Because they are charging way too much for the service anyway. I have excellent health insurance with dental and everything but there is no way that dhs1m is covered by them. The parents could never have guessed that their babies were going to come at 25 weeks. My neighbor had her twins on her due date naturally without an eventful pregnancy, my friend had to have her single baby at 26 weeks by cs because of unforeseen complications in an otherwise completely healthy person. You can't predict what will happen.

Hi Amy I had my third last July, we moved house twice at the same time! Kept the other two with us but gave them the option to stay at my mums once or twice a week for a break. It worked well for us.

Royal Brunei- was a suggestion from the ladies below :) You have to book cheap RB flights through an agent or cheap ticket site as directly through their website it's really expensive.

Starsouthern- Do you have children at the certain non profit school ? Interesting comments- are they hearsay or from your experience.? Thanks From experience, not hearsay. Only time will tell though if the right changes can be made, we're hanging in there for a little bit longer. Have to say though have been lucky that 2 teachers which we have had issues with are the only ones leaving so haven't been disturbed too much.

Management problem- YES there is! A new head appointment this year is proving to be a disaster, very different to the former head. If your talking about a certain non profit high school, you'll find that it's the legacy of the old head that is causing problems now. The new head is tasked with improving the education level within the school and is being met with resistance from old staff brought in by old head, it is the old staff leaving who were used to not making much of an effort.

Jumeirah Beach Center has a shop with a lot of costumes They are in the shop for teachers' stuff Also I think Jumeirah Town Center has a "Party shop". I would wait for an other post to confirm it. I've heard there was a great custome shop near Satwa round about (as far as I can remember). Perhaps someone can confirm that one too. Yes to both the Satwa one is in Al Gazelle Mall and it's called Mr Ben's. However all these shops are extremely expensive (220dhs-480dhs) and don't have much variety. I was in Stiches on Beach Rd the other day and they said if you bring in a picture they can make a costume I didn't check the prices though and didn't ask how long they take as I wasn't needing anything then. I usually buy costumes online and shop n ship them as it works out much cheaper, some sites will deliver here too but I have no idea how long that takes.

AR hands down too we've lived in both, the community areas and pool in AR Al Reem are much nicer than Springs, traffic is easy. The layout of the house in AR are better, our 3m is much bigger than our friends 3m in Springs even though square footage is the same. The layout just makes areas more usable. The build quality in AR we found is better than the Springs.

Repton have insisted on all 3 terms of post dated cheques for next academic year in order to secure the place, plus 10,000 AED advance of school fees. If you do not supply by April22nd your place is offered to another child. The cheques are post dated, cannot be cashed until the date on them, start of term 1, but I did point out t the school that cheques can be cancelled so why the need for all this cheque writing.. You need police clearance here to cancel a cheque you have issued, you can't just go to the bank and cancel it. If they try to cash it and it bounces then they can put a police case against you. That's why they want them.

The one and only royal mirrage hotel, they do an amazing hammam for 395 or 695 for hammam and massage or facial, you can also use the spa facilities. It's truly an amazing experience. I think they do specials if you book before a certain time on a Monday too.

Being in the 5th percentile only means that 95% of children her age are bigger than her. If her height and weight are going up steadily even though only on the 5th percentile it doesn't matter if she's small. I would be worried if she starts dropping weight or if she isnt gaining anything at all. What does your Dr say?

@Beebers: In the Netherlands we consider it bad luck. Don't know why, just do. We always give the table cloth sets that are embroided with gold or silver. They are lovely to look at, seem very expensive, and they won't be getting more than one set.

No customer service here because most places are owned by the same company so they don't care if you stop going to one as they'll still get your money in one of their other establishments.

I used one of the firms in JLT for a BB repair and felt the same way about giving my phone away. They repaired it same day and rang and gave a quote for the repair. Sorry I cant for the life of me remember their name, but the were extremely professional and were referred by the EW ladies. Maybe do a search for phone repairs. CellMetro is in JLT, used them to fix iPod touch screen, bb and a Nokia every time they came back like new. Am going to use them to fix my iPad2 screen too. They guarantee the screen, and have checked in uk, oz and USA and in all three countries they now sell original parts.

You can contact your insurance company to find out what they need to cover baby, each company has different procedures and policies. Contact baby steps they'll sort out all the birth Certs. Health card you can register at Al Bada clinic behind Shangri La hotel on SZRd once you have birth cert. You can also see a private pediatrician of your choosing for vaccines however very expensive. The hospital will give you a vaccination schedule when they discharge you and baby to follow.

Mine are 8, 3 and 8months! To be honest a bigger age gap between # 2 and 3 would've been better as I don't have a maid so would've worked well if both the older 2 were in school full time. My 2nd is at home and doesn't nap any more so I still have entertain and look after her when baby is asleep so no naps for me during the day.

if you break a contract as a teacher, you will be banned for 6 months for work. However the new school can pay the dirhams to have the ban lifted,. If a school wants you, they will either pay the banned fees or you will work on a visit visa for 6 months. HTH edited by winterice on 15/03/2012 This is incorrect info. Teachers also have a notice period that they are required to give. http://www.iicuae.com/externals/altamimi/Labour%20Law.pdf page 20 has a list of all occupations that are exempt from the ban. If you give required notice in writing you can break a contract without being banned at any time as a teacher whether tertiary or k-12. Employers do threaten a ban because they are aware that employees do not know the law completely. Where your friend may have an issue is if in her contract there is a stipulated fine that she'll have to pay if she breaks her contract half way through the year. She would have to pay this aswell as give her notice period.

Hi there we are in AR and my son is currently in Y3 at DESS, only options if you don't want to use the DESC bus would be to either leave the house at 645am drop off older one and then take younger one to DESS or do a car share for one of them. Apparently there are a few people who share for AR to DESS but I haven't found them yet. More than welcome to get in touch star dot southern at y mail dot com

Hi Sizzles I would want to help too. I understand that by writing your name he was doing something wrong, but I can't help but feel that in this country if you don't have a job and visa you can't stay here. Also by refusing to sign you don't know what threats or penalties this company would place on this young man. Yes we do make mistakes when we are young but prison and deportation are too big a price to pay. By being deported it takes away any chance for him to get another job and be with his family. And the issue of the company, if they are still trading while their license has been revoked there is nothing stopping them from hiring another person and exploiting them. edited by starsouthern on 08/03/2012 So what you are saying is that its OK for someone poor to break the law? really?? oh, it's not just breaking the law, its fraud!! edited by angelinaballerina on 08/03/2012 No I'm not saying that because he's poor it's ok to break the law, the company may have told him that they had permission from the OP to sign the form. I'm saying that him being punished for something that wasn't only his doing. However someone who is poor can't pay for legal representation and lawyers assigned by courts don't care. If he had money then the company would be held responsible and he would get a fine, because he's poor he'll get the book thrown at him and be made an example of. At the end of the day by this man going down justice isn't being served. Of course it is - he broke the law...... or are you saying that he is mentally incapable of knowing right from wrong? Sorry, he is responsible for his actions. Unfortunately life here is not so black and white, who's to say he wasn't forced to confess by his company. I can understand where the OP is coming from that's all I'm saying and I understand what your saying too. Maybe that's why the OP is in a dilemma.

No they don't and you have 30 days to register the birth and only one of you needs to have a valid residency visa for the registration. You then have 120 days to get baby's visa sorted. edited by starsouthern on 04/03/2012
