I didn't stop driving with my 3 either but I was told that there is a law here that you shouldn't drive after 7 months. It was CID at work that told me but I haven't been able to find the law.

Is this a dubai disease from living in an airconditioned environment or would it be something else? He has no other symptoms. Just clear fluid dripping from the nose and wet phlegm. Been going on for almost 4 weeks since we started using airconditioning again because of he increased heat and humidity. My best friends toddler had this and turned out that he was allergic to cows milk, however yoghurt and cheese were fine.

My third baby was 42+5 before I was induced as he was huge! But with all my three bubbas my stomach didn't drop till I went into labour but they were in the correct position from 34 weeks. I wouldn't worry, but please speak to your doctor or midwife to make sure that everything is ok. Good luck to you!

Another vote for the city select baby jogger. It is easy to manoeuvre and the huge basket underneath allows for all the stuff needed for a new born and a toddler Love, love, love my city select! It's the best thing I ever bought for any of my children, wished I had it when my first was born 8 years ago!

I had HD Browz done in the UK, it cost 40 pounds and to be honest I didn't think it was worth it at all. My 35 Dhs threading here was much better. However 2 of my colleagues went to Michelle and their eyebrows look amazing! She is known as the eyebrow queen.

We moved from GWPS not because we had problems with the school but because we had to. I was really worried about going from a class of 16 to 24 but have to say that it hasn't been a problem at all, in fact I would say it's been better. My son is thriving at his new school and his teacher seems to know his learning needs much better.

thanks and appreciated.. ! so may be it was an exception that they have 16 kids per class in Wellington primary school compared to other schools... . Yes this is an exception and this was why fees were higher than other schools but I guess now that's not the case.

Most nurseries will take babies from 6 weeks on. Most of them open after 7 am and a lot of them are open until early evening but as another poster said, that can get very expensive. Then, as SS said, if your child is sick, you cannnot send him/her and they also close for all holidays and have vacation weeks. I'd still go with the nursery option, though, if I were you. You may need to decide if it is feasible to go back to work so soon after having twins. I couldn't find a good nursery that took babies under 6 months old when I was looking.

I would say the opposite, a small baby needs 1 on 1 with a consistent caregiver who they can form an attachment to. They also don't really have the immune system to be put into the nursery environment so young. Sponsoring might be a hassle but with an agency you might not get the same person all the time and you could have issues of reliability. I'm assuming you plan to stay back at work over the next few years so this person will effectively have a major role in raising your kids long term, sponsoring is the logical step and frankly if it was me I'd be looking at starting the process now so that you have time to find the right person. It has been proven, that one on one either with a care giver or family member is better for children. I would hire someone full time if I was in the same situation.

Most nurseries if they take babies take them from 4months and up. It's very hard to find a nursery that is open before 730am. Most nurseries close at two. There are some that stay open til 5/6pm but very expensive. Nurseries close for school holidays or you pay extra for camps if they are open. They also close sometimes during the term for staff training or cleaning. If your baby is sick you can't send them in. A maid/nanny has to be on your visa to be legal. Personally I don't think it's worth the risk of leaving your child with someone who is illegal. There are companies that you can hire, they charge 35-45 dhs per hour.

Hi Frazzled, does your son read to you every day? My son last year although a good reader didn't enjoy silent reading or reading on his own but now can't get him to put a book down. I would get him to read something every day for 10mins, some times it was a story for his younger sister. I didn't make him finish the book just kept it to 10mins. It then became a habit and grew his confidence. Now he'll happily sit somewhere reading a book.

When I had my baby it was in a Government Hospital and they didn't care about dates of marriage it was when we went to register the birth that we had problems. We needed to go to court with 2 Muslim witnesses to say that they had witnessed us get married even though we had an attested marriage cert and were married here. They also had to testify that DH was the father of the baby. If we had married after the 5 month 29 day cut off point we would've had to do DNA testing and more court appearances.

I get married in Dubai when I was 7 months and a half pregnant and had no isues at all when I gave birth . I really do think it depends on who gets the paper work when you register the birth. I had a problem, and so did a poster below. My friend got married 3 weeks before having her baby and she also had no problems.

Have you thought about Mirdiff? There are quite a few 3 bed villas for 80-90k it's near your hubby's work and not too far from DESS and DESC. The school bus for DESS services Mirdiff for when you do start working. From experience a two bed in the Springs for a family of 4 is really small. We lived in one for two years and my kids are younger and it was hard.

As long as you were married befor being 5 months and 29 days pregnant it doesn't matter even with a government hospital. All the hospital needs is the paperwork to show you are married dates don't matter. How come 5 months and 29 days? Haven't heard that before.. No idea why it's 5 months and 29 days but that's what I was told at the Sharia court in Abu Dhabi when I had my son 8 years ago and had to petition to register his birth as I was pregnant before getting married. They told me because I was within this time limit it was ok and signed off on the registration. The hospital didn't care about the dates it was at birth registration that they counted the days and said I had to go to the Sharia court to get permission to register.

Ok so that's to remove it totally, but can you put regular polish over the top, then take it off without removing the rest? I know it would probably ruin the 'shine' of the original colour but am guessing a top coat could fix that. Just trying to figure out if I can ever get 'fun' gelish or if I have to stick with natural ones as we can't have anything coloured at work (french/beige/pink/red only) No you can't as it's not like nail extensions it is just like a nail polish.

Ok I have a question is bio sculpture the same idea as gelish and shellac? Do it just peel/soak off? What is the colour range like? Yes, have explained how to remove it below. Colour range depends on what salons have purchased. Same as Gellish and the rest. Difference between Gellish and bio sculpture is that gellish has a brush in the bottle like a polish where as bio sculpture comes in little tubs without a brush. edited by starsouthern on 17/04/2012

silly question, but can you put another colour over the top of gelish if you want a change, and would it damage the nails to try take the colour off again? My friend got them and I'm thinking about it for work, as I heard they last a long time, but I'd want to put on a colour for 'fun' on my days off, but would need to go back to natural for work. Or would I have to remove the gelish at the same time as removing the 'fun' colour? Never had it before so no idea how it works... Gellish, Shellac, Biosculpture and Geleration are all gel based nail polishes that are cured under a LED or UV lamp. They last longer and are harder. To remove the polish you need cotton wool or gauze soaked in nail polish remover with acetone then wrap with tin foil, leave for 5 mins and then peel/scrape off orange/wood pedicure stick. If you peel off before soaking you will damage your nails. I personally prefer the Jessica Geleration to Gellish but have never had Shellac.

It takes 20 mins to DESC, to do both drop offs comfortably keeping traffic and parking in mind you would have to leave the house no later than ten to seven. Exit 44 on Emirates Rd gets sticky when you leave AR at 7. Then from DESC to DESS 20 mins if traffic ok. AR to DESS straight is 25-30mins.

Hi, sorry just logged back on. Dibdab, re: rush hour traffic - depends where you are coming from, my hubby used the 611 Bypass road its always relatively quiet. Still adviceseeker, yes you are right, they are 2 bedroom "upstairs" and "downstairs" villas, a block of 4. however, there are 1-2-3 bedroom apartments. i think the 2 bedroom "villa" comes with a gerden and thats the difference edited by notheragain on 14/04/2012 We went to look at the 2 bed villa's, they didn't have gardens and the one on top doesn't have a balcony. They were much smaller than springs 2 bed as there is no study. I wouldn't call them villas really. The three bed apartments were lovely though as the buildings are low rise and if you get one on the ground floor it feels like a villa. They were decent sized too.

Mercedes will need experience too, no? I would suggest he go to the dealers he wants to work for with his cv and talk to the floor manager they'll be able to guide him. That's how a colleagues son got an internship with GM here in Dubai.

Yes it's still valid. My office hired a driver who's visa was cancelled and sent home, before hiring him we checked with the RTA if his drivers lisence was still valid before spending the money to bring him out here and the RTA said yes it is the drivers lisence is not linked to the visa even though you need a visa to get it.

Is the sewage plant in Arabian Ranches ever a problem in any of the communities located close to it - ie. bad smells? I may have found a villa we like, but it's kind of close to the sewage plant and not sure if that is something we should take into consideration or not... I didn't even know there was a sewage plant in AR! Haven't smelt it either lived here a year :)

Thanks fairycakeyumm, we first tried rocking him back to sleep, didn't work. We then tried water but he screamed as if we were trying to kill him! If I feed him a bottle he usually goes straight back to sleep if I don't he'll scream for hours and then wakes up my other two! He woke up last night at 11.30 then 3.30 night before it was 1.30 and 4.30. It's the 3/430 wake up that's killing me as we have to be up at 530 to get everyone ready for school and work.

[ Any one of us could find ourselves in a similar situation. Only if we made an unwise decision ie to be here with no medical care. But many insurance companies would have a ceiling anyway, so once you've reached the ceiling, you're on your own. Exactly, that was my point I have fantastic insurance with all the trimmings dental USA cover and they will only cover up to AED 250k. So even if they did have insurance they would still owe 750k. Life isn't black and white, I feel for this poor couple the stress and heartache they must be growing through. People commit suicide from the stress of being not even nearly that much in dept.
