sending your dog back to Canada is pretty easy. Exess baggage. rabies shots up to date, no quarantein. Don't know the cost but it is certainly not nearly as costly as Aus! or Britain. So take that worry off your plate and have a travel jar for your puppy :) Contact Linda Tedd on Facebook and she will give you the figures...she is a great relocation expert for animals :)

when we were looking for a financial adviser we looked outside the UAE and looked in our home country. We had great recommendations for this gentleman who came to the UAE 2x a year as well as all the other middle eastern countries. We have never looked back.; We checked into him and the company, made sure he work backed him up. He did not promise things he could not deliver. We are still, after 8 years, very pleased and happy with him. Do your due dilegence to find an adviser. You cannot get your money back. That is just the way it is....there is a lot of bad advice out there.

I need some advice from a seasoned wood finisher on the steps to take to finish an old looking unstained table. Don't want it to look new as I like it the way it is but needs a wee spiffing up and protection ;)...thanks in advance...

Can you build up toward the ceiling....walkways all around the top of the walls, things to climb up, windows to sit in. If you have a balcony, enclose it safely for them to go out. As for separating :(. They are 4 and sounds like they have been together for awhile. I would find them a home together. Cats do have cat friends and can grow close :).

I go for a colonoscopy every 2 years as colon cancer runs in the family. Every time they remove 3 polyps and all 3 are different but non cancerous :)....Do not let it get to you because they remove them, test them. then if they are cancerous you can start worrying :) but do not give the devil work to do that does not need doing lol

this little girl really needs a foster home if anyone might have room? She is in a cage at the vet right now. It seems her microchip could be from out of the UAE :(. Very possibly she is a pet shop kitten microchipped to get into the country :(

Of course it is not ok. But, if you love your friend she will still be your friend but you can only ask her not to smoke around you. If she really does not mean that much to you then you can break the relationship without it being painful. I would love my friend anyway, I dont have to agree but I will be there for her. Liked what another poster said. 'keep your eyes on your own plate' or, 'not my circus, not my monkeys'

instead of uprooting for a year (which is actually fun I think :)) why not spend summers in France? There are families that welcome people just like you what want to immerse themselves in the language and culture.

I wonder if it would be actually better to dispose of the breast milk before coming and starting afresh? I would not take the chance of something happening to it... A long way in a suitcase cooler... possibly bring the allowable amount of milk through customs.(enough for the trip)

absolutely agree with all replies 100% :) gardenlover, it is very sad that there are families that go through this and I understand but it take an hour or so to take that animal to the vet and pts rather than just leave it on the street :(. I would think it would be more heartbreaking to turn your back on a loved animal that to go through euthanasia.....

DEWA is being looked after by a few people. They are making sure he is ok and has food and water and shade. There are other abandoned cats on the street that have been spayed and neutered and they all seem to visit each other in the evening. I am already in Canada Bingo12 :). I caught him the night before I left ...he will not be pts because people are caring for him, he is not left alone. He is still looking for a home though, beautiful boy... There is another kitty on the street that is slowly edging into my friends garden and she is hopefully going to be able to have her in the house....the other cats on the street are also watched out for :)....they are all homeable.

I know there have been some little babies picked up recently that will be looking for a home.. Check out Bin Kitty Collective on FB, Feline friends, MEAF, 38 smiles and keep looking :) The minute you get a kitty or 2 please start a travel fund. You can do all your loose change in a big jar which will add up... also open an account for the kitties for medical as well as travel and any other expenses that come up. No dipping into the travel fund. That way, when you move you do not have to worry about taking your babies with you :)...you will be happy and they will be happy.

Marblesxx if you still have my contact details please send me your information :)... if not send to [email protected] thanks. Sheikandbake, I have to say, in all my years of fostering and rehoming I can count on one hand the number of times I have had a problem with a rescued adult cat. That was also when I was very young and was not doing things properly and also did not have the experience to know when to rescue a cat or leave it :)... so.. not many rescues are bad, only bad decisions where the cat was stray or feral and had not been domesticated. You also have domesticated cats that have become stray and feral after being on the street for a very long time. In Dewas case he has been domesticated and managed quite well as an inside cat for 2 weeks while he healed :).....He was also fine with the children and no problem in the least :)

ok ladies, calm down alright. This cat, for the time being, until a foster home can be found is still being well looked out for, fed and cared for....he gets lots of cuddles and visits. There really was no option of putting him down as he was a very healthy cat, abandoned. I do not have a problem pts a sick cat, feral who cannot cope but this one is absolutely homeable and we are still looking for a temp or family. The substation is a couple of houses away and everyone who matters knows he is there and keeping him as safe as they can. Yes, here was another option but it was the last option and he is being cared for, not just tossed out into the cruel world without anyone making sure he is ok, feeding him and taking to the vet if necessary. Can we please not debate this as Deb is trying desperately to find him a place and she could use the help not the critisizm at this point :)....thanks.

On your other points I agree 100% :) Hope you are well....I was ****** freezing in Nova Scotia last night...I was wrapped in my winter jacket and blanket. My glass of rum and coke with ice nearly froze my hand off lol

I agree ladies. Unfortunately so much has/is being spent on those poor sick and injured animals that will have to go through huge amounts of pain. I know the hearts are there but the pockets are empty and everyday donations are asked for...not that those that can be saved should not...just some of the horrific cases that are up to 10,000 dhm or more when so many others could be helped :(.....anyway, Dewa was abandoned, we neutered him, clean bill of health. This boy does deserve somewhere and not on the street :(....I am not majic to have a temporary home appear but I do hope he gets a reprieve from the streets as he does not know how to take care of himself. He is not a bin kitty. If he was, he would be put back and we would hope for the best, but this fella will die on the streets. Because he is so very healthy I cannot at this point make any suggestion that he be pts...so, if anyone has a space for Dewa, please help him find a family who will love him :)

you could try a hot face cloth applied take a 10 min break and try again with the hot cloth...when you are resting between put any kind of oil, though coconut is great if you have it and massage your breast gently pushing toward the nipple... but also in circles...then the hot wet cloth again....then get to the dr. tomorrow or tonight if it does not clear... any emergency dept can help....

We have talked a lot about what country we would like to retire......we ended up deciding the country that we thought was the most wonderful, was our own. Canada. Snow and all. Close to family, a short plane ride away..friends and not really having to start all over in a foreign country. Anyway, we really like our country and although other countries are beautiful and cheaper (Thailand for and example) they were just too far away, we want to go home :).... I met a gal today and asked her the question. She said back to the U.K. because she has friends there, family and she also did not want to start all over again in a foreign land. Maybe it is our age lol...
