Uhad83 - I just got back from umrah about 2 weeks ago. I took my 3 year old and 9 month old with me. I was just like you nervous at the thought of handling two young kids whilst there - but Alhumdullilah everythign went well and Allah (SWT) did make it easy for you. Inshallah May He make it easy for you also and grant your Umrah and Duas, It really is an amazing experience, although tiring with young kids!!! I can't wait to go back inshallah. It was so sad to leave. If you leave me your email address I will email you with everything I can possibly share to ease your anxiety and also about my experience in handling my two young kids and doing Umrah. btw - I didnt vaccinate my kids and they were Alhumdullilah fine. We didn't get vaccinated either - big phobia of needles on my part!!! If you have any questions please dont hesitate to ask. May you have a wonderful time in Umrah. May Allah grant your Umrah and please do remember us in your Duas.

Hi EDF8 I have a NHS Approved one which I purchased from the UK. Used it for my 1st labour and thought it was brilliant. Haven't given birth without so can't compare. However, I am selling mine as my family is now complete :) If you are interested in purchasing it then please leave me your email address or contact number and I will email you back with more details. SGL

Hi Nutty and Sal Im up for meeting up. I have a toddler also, so a child friendly coffee place would be great if we meet in the afternoon. Where & When? Nutty, can you please tell me more about the Blooming Fit classes on a monday please. I would love to join. I had the 20 week scan last week and we decided not to find out the gender of the baby...although like you Sal, I may very well change my mind later on!!! Thanks

Hi I have checked all the baby shops, Ace and Dubai Garden Centre We have a large landing at the top of the stairs. The landing then looks down to the hallway. The banister has these metal poles that go across from one wall to another. Perfect for a toddler (which we have) to climb on and potentially fall down into the hallway or get her head stuck in between them and/or throw her toys down into the hallway. Moving in next week and we need to urgently have this sorted out. Im having nightmares of what could possibly happen if I don't get this sorted before we move in!!!!!! Banister guards are available in the UK and the US, but not in Dubai. So the next alternative is to have someone make us made to measure perspext or acrylic sheets that we can attach to the banister and baby proof the whole thing. Does anyone know of any companies/shops that provide this service? or anyone have any other ideas of what we can use to baby proof this? TIA

Tru Blu - thanks for posting on this subject. We to got our first Dewa bill today for the month of August - like you we have not yet moved in apart from popping in once every week or fortnight for less than an hour for deliveries. Apart from the Ac being used for the One hour we are there, we have nor used anything else....yet our First DEWA bill is a whopping 1559.50 AED!!!!!! We are in Umm Suqeim. I will for sure be doing what is recommend regarding the meters.... I got the bill via a text so I don't even hve a break down of all usage yet...just about manage to create a online DEWA account to check this, but have to wait a day before they process it - sigh... If anyone has any ideas as to why the DEWA bill could be so high even before we have moved in ,then please do shed some light on it. Thanks - SGL

We are in Umm Suqeim - I would really appreciate it if you can ask her, and maybe if she can give me a call or if I can have her number to arrange an interview if she is interested. Look forward to hearing back from you. Thanks.

Hi I know this is a frequently asked question on this forum, but can anyone recommend a honest reliable helper to us. We are a small british family (husband, 18 month old daughter and myself) and urgently require a full time maid. We will provide a good salary, accommodation, food, flights home, day off a week etc.... We need someone who is good at cooking, or at least has an interest in learning how to cook and someone who is good with children. If anyone knows of anyone or if you are releasing your maid then please email me or contact me on 0507487232. TIA
