please enlighten me, i just don't get it? Twitter that is? Jwal, I understand what you mean by the Twitter thing. Like I don't have friends or family on Twitter... but I use it as a microblogging tool and find it very informative.

I blog about food, design and decor and follow blogs in the same league. I love following food and decor blogs because there's so much new out there to see and drool at! I blog about interesting pieces or recipes in the spirit of sharing. Yeah, but I don't really get the opinion blogs so much... unless they are hysterical and make for a fun read :)

Hi Forever21, I don't know if you are looking for any closure/support or asking things like why this has hapenned to you. But just wanted you to know there is a mum with a similar story, and has written a beautiful letter to her daughter. I will share it with you only if you think it'll help you find some answers. Let me know. *Hugs

Oh, damn :( Anyway toanswer your question, even though I didn't have to undergo fertility treatments ... I can tell you what made my sis in law do it. They had been trying for about 3 years and the docs confirmed that both she and her husband had issues...so natural conception would be impossible without a miracle. They finally tried everything, the last attempt being IVF but it still hasn't happenned for them. They have just applied for adoption. My own sister also did IUI but it didn't work for a while. Mainly because the doctors couldn't identify a specific problem with her, which in some cases is worse. But one of her students' moms came to her one day and totally brainwashed and convinced her to visit this guy in the outskirts o the town they live in. My brother in law agreed to take her there after much convincing and many tears because he thinks they are quacks. The first time, this guy pressed a bone at the back of her back... just where the spine begins and told her what he though was the problem. Gave her a massage and asked her to be back after a certain number of days of her menses cycle. The next time she went, he did a massage again and told her she probably wouldn't need to come back. Sure enough, she was pregnant in the next cycle. While she was continuing with some kind of medical fertility treatment also at the time this happenned, so it could be that that finally worked...but in my sister's head, she still believes its because of the 'quack'. :) I think at the end, just go with your heart. I'm sure it'll tell you what to do. :) <em>edited by stovetop on 23/01/2011</em>

I think one of the key things to getting profiteroles right is using a baking stone. But that's just my opinion. :)

Hi Dikane, just a suggestion for you since you don't seem to want to start any treatment soon. There was a thread earlier on here where a lady spoke very highly about a self fertility massage that apparently worked for her and a few others she had recommended it to. Maybe you wanna do a search and take a look at it?

...dont even get me started on the weak bladder and sneazing issue! ... Don't mean to sound unsympathetic, but I'm so glad someone else has this too!!! :) When I was dying with the viral 2 weeks back, one night I threw up my dinner and realised that while doing so, I'd made a small puddle in the loo. Like TOTAL loss of bladder control... so much for Kegels :o

For Millionaire's SB, I use melted dark chocolate with a teaspoon of vegetable oil. The tiny amount of vegetable oil keeps the chocolate a bit softer and easier to cut into neat bars without cracking, and also adds a bit of shine.

To be honest, I can see why airlines reserve that right. I met a lady who was flying to the US to give birth to her DS at 36 weeks...but she got a fake certificate from her doc saying she was only 32 weeks...all this just so that her baby has an American passport. She left her 3 year old DD with her folks in Lebanon, because she'd done the same with DD and was scared that the authorities might know her intentions. The fact that people are going to great lengths for their kids to get the citizenship of another country is a debate in itself. But I just think that sometimes people don't understand how dangerous it can be should they go into labour in flight. Also,on a different note, a friend was filling out her Greencard form and in the nationality section, she noticed "In Flight" between Iceland and India in the dropdown as an option...lol!

I know that the Bharat Thakur yoga guys will organise a class at your home. If you have a couple of friends to join in, then it's worth the price since they charge per class (not per person) and it gets divided. i love his Artistic yoga classes. how much per class, if you don't mind? I have no idea, but know someone who works there so can find out. Also, I think you can call n ask.

On a different note about a similar subject, did anyone read the story about the Ajman teen who had his hand chopped off? http://gulfnews.com/news/gulf/uae/crime/ajman-teenager-s-hand-chopped-off-in-fight-1.749203 I don't really understand how kids have access to SWORDS? I mean...just sounds so prehistoric.

I've been to Dr Yamini twice or thrice, once being when I couldn't feel any movements and the other time when My SPD pain just shot up and started hurting like the devil. She was kind and gentle. Unfortunately, I cannot say much but found this thread of someone who delivered with her. http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=94702 While some people have had great experiences with Dr Luthra, one of my colleagues went through **** with her. And besides, she is very cold. But I'd still advice you to see a couple of docs and choose the one you're most comfy with. It's important to be able to trust your Dr completely. And you still have enough time anyway. :) Hope that helps.

Welcare is great. I see Dr Janaki there, but on different occasions have also seen Dr Ulrich and Dr Susheela. There's another doctor called Dr Santi Medhi who's really sweet. If you like, you can consider Dr Yamini at WAC (Welcare Ambulatory Centre) at Knowledge Village since it's super close. She is quite nice too. You will have all your appointments there and then she will deliver at the Garhoud main branch.

Thanks ladies...need these urgently ... can't make the trip to Ikea or MCC unfortunately... just need a few to pack some bath salts and truffles in (separately, of course :)) for a friends giveaways. Think I'll go with the ones in the supermarkets like these (http://stovetopdancing.blogspot.com/2010/12/superduperloaded-chocolate-chip-cookies.html or http://stovetopdancing.blogspot.com/2010/09/kitchen-basics-tomato-basil-sauce.html ) and then get some fancy ribbons and stuff to spike them up. Would have really liked mason jars with screw on lids instead of jam jars with the flip lids...but I guess there's no time to go hunting for all that now. Thanks ladies!

Thanks Mulberry. getting husband to treat me for my birthday:) he doesn't know yet :0:0 Want to go march 28th DXB/DXB 12 nights stopping off in Mumbai, Cochin, Goa and Oman. Is there any good points to splashing out on a suite? or anyway of getting an upgrade. My husband is 65 and I'm a little younger but never ever done a cruise so I thought this was a good taster. I like good things but do not want to waste money unnessesarily on a suite if the outside cabins with balcony are just as good. Also in India what would you recommend seeing? Thank you; getting excited now!!!! Oh GOAAAAAAA!!! Take me along, I'm only 8.5 months preggers :D

I have been so sick for the past few days. been down with a bad cold, awful sore throat, when I cough I feel like my throat is on fire, now I have a runny and stuffy nose. Have not been able to sleep for the past few nights, it's been awful. I just hope I can get all better before the LO decides to come. it sucks being sick and not able to take anything for it. Hope everyone is healthy! Ugh, that was me a week back. I know exactly how you feel... hope you start feeling better soon! Tx, did you take anything for your cold? Or did it just go away on it's own? I was ultimately put on antibiotics because the fever kept coming back and the doc said that's what she was worried about since it indicated pneumonia. If it's just a cough, stick to home remedies... unless of course it gets really uncomfy and u can probably mention it to your nurse? I called my nurse before the onset of the fever and she asked to take this cough syrup called Sinecod.

I would recommend Dr Janaki at Welcare if your insurance covers it.She won't smother you with love and affection, but she explains everything very clearly and has answers to all your questions. One of the main reasons I like her is because she is very practical, and clearly very skilled. I have a new line for her, "stay as long as you need, but dont overstay your visit" :) Its getting uncomfortable! And yet, 7 weeks to go. And you? How are the glucose levels? Ditto. Grow like real fast and come out when you feel full term at 36 or whatever weeks :D :D :D (Feel like such a bad mum sometimes :( but it is getting uncomfortable) Glucose levels are quite ok now. Are any of you already done with the showers etc? How'd it go?

In a little bit of butter/olive oil, press some garlic and then saute some onion and spinach. Pour some skimmed milk, let it simmer and then puree it. Once pureed, put it back on the stove and add more milk... as thin or thick as u want. Season with salt, pepper and any other herb seasoning u like.

Hey... D date is looking far far away...lol. March 10th. Have managed to catch a viral in the meantime... thankfully the fever's gone now and am stuck with only the dreadful cough. And two of my sugar readings were high in the Glucose test... though its not diagnosed as GD, i've been asked to monitor my sugar thrice everyday and all that....arghhhhhh...so sick of being sick!! How is your LO doing? Must be all rosy cheeked now :)

I know they ask for proof, but am not so sure if its just the passport that has your spouse's name printed on it or a marriage certificate that is attested by UAE authorities. It would be best to ask your practitioner on your next visit.

I bought mine from the education nurse itself because hospitals generally get good offers from these companies. We paid 255 for 2 boxes of test strips with 50 in each, and one box of 50 lancets and therefore got the meter free.

So an eventful week for me. Did my glucose tolerance test and 2 of the readings were marginally high... so i met the diabetes education nurse and she explained in GREAT detail about how it happens... the insulin, the carbs and all that lovely stuff. Anyway, we bough a glucometer and am pricking myself to death to test my sugar levels 4 times a day. Also, caught a viral and had fever for a couple of days. Thankfully the fever hasnt come back today but the throat pain and dry cough persists. So sick of being sick :( The doc said that baby's well protected... but am still scared. Hope she isn't affected is any way :(
