Yes I went for a consultation where I was quoted 12k. Decided to try the clean 9 instead and FIT program instead which is a 69 day weight management program total cost for the 69 days was 2800. I've gone from a size 22 to 18 in 3 weeks I feel great am not hungry at all and get 1 to 1 support from the lady who sold it to me whenever I need it. TBO I've tried everything out there and this is easy to follow at no stage am I hungry or craving anything and it's got rid of my diet soda addiction. Happy to pass on the details of my lady if you want them.

Hi there, I am in Oman and I wanted to get a Labradoddle (to suit allergy and additional needs in our family) and looked at bringing one from Australia but was quoted $2500 AUD for the transportation (about 8,500 AED) so I thought I would see if there are any breeders in the region? thanks Labradoodles are not guaranteed to be allergy free they can sometimes get the Labrador fur instead of the poodle fur.

Our school gives authorized leave to students who need to leave outside of the school holidays. You have to write a letter to the head and explain why the children can't be at school and it's fine.

Any views on safa school? I heard some positive things from a few parents ? Anyone had any experience ? Also......I was just filling out their form and it says a self portrait of a child is needed if he's applying from fs1-2. Umm wisely question but what's that ? The child draws a picture of themselves.

FairyDust, this topic is about swimming with dolphins in Atlantis, not about protection of the animals. You should not be too aggressive imposing your points of view. Create your own thread and express yourself there. And yes, I dream to obtain an alligator bag! And I've got a mink coat already :) edited by marykar on 21/09/2014 It is the money that we pay to swim in these places that is funding the cruel murder and kidnapping of these animals. In Japan every September dolphins are trapped into bays where they are sold to aquariums from around the world. Those that are not bought are brutally murdered. If we didn't go to aquariums to see them perform or swim with them there will be no demand for these places to exist. I have watched both the documentaries and I am ashamed that I have contributed to this cruel enterprise. Apart from the distances these animals swim, their family pods are like our family units. They stay together for life until death or kidnapping by one of these institutions. They mourn their loved ones that have passed like we do. Like many people I bought into the line that they are being protected, it's good for our education etc. this is not the case. No one is trying to push their view onto anyone, we are just trying to educate and inform people of what happens to these animals so that people an educated decision. If you watch the documentaries and still think it's ok to keep these creatures in captivity then that's up to you..

Personally if she wants to go to Kish then I'd send her to Kish. Your legal responsibility ends the minute her visa is cancelled and she's gone through immigration. If she wants to risk getting stuck there then again her responsibility she's an adult. I wouldn't keep her for the month either as she is giving you more stress I would say fine, you want to go to Kish you can go today here is your ticket, cancelled visa and any money I owe you . Good luck and drive her to the airport. You don't need the hassle and stress of her sulking about. edited by starsouthern on 06/09/2014

I've been on a flight where the passenger behind me had reclined their own seat but when I reclined mine he started kicking it. I politely asked him to stop and he told me to f off and kicked the seat harder. Eventually cabin crew got involved he started shouting about how uncomfortable he was etc. Cabin crew moved me to BC and I had an amazing flight after that.

This question came up on the property show on the radio the other day. Basically the answer is there is no law saying they can or can't charge, therefore real estate agents are charging. The real estate company representative on the radio seemed to think dhs 500-1000 was a fair amount as it takes the agent time to print then get it to you to sign etc. Personally I think it's outrageous and wouldn't pay it. Also even if you are given 12 months notice correctly and the property is not sold by the end of the 12months you have the right to stay, the owners can't kick you out and rent it to someone else for a higher rate. edited by starsouthern on 29/08/2014

Thanks all! I will definitely check out Arabian Ranches, sounds lovely! As for the health insurance, on double checking it's actually more like 800AED per month (amounts are all listed in USD and my mental currency conversion is shocking), I don't know what other people receive/pay but to me, paying that amount for full coverage including vision and dental doesn't seem like a lot at all? Especially seeing as everything else is paid anyway. The only thing to consider that if for some reason you make a lot of claims on you health insurance then the cost of it might shoot up the following year. Has your husband asked about his company covering the whole family? It seems a little odd that they aren't, he is clearly on a family package and the norm (as far as I am aware) would be for coverage for the whole family. If you can get the company to pay for your health insurance than that is a bonus. CIGNA is definately one of the best insurance companies. Keep in mind that you are getting a discounted group rate from the company, most health insurance out here is paid yearly so the ability to pay monthly is a good bonus. It's not compulsory for companies to provide health insurance for employees families.

Thank you to everyone for their kind messages during this very difficult time. When I went to my regular 20 week check up they couldn't find my baby's heart beat. The whole experience was made even more horrific for my husband and I due to the fact that the drugs to induce my labour early are no longer available in the UAE. I ended up delivering our little girl at home, where I haemorrhaged out so our house was like a crime scene. Had to be rushed into emergency surgery where it was touch and go for awhile. The care I received at City Hospital was outstanding from the emergency department right through to the inpatient recovery. Dr Britt was amazing she saved my life and got me back home to my husband and other 3 children. We still can't believe what has happened and are taking each day at a time.

We just had a beautiful ring made for our mother at GEMS Mart in gold and diamond park. It's the first shop on the left if you come in through the entrance across the carpark from Just kidding. He took a long time to help us design and choose the right stones. We went to several shops that day and he was the only one who didn't care if we wanted small or large stones. He treated us like we were spending hundreds of thousands when we weren't.

Unfortunately at our 20 week scan no heart beat was found. Both my husband and I are heart broken. The UAE has banned the drug required to start the labour this early on. I'm too far along for a DNC so have to go through the complete labour and we have to wait for it to start spontaneously. The waiting makes this awful situation even more gruelling. I wish all the rest of the November mummies lots of luck and love. SS

Put the highchair in the kitchen or somewhere there is no TV. Then put food that she likes in front of her so she can eat herself finger food etc. That should distract her enough so you can put a spoon full of food into her mouth. Or you can put the new food in front of her so she could eat and explore it by herself.

Hi NP I'm looking for the same thing. I'm also with AETNA and they only cover the baby while the baby is in the room with you for I think the first 48hrs after that you can add baby on to your policy but you have to have baby's birth cert and passport. If anything goes wrong with baby and they have to go into NICU then baby is not covered and it becomes a pre existing condition so again you're not covered. I've asked a bunch of companies and they all seem to have the same policy.

We unfortunately had a member of staff pass away recently in our office. The driver in our office took care of all the paperwork but it took him a week to sort it all out. The hospital gave us a list of all the paperwork and offices to go to. To be honest it didn't work out any cheaper than using a funeral company and it was very stressful. These guys were recommended to us after the event. http://www.grafcome.com They take care of all the paperwork and organise the repatriation of the body. edited by starsouthern on 28/06/2014

Please be careful recommending mobile hairdressers on forums like this as it is illegal, even with a free zone free license. I know of three mobile hairdressers who've received the max 100k fine, served 1 month in prison and been deported in the last 4 months. How did they manage to pay the 100k before leaving the country? They've had family and friends help pay the fines some by taking out loans in their home countries sold cars, furniture etc. They've just had to get the money together. Two were from the UK one from OZ. To be honest I don't really know the full details of how the money side of it was dealt with and if the deportation was instead of paying the fines. How the fines were paid isn't relevant. I just wanted to make people aware that posting details could get some people into trouble so to be aware. You don't know who is reading or monitoring these sites. edited by starsouthern on 21/06/2014

I was in the same position as you this year, however I'm on Dh's visa so I didn't need the medical. I found out I was pregnant the second week I started my job, I had to tell my employer as like everyone else, who's posted below, I believe honesty is the best policy. I was kindly released of my duties during the meeting. During your probation time an employer can let you go at any time with no reason. I was really devastated as it was a dream job. I have since found work with another company and told them I was pregnant during the interview and they were fine about it. You also have to check if you are entitled to any paid maternity leave if you have worked less then 12 months.

Yvettesmom, one more question...sorry. My ex husband is now saying that he will only sign the letter if it stipulates that his son stays out there for a maximum of three years. How often does the visa or sponsorship have to be renewed? (grrr nightmare!!!!) If in a free zone visas are 3 years and not free zone they are 2 years. Isn't it the other way round? It used to be but was changed a couple of years ago.

Thanks for the replys/advice but I wanted to know more about negotiating the price - how much can you reduce the price when you make an offer? It also depends on property and area, a friend put her apartment up for sale at 1.2mil but people started calling her saying they'd give her 1.5mil she in the end got 1.9mil for it.

Love the way some people are such experts in Sharia Law. A woman can sponsor her husband, when he finds a job he needs to transfer to his own employment visa. I'm sitting here laughing that some poster wrote down below that it is Sharia Law that a woman can't sponsor her husband in the UAE! I wonder where they get the information from. It's simply not true. Actually only women in very specific professions are allowed to sponsor their husbands. These include teachers, nurses and doctors. I'm guessing that midwives could potentially fall into the medical profession, but you would need to double-check. I was not allowed to sponsor my dh when I came here 10 years ago, despite earning a good salary. Things may have changed since, but men and women are far from equal in terms of their ability to sponsor. You also have to have a University Degree or equivalent to sponsor husband and children. We've just had friends who had to go back as they came out for wife's job but as she didn't have a degree she couldn't sponsor the family. Despite earning well above minimum salary requirements and having a management position in a large company here. edited by starsouthern on 10/06/2014

If you register your contract with Ejari they have the bedroom plans that are registered. Also check what increase they are entitled to on the rental calculator. Our villa is registered as a four bed with Ejari but technically we only have 3 as there is no door on the fourth it's like a big landing so we had to pay the increase for a four bed.
