Have a look at salon educators (think they are in JLT). We had a lady come and talk to a group of us and do a make up demo. She was really good and the make up looked great!

Without hesitation I would also recommend Dr Bahgat. He is the loveliest man you could wish to meet and great with children. My daughter had grommets put in and removed by him and I couldn't have asked for a better doctor. My daughter also suffered with ear infections and since having the grommets they have stopped, well worth doing I think if that is what the ENT Doctor recommends.

If you fancy some cutting and sticking there is a website which has free bunting that you can print out. Think it is something like free fun fings or similar. Cheaper than the 60 aed I paid for bunting. Enjoy your tea and scones! :) <em>edited by Sprinkles on 30/05/2012</em>

We used Silver Fox too, did an amazing job in constructing our pool and the after care / maintenance is great too. Would highly recommend them.

Hi Xiana First of all I would like to say well done for taking the first step in making some positive changes for yourself. There seems to be lots of good advice on here about treatments for rosacea and I hope that one of them works for you. I too have rosacea and has already been said there doesn't seem to be any definite reason why some people have it and an exact way to treat it. I found that it was trial and error for me with what works and what does or doesn't irritate my skin. Anyway I just wanted to mention that clinique do a range called redness solutions (don't think this has been mentioned yet, but just skimmed through the post so apologies if it has), their calming cream is lovely especially if your skin is sore or itchy. They also do a nice cleanser and moisturiser. For foundation I use Bare Essensuals which has a great but light coverage. As I say you have lots of good but different advice here and am sure in time you will find something that works for you. Good luck and take care :)

I've been to see Dr El Hoshy a couple of times and would recommend him. Friendly and knowledgeable. He splits his time between here and the states but have never had a problem getting an appointment. Actually got his name from a previous recommendation on here. He is based at the Dental Spa, I don't have his number to hand, sorry.

Have a look at the Tune In Radio App, we use it here and can listen to any radio station anywhere in the world including Radio 4, it's brilliant! I'm not great at the technical side of things, that's DH's department, but if you have any problems let me know and I'll do my best to help or consult him that knows. :)

A small dog ran across the road in front of my car in Meadows 9 this morning. Think it may have come from street 5/6, had a drive around but couldn't see anything obvious. if you are missing your four legged friend, have him safely at home with me. <em>edited by Sprinkles on 04/02/2012</em>

I would recommend Silver Fox too. We used them to have our concrete pool put in and they were nothing but efficient, professional and reliable. From day one they turned up on time and worked hard all day every day. They were the nicest workmen too, so friendly. Big thumbs up from me!

They sound like Terrapins. Tortoises don't live in water and are vegetarian, turtles have flippers rather than legs. I would love to be able to help but have already taken on a friends tortoises and another dog, think my husbands head might explode if I bring another animal home, lol. How about trying Laura at Posh Paws, she may be able to find room for them or know of someone who is looking to take on a Terrapin. Sorry I can't be of more help.

My husband works in JLT and after many discussions in the office about the 'walking man' one of his colleagues decided to stop and ask the guy what he was doing. Apparantly he is in training for an event that he couldn't disclose and as for the bag he carries it has rocks and a change of clothes in it. Not sure how true his answer was but he didn't appear to have any mental health issues.

Harvest Home near MacGrudys on the beach road has some lovely paper bunting, cardboard cake stands, cake cases etc. It isn't perhaps the cheapest option but the bunting etc can always be used again as it has nice picture designs etc but in red white and blue quite arty / pretty.

I was told that Dr Thomas Peters was now at the Meadows clinic (the one next door to the new petrol station). I've been to see him previously at Nicolas and Asp at the Marina and he was lovely. Hope this helps

We've been a couple of times and had a great time on both occasions. The food is delicious, roast beef and yorkshires, salmon en crout, apple crumble etc all very very good. Both times we took our children aged 4 and 7 and they had a great time too, they got to make their own pizza and decorate their own cupcakes (very brave of the restaurant to let them loose with icing and sprinkles) and they were also entertained by the clown / magician and the computer games and cartoons. There were lot's of families there when we went with children of various ages. I would highly recommend it!
