its a long walk from the plane to passport control then baggage. Marhaba will arrange for a trolly to take your parents and brother to passport control and they wil go much quicker..then will take them to baggage and make sure their luggage is organized and they will then take your family to meet you. It is worth the money as you should not rely on someone helping. Now, you can ask emirates for wheel chairs or they do have the trolley service they can wait for on their own. Personally, I would get Marhaba, and have them meet your family .....:)

you do not have to push a cart or stroller..surely things have not gone back 50 years lol.....snugglies and their more modern carriers are wonderful, yet, I rarely see anyone using them here. In north america they are very popular..we do housework with our babies on our fronts, dads carry them, front and back,,, just like a papoose lol..I didnt use a carriage other than going for a long walk but around the house, baby was attached and we were both hands free lol...

snuggly, do they not have those here? better than a sling as they stay strapped to your body and when you bend they stay put...great for shopping until about 2 or 3 months then they go on the back ;)...Slings are great if you have a hand to hold them from swinging when shopping...or....share with a friend. she watches your baby for 2 hours so you can do your shop and get home, put it away, or at least get it home..then you do the same for her :)

geez ladies. dont discount the Maritimes!!! lol..... Vancouver is lovely but so are the Maritimes.....I personally would pick Halifax and see Cape Breton, PEI, nfld New Bruswick......you will not find more down to earth people. Yes, B.C. has Mountains but...Nova Scotia has everything else lol... Having been to all Provinces in Canada extensively....i would still go for the Maritimes. (btw) I am from Ontario so not from either place lol..

On the point of Fostering to adopt...a bit appalled at that one :( Sadly, if I want to go ahead with adoption I may have to do it alone. But that's only if Dh doesnt come round to the idea, or perhaps if I let go of it. I am definitely feeling strongly about it because of the timing Im sure. Just to clarify about the foster-to-adopt; until now if foster parents wanted to adopt one of the children in their care, they were prohibited from doing so and the child had to go to a new family. There are a number of heart-wrenching stories of long term foster children being removed from fosterers who were willing to adopt them. The new legislation will be less disruptive to the children. Oh i see. I had visions of people taking a foster child for awhile with an eye to adopt, decide not wanting them, returning them fr another model :(....I do wonder how they would regulate that though so that scenario does not happen?

monesperance1, your kitty already has a sweater :)...a nice double layer one, unless he is a persian and has been shaved. He will most likely not like his sweater no matter how much love you put into it. You would be better with making hot water bottle covers for him to snuggle into and lovely fuzzy kitty blankets :)...but a sweater, not unless the poor kitty is a hairless one :)

I am sorry Hills that you are going through this. You know that in order to have a chance at a successful adoption and continuing successful marriage, both partners must be on board for the adoption. One cannot have a guilt adoption so the other can be a parent, that will not work in the end. I wonder if couples therapy would help or have you gone down that road? Awful to miscarry and feel he has just got over it :( I doubt he has as men process much differently than we do. Wait, continue to build your marriage, go to councelling. It as not been that long, not long enough to grieve I think :) On the point of Fostering to adopt...a bit appalled at that one :(

you have to be more inventive to have a cat in a small space. you have a whole other room in your apt. Look up. You can go vertical..wide plank on the perimeter of the room, climbing poles in the corner, hammocks in the corner up high... lots of idea if you think vertical :0.... Cat boxes. think outside the litter box so to speak :) http://www.amazon.com/Pet-Studio-Litter-Cabinet-Mahogany/dp/B005N0M5YG, just one idea. If you keep it clean and use good litter you can contain the smell for sure. leave a vent on in the apt and make sure the air moves. I keep the vent in the bathroom on all the time and no smell. if you have a cupboard under the sink, put the box there, cut a hole out for entrance...make sure there are vents in the furniture. So, being a cat person, yes you can have a cat. Yes an older cat who is used to laying around. Yes go vertical and perches at widows so he/she can see out. so, other ideas. If you are going to foster get some things n place, like a bed for the cat, decide what the litter box will be. Do not buy cheap litter nor the crystals..they stink when peed on, I find. Arm and hammer is also good. good clumping litter. Yes you can have a cat but a special one who just lays around. You will one day move I am sure lol....just remember, go up!!!! for anyone who is thinking of getting a cat in a small space, here are some really great ideas :) http://www.theverticalcat.com/CATify-Your-Home_ep_48.html <em>edited by SueB on 26/12/2012</em>

The girls are haveing a grand time being kittens. Loving bags and being slid around on a blanket on the floor. They have a temporary roommate who is very young but holding her own..she goes to her new home on December 24th. Unfortunately, Jemma and Bunny will still be here, without their own home to go to :(. They are lovely kittens, busy and full of life as kittens are but they do grow into stately cats eventually and the kitten stage does not last all that long :) It would be lovely to see them settled with a loving and caring family who truly would like to have them in their life .......you can come to see them without making a committment :)....I am sure you will fall in love but, maybe not, you will never know until you have a cuddle :)

If the gentle afraid of him when he is inside the house? You could try this, it seems to help. put the two of them in a room together where the gentle one cannot hide. Get the toy da bird most vets have it if you dont already. Have them play together. If you do this often through the day where she and he might start to bond while realizing it is ok then you could take this into the rest of the house. Once that works, take it outside so they all can play together. I find the toy da bird seems to be a great equalizer because most cats just love it :)...anyway, I think you must have them bond indoors first and play time is a good start so they equate each other with fun. Just a thought.

i was too scared to ask about Johnny in case it ws only me who hadn't heard, ha. Now you need to tell us!! :-P ok kiddies, now make a circle and I will tell you allllll about Johnny and his gas tank. One Day, not so long ago, in the last century I believe lived a man named Johnny. One day Johnny had to go from his house to another town, far away. It was very dark. He did not meet another car on the road. Then, the car stopped. Dead as a door nail.. kapootski....so, Johnny, being the resouceful man he was, took his gas can out of the car and started walking. It was very dark and he hoped he would find a house soon. Lo and behold, he saw a light waaaaaaay in the distance, like a becon, calling to him. He now had some hope he would not be walking all night as he was getting tired after the long drive. He soon realized that it was really quite late. So late in fact most people would be in bed. Still, he had to go on. He swung his gas can and the light did not seem to be getting any closer. He was growing frustrated. He was afraid it was getting so late no one would wake up to give him some gas. Oh dear..he would be waking up a whole house. Oh my. On he went and worried. He thought "what if the farmer told me to come back in the morning" what if he was mad at me and would not give me gas." oh my. Johnny started getting upset "why would I trudge all this way and the farmer would not give me gas" what would he do , he thought. My goodness he was tired and getting cross. The light was getting nearer to Johnny but he was getting crosser and crosser...."that farmer better give me gas or I will bang on his door all night"...then Johnny thought about the farmer maybe calling the police....now he was very cross. He finally got to the light and farmhouse and banged on the door very hard... an angry bang with his fists... The light came on and the window opened. The farmer leaned out the window and ask, "what is the matter? can I help""? "No you cannot you old man" Johnny yelled. "keep your stupid gas and go ahead, call the police, I don't care" I didnt trudge all this way to be refused gas!!!!!!! and Johnny turned around and stomped back to the car to wait for morning. That is the story of Johnny and the gas tank. Poor Johnny, had an empty gas tank and instead of waiting to see what the farmer said he started imagining the worst possible things. He did not get his gas but in the morning he felt pretty stupid. The moral? Don't jump to conclusions or don't worry about something that hasn't happened. Worry about if you can change it, then...change it :)

all of us are bystandards and looking at things just from what you have written Maroon5. Personally I see this is putting alot of stress on a new relationship. I see that the woman is not out of his life. I see that he is not willing to cut her off right now as he continues to have conversations with her. I see that he most likely gave her his new address and landline number :(. I see you not listening to your head which will make you walk away and close the door on a very potentially damaging relationship, to yourself. It is hard not to listen to your heart because it hurts :(....but sweetie, in the end, it will hurt alot more if he continues to shut you out and there is always 3 of you in the relationship. I would be concerned with the lies..that would be number 1 in my book...no honesty, no relationship. I am not even sure I would want to be with him after he finally let go of her. I feel you can do better and sound like a very nice person. Turn and leave, you are better than the way he is dealing with this.

Nomad is right on :)....to add. When I deal with ringworm and to be on the safe side. I head to the pharmacy to pick up paper hospital gowns, gloves and booties, and a bottle of bleach. If the ringworm is just a spot it can be treated with Lamisil cream and so can you :).I wear the hosptal stuff to wash the kittens/cats then wrap them in a warm towel, I put a heating pad in a cage and pop them in to stay warm until they dry off..do not use a hair dryer. I bath them every 3 or 4 days, completely clean their room with bleach then rinse and wipe dry. I only have washable toys in that room and dont forget the litter box. I know this might sound excessive but I have never had an outbreak to my other animals or myself and I have had some pretty bad ringworm kitties who all survived baths. There is medication they can have as well as the cream. Some vets say no bother to bath but I disagree..better safe than sorry. There are also different types of ringworm but that requires more testing than a black light. Anyway, you have probably gone to the vet by now and he/she has given you instructions. Wash all the bedding where he was and just watch the kids for any signs. Not every one picks it up :) You dont have to inform the school as you will not transmit it unless you have it and do alot of cuddling at school and they touch the spot so dont worry about it. It should be gone in 2-4 weeks, depends on how bad it is.

I don't think you should have to recommend anything to him. He is a grown boy, he should know how to block her email, block her on the phone, hang up if she calls etc. Sounds like he is still attached in some ways. Yes, his work contacts are very important, he can send them all a group txt to change his number as well as using email. Personally Maroon5. I would walk away for awhile until he sorts her out. It is a new relationship and most likely does not have roots , just little sprouts :0...so. he has lots of reasons why he is not doing more and he is still listening to her on the phone rather than hanging up...meeting her for a wine...not....step away before you get a broken heart and if he deals with it and you both are still interested, and....you know he is being honest with you, then try again. You need to know that you are more important that what is happening in his life right now :) btw...just reread your last line.. there were a few other things that he was not completely honest about, but I am hoping that it was because he wanted to gain the trust in me before he said things. if you decide to go the lending route, I would ask her some questions first. 1. Is the bill outstanding at the hospital, or, so you must pay the bill AT the hospital. In other words someone else has not paid the bill and she would be paying someone else back. 2. Produce the bill as Oopsidaisy suggests. If the bill cannot be produced ask her to call or write the hospital and have one sent to you or have a family member get a copy. Actually, the original would be the perfect one :) 3. Find someone to translate the bill to make sure it is for her father and is actually a hospital bill for 3,000. 4. If all this looks good then tell her that you (or your friend rather) will be more than happy to help her and to save time you will send the money immediately TO THE HOSPITAL so the fathers bill can be cleared. Now wait and see what happens. If she says great then good, pay the bill....if she hedges and says you must give her the money because someone else has paid the bill and you must pay her then.....I might not do this. just my thought.

They must stay together as Bunny joined Jemma and is stuck like glue to her now. Being very young when she was separated from her mother, she sees Jemma in that role I think..so, they are now best buds. Now don't lose hope Mrs B. I am positive she is nearby :).....and it's not your fault, you have given her a lovely home, it just might be she is keeping company with another family :).... Do posters and pass them to each house around your area. Cats do not travel far. Ask people to check their yards, bushes to see if she is there. Send a poster to all the vets, send an email. Here is a pretty good up to date list and you can also post her as lost here. http://www.expatechodubai.com/pets/veterinarian-clinics/#more-1948 contact www.felinefriendsdubai.com and post her in lost and found, also give them a ring to let them know your cat is missing. Also put posters on posts..they will be ripped down so keep putting them up...especially at child height so kids can see it also :).... Talk to the maids and gardeners in the area, give them a poster with pic..as them to pass the word. Contact Bin Kitty on Facebook and post her information and picture. Keep going out late at night and calling here. then stop and listen hard... I find going on the roof to call is great because you can hear really well at night up there and the sound travels so much better :)....I think anyway lol... So start with that :) I am sure she is close. Dont give up hope :) She will come wandering in as if nothing was wrong :) <em>edited by SueB on 21/11/2012</em>

sounds like the life of Riley at your house. I think I might move in lol.... from what you have said, I can think of 2 possible things....she would rather not have all the other cats around or the outside cats are trying to horn in on her territory and trying to get her out of the area. I might lean more toward the stray cats. There is also the possibility that someone is trying to adopt her, feeding her and letting her in their house :). Does she wear a collar with tags? if not, I would get her one so people know she is not homeless. Get a few collars with your info on it though as they tend to lose them on purpose I swear!!! You can also put a note on the collar to tell the person who is feeding her that she is not homeless and please give you a ring so you know where she is lol..... Do you have a wall around your yard? Is it possible to fence the top so she cannot get out and others cannot get in? or, can you put a closed in area in your yard where she can go out and enjoy the weather without getting out? Sounds as if she will never be an indoor cat and would be unhappy so you will have to find a safe solution for her. Do a search on cat enclosures. There are lots of ideas out there that can be modifyed and if it is doable in your yard it might be the solution and save some heartache :)

How many male cats do you have. How old are they. You said she is an indoor cat but she goes outside so not an indoor cat :)..does she have her own space in the house. Has she bonded with any of the other cats? how many cats sleep with you. How many litter boxes do you have in relation to the number of cats. Do you have vertical places for the cats to climb and get away from all the motion down below? Do you feed the cats with one big bowl or do they have their own. Is their space crowded....so maybe a vertical space would help. You could try not feeding her until the evening and see if she comes home for dinner. or...when she finally comes in, say at your dinner time, you lock the door andkeep her in. What does she do when you force her to stay in? There is most likely something she needs but is not getting to stay at home. Could be too many cats, too busy, she needs her own bed and space and food away from the boys...maybe more attention paid, play with her more? do the boys beat up on her....anyway, lots of questions :)
