Some hospitals do it here as automatic routine if you are RH negative without asking you if your husband is also RH negative. My husband is so luckily don't have to have it done, but I too heard horror stories when pregnant with my first and I was petrified! Since then I've met lots of ladies who've had it and it was fine.

It is illegal to run a business without a licence. However many people do it look at all the mobile hairdressers that people recommend on here. If you are caught there is a fine of 50-100k. If it is a consultancy then you could argue you're just helping a friend out. If you are doing consultancy work for companies maybe one of them could give you a labour card.

I also love my City Select but bought it in the US. I use it for toddler and baby, it has plenty of room and sitting positions. Love how it's easy to steer and fits through shopping isles etc. If you buy the doubles kit it fits two car seats. It takes quite a few brands depending on the adapter you buy. I opted for the maxi cosi adapter.

Probably impossible but I'd love a full M&S food hall - there is nothing like it here. To be able to buy lovely quality, pre prepared meats which you just have to put in the oven would be great. Also free range chicken at a reasonable price. Oh and Tampax tampons as someone mentioned; why oh why do they not sell them here?! You can get Tampax here. I used to buy them from the pharmacy in Lamcy Plaza I havent purchased any recently as not been in there ( office move) I bought Tampax at Spinneys but they don't sell the compaq Tampax here anymore.

It's gone from 6dhs to 10dhs for peak hours which I think are 6am-10am and 4pm-8pm and then after midnight the 10dhs call out fee applies too. They said it's because they had a lot of complaints about taxis not accepting the call during peak times so they have put the call out fee up to attract the drivers to accept the calls.

Thanks. That was very helpful. Im glad we get a welcome pack with more information. Were very excited. :) Dont know why they dont like trolley bags though....guess I will just have to get a DESS school bag too. edited by Asti on 19/05/2012 Most schools say it's a health and safety hazard, I guess they can trip kids up.

My DS is going to DESS this September (FS2).:) I see on the shoolwebsite that a DESS schoolbag is only compulsory from year 3 onwards. Can my DS take any schoolbag to school during foundation? Also when are we informed which House Colour he is as I see the P.E. shirt collar must be according to the assigned house colour? School Shoes, are they just regular black school shoes made with leather? TIA. At DESS they don't like you to have trolley bags. Most people I know with kids in FS2 bought the DESS bag anyway. You will get a parents welcome pack towards the end of June with all the information re uniforms, PE house colours, your child's class and teacher etc. Remember though that the class colour isn't the same as the PE house colour. DESS is a lovely school.

Motion sickness occurs because there is a disagreement between perceived visual movement and our body's balance system sense of movement. So if you are in a car your body thinks your not moving but your eyes are telling your brain that you are moving. This conflict of what you feel and what you see triggers a reaction in the brain making your brain think that you have been poisoned, to get rid of the poison your brain sends signals to your body to throw it up. The ride in the front seat of a car is usually less bumpy than the back, in the front there is also more window space, watching the passing scenery can help confirm your body's balancing system that you are moving. Drivers tend not to get carsick as they are focusing on the road that is still so brain not getting as much conflicting information. Acupressure has proven to work in helping prevent motion sickness. That is what the band that you referred to does. edited by starsouthern on 18/05/2012

Springs 3 and 10 don't have pools although you can use any of the pools in any of the springs and meadows. springs 2 is one of the most popular becasue of its location. Personally I prefer 11, 15, 12 etc as they are off the main highway. We are in 11 and its got two pools. All houses vary so best to go out and look Springs, 6, 4 and 9 also don't have a pool. We lived in Springs 15 and it was lovely, easy to get to all Springs exits and it has two pools and parks. Springs 11 I think also has two pools+parks and it's lovely and green. You can cut through the lake to Springs 14 and walk to Spinneys. Bit of a trek in summer however but very doable in the winter.

[i'>[i'>but when you get to the fine print in their MOU watch out, they charge an extra 2500AED (from memory) to seller and buyer for conveyance (basically for doing the paperwork at the Land Department etc) and they have a clause that if you pull out of the deal (say you are using finance and the property comes back 50k less than the loan amount you can get) they keep the deposit and get 40% for themselves and 60% to the owner (something along those lines, but it worked out more than the 2% agency fee). [/i'>[/i'> This isn't true, yes they charge a conveyance fee which they have a specialized team which handle the after sales for you. Also the clause in the MOU states that if the valuation from the bank comes back 100k under value, then the buyer gets a full refund of the deposit as it is neither the sellers or the buyers fault. There is a clause in the MOU which states that if the buyer pulls (for any reason other than bank valuation) out once the MOU is signed and deposit paid then yes the deposit is forfeited 60% to seller as compensation for taking the property off of the market and 40% to the agency as they have successfully negotiated the deal for you. In my experience everything is up for negotiation when it comes to a property sale. I'm not sure what part of what Sizzles is saying is untrue as you have confirmed all points are true. Anyway... I had the same experience with S&K as Sizzles and opted not to buy a property through them. The MOU I was given didn't have the 100k clause in it. When I asked to negotiate the MOU they flat out refused, when I then said I don't want to continue they came back and said well as a favor to you we'll put a 100k clause in. Anyway wished we had bought now and we wouldn't be having landlord problems! edited by starsouthern on 16/05/2012

If you gave permission to this company to Sublease your property or to accept cheques on your behalf then unfortunately you can not evict your tenants. You have to go through the RERA to make any changes to their current contract. I'm a tenant going through the same thing but with a different company.

HI starsouthern , sorry I dont do OT,, I work with a great girl from SA that is an OT so will ask her for you,, I just do behaviour and ABA.. there are lots of exercises you can do with your son though, does the school not recommed an OT?? Thanks RR would really appreciate that as most centers I've contacted are not interested as it's not enough work. His teacher was concerned as he was taking too long to write, she did suggest we get him evaluated as she thought it might be a learning problem. So had him tested and he tested at above average-superior in most things apart from his visual processing, which was average. So we are going to a behavioral omphamologist for that in June but the therapist did recommend one or two sessions of OT as she said he hasn't been taught to form letters correctly, holds the pensil too tight and uses too much of his arm to write. She gave us a few things to do at home which help but she said as she's not an OT so she can't help with the muscle use. The centers I've contacted want him to come in for 8hrs a week minimum for 10 weeks at dhs 450 an hr. 1 we don't have 8 hrs a week to spare between school, sports and 2 we don't have that kind of money. The initial therapist said she thought he'd only need two or three hrs max. edited by starsouthern on 12/05/2012

That stinks! :( It did make me think though. Question....Does the text parking get deducted from your Salik or your phone credit? We got our phone bill this month and noticed I got charged 2dh as the cost of a "premium text" to pay the darn parking using my phone! Now I am wondering..was I paying double this way? If I am paying double for this "convenience" I am not happy. It takes me 5 minutes to figure the darn thing out myself in the heat and I also wondered if I would get a fine while I am off at the meter sorting this out. Parking for 1hr is 2 dhs, 2hrs is 5dhs etc, so when you pay by text you are charged 2 dhs for 1 hr and 30fils for the text msg. It is deducted from your phone credit not Salik. You are paying 30 fils each time for the convenience. Petrol stations sell parking cards that you can keep in your car or wallet and use on the machines.

Try Universal American School. Its an IB curriculum school (theres only 2 fully accredited IB schools in Dubai). They have school busses for transport too if you dont want to do the drive. They have fulltime counsellors and Learning support teachers. http://www.uasdubai.ae/page.cfm?p=1 Here is a lists of IB schools in the UAE I think you may find more than two in Dubai [url=http://www.ibo.org/school/search/index.cfm?programmes=&country=AE&region=&find_schools=Find'>link[/url'>

Not quite as old as you, I have been on here since September 2005, although I did have a name change back in 2007! Eek! We actually met when you were still under your previous name! (we met at a previous poster's house to talk about the sell off of The Lakes. Another poster (ex poster?) who does a lot for animals was also there). Five years ago *gulp* We did! We only just moved out of our villa in the Lakes so our fight was worth it! Good news :) . We left ours in 2009, but with a profitable "reason" to go ;) ETA I've lost touch several months ago with the lady who hosted the evening though. :( edited by Sanddy_Dogg on 09/05/2012 Zulal 3 was a great street ? If you've done your bloods for your new visa then your old one should already be cancelled so your DH can cancel his. DH doesn't need to be here for you to get your new visa since it's with your company. Hi there, thanks for your feedback but how do you know for sure that my old visa will now be cancelled because I've had my blood test this morning? Is there anyway that Tecom (mine) can speak to DAFZA (DHs)? You can't process a new visa without the old one being cancelled or transfered, because you have done the medical it means that the transfer process has been done.

We live in AR. My 3.5yr old DD is doing the Active Sports Beginners at DESS they're very good with the little ones. The head coach there recommended the Polo Club lessons on a Monday and Wed afternoon at 3pm as she's too advanced for the morning ones. DESS is more convinient for me as it's where my son goes to school and her lesson is straight after my son's.

Mine working Um Ramool (near airport). Kids going into year 4 and year 7. One been accepted at DESS, one at DESC. Both been accepted at DBS. (once both are at secondary then DBS will save us over 24k a year) At minute there ain't much in it between both schools re price.Hubby getting just over 30k a month but we have to pay everything inc housing, schooling, flights, pension etc.Schooling gonnae be 8k a month and I reckon we can't afford more than 8k a month on housing. From what is left we need to pay cars, food, utilities, flights etc. He reckons I'm being very negative and we'll manage easily. I don't think so . edited by Feefmick on 07/05/2012 Check if DBS are putting their fees up, also as they are a profit school you can't guarantee that it will be 24k cheaper when both are in HS.

I notice another query re Springs 3 where someone is asking if it has a pool. I thought each area in Springs had a pool or is this not the case?Is this something else I need to watch out for? Springs 1,2,5,8,11,12,14, and 15 have pools which are quite small. The rest don't. The 2 bed in Springs living area is very small also the kitchen only has one counter top space for preparation. We found it too small and our 2 were 2 and 7 at the time. I did look at 2 beds in AR the ones I saw were much better laid out so seemed bigger and the second bedroom had a full sized bath not a shub like in the springs. We did fit a king sized bed into the master and a super king would also fit if you have your feet facing the wardrobe.

They closed down two years ago. Thought so, they go through phases of opening for a couple of years and then closing again. Shame really as a lot of teenagers could do with the option.
