger. Our relo person wants us to live in the Marina (which isn't bad, but the places he keeps showing us--are just horrible).

your guess is as good as mine. our relocation agent wants me to sign on two flats that have an adjoining door so that i can have 'private time' with my husband and leave my son in the other apartment (raised eyebrow emoticon)

what exactly is angering you? is he just buying random junk he thinks he needs? or is he getting obsessed with expensive highly branded items --when perfectly decent and reasonably priced items would be suitable? (for example, freaking out over having to go to jimmy choo because christian louboutin doesn't have the right size/colour?) btw, is there a christian louboutin here? i've been looking.

do any of them post here? i'm seriously curious too! it's my last 24 hours in Dubai before I move here and I'm going crazy because I've been unable to figure out where to live. We'll end up living in a hotel until I can find something, ugh! Where will you be working or where will the school be, what's your budget, what do you want to be close to - come up with that and there are loads of us who can point you in the right direction. You should be trawling the streets if it's your last day - not on here!!!!!!! meant to say - no they are not on here! edited by Clairehdp on 16/01/2011 our relocation person is a fool so I've been everywhere except the places that I've wanted to see. It's okay though, our relocation package includes 90 days at a hotel for us to settle things.

yes, it works! son has been sleeping through the night since he was about 6 weeks old....but (and it's a BIG BIG BUT) watch out if you travel through time zones a lot. Re adjusting is a nightmare. We've been in Dubai a week and my son has adjusted his schedule so he sleeps from noon till 8pm (still sleeping). He'll wake up, want his shower then his breakfast and then he'll want to go out. So as a 2 yr old, his schedule is set and we all have to deal with it. I hope to God that when we get back to London it'll sort itself out.

Cornish Pixie knows what she speaks of! I wish I was using your services, our current relocation person (who was appointed through work) is a nightmare. I've been here in Dubai for a week and he's such a loser. He keeps talking to my chest and ignores everything I tell him I want.

hi Dubai Mom! I asked the same question a while back, but sadly not much info. you can search al barari and see what you come up with (search on this site). I'll be driving over there today to see what they are really like. I'm obsessed with a bromelia.

i'm in dubai and i read this last night, so i woke up this morning freaking out about this...no news? is there anyway we can help? perhaps make fliers? I have to go to the mall and get lots and lots of passport photos, I don't mind making a flier. for my own reference (and I know it's tasteless to ask on this this thread) but is this a place where I have to watch my child play in the front yard?

this happened to me (word for word) last month. Pretty much my ds decided that he was going to do this, and then I would put him in the bath (i think he was doing it for the attention+extra bath time). I've now incorporated a few extra sensory play (play dough and spools of thread for him to string a long a piece of yarn) and snap at the crotch body suits that he still takes off. I think it's a sign of being ready for potty training, but my DS doesn't show all the other signs except for telling me when he wants a change (he's not talking too much, only has about 40 words and he's 27 months old--so he's a little behind). I started a thread about my sons poo smearing habits on Mumsnet, and I got some great great advice. Look it up in the behavior and development section and I posted under the name EandZ. G'luck! (and it'll pass soon)!

bobby brown has the best eyeliner gels, but they aren't pencil. best pencil? I think the Urban Decay pencils are amazing, true to color and not harmful to my skin. they don't rub off after application either, where you draw the line, that is where the line stays till you take it off.

diorshow, diorshow iconic and now diorshow 360. if i had to choose between having a well stocked target or the last diorshow mascara (doesn't matter what color) I would choose diorshow. (it's THAT good).

...I think the US embassy accepts letters from the Father ... I know Glitter got her DS's passport without her DH. (and her DH is British) Did she have power of attorney? Not sure if it was power of attorney, but she did have to have get her DH to write a letter and then have the letter notarized...there should be appropriate information on the embassy website?

...where I come from we firmly believe that inlaws make the worst house guests. if i had them i'd push em off a cliff. since you seem like a nicer person, it's only fair that you ask your dh when this hostile take over of your home will end. it's your basic right. you've been disturbed and you have graciously put up with it.

jumperoo. GPunk used one of those for the first year and then when her ds started to refuse the jumperoo she got one of those baby leashes that have a baby backpack attached (her son wears the one with a giraffe and Glitter keeps the other end of the leash). When in serious need though she makes her ds wear a thudgaurd. you should google it.
