really. I am much too old for babies lol....anyway. She is 5 months pregnant. Feeling like she is floating in the sea all alone. Does not know any other pregnant mums. Runs her own business so is a bit isolated as she works alot. Is there anything in the evenings she can go to to meet other pregnant mums? this is her first and she needs a mum lol...or something where she does not feel like she is going through this all alone :).... She is delivering at Medcare and says they offered her nothing other than Antenatal etc...so...any group...someone who would meet her...I will pass the info along :) and she lives in the Dubai Marina/jbr area :) edited by SueB on 17/10/2011

not sure who gave you that information but they are wrong in regards to not reporting because of a loss. When you got your NR4# you told RC what rent you were charging, they then told you what you had to pay each month. You still have to send the % into RC regardless. When you do your income tax at the end of a year or 2nd year you could get a refund, or not, depends on what it balances out to be. Now you can submit the NR6 once a year which I understand is the old way and pain the the royal rear. We submit for 2 properties each month...one is under reno so have not rented yet and the other send every month as long as there is a renter. If the property is not rented you dont remit. You want to err on the side of caution, get your # if you dont have one, remit whatever the amount is while it is rented. Our CA is in Toronto. Not sure what province you have the property in so cant help there :)... btw, you mentioned you are taking a loss by choice. Hopefully it is within market value for your area and not a very low difference for what that property would rent for in your area. edited by SueB on 16/10/2011

what a novel idea!!! baby monitor to hear the kitty when they show up....often they cannot get in the yard so one outside near an entrance would be perfect....I would think :) anyway, congrats that he is home and hopefully he will not venture out again. You could always build a kitty walk enclosure :)

also, if you want to rehome these kittens, you must handle them. Alot. But if you are planning on leaving them outside to fend for themselves you must not feed them everyday nor at the same time everyday. You can leave them a good supply of water but you must let them fend for themselves if you are not planning on rehoming them. They must become bin cats if you catch and release them. they must learn how to get food on their own. You will not be doing them any favours feeding them everyday unless you plan on doing this always, having someone take over this job when you are away and what will you do when you leave forever?

they have backpacks on wheels now dont they? A study was done in Japan about 8 years ago and found that kids where doing damage to their backs because of the weight of the pack because they wore them over one shoulder. They now sell backpacks on wheels...so..maybe that is the solution?

Sour cream - spinneys, choitrums or buy Greek yogurt, just as good :) Laban is also a great substitute :) spices, spinneys (large and choitrums large) C4 has a huge array...what spices can you not find here? Experiment with the snack dept for your son....so many choices here...what snacks does your son like? pop tarts...unfortunately (or fortunately) there is no substitute for pop tarts lol...why do you like them???? try some of the cheeses here. The counter people will always give you a taste before you buy :)...have fun, try it all and you might find you dont miss your stuff from the States :)...even Pop Tarts lol.... Everyone is right, Safestway is the place to go for those very hard to find products but....who knows, they might show up on your local grocers shelf today and be gone tomorrow, never to be seen again...so, think locally..you might have more luck lol. p.s. I found yoplait fit yogurt 3 years ago,, it was great, have never seen it again lol...

you could just tell your daughter that if she talks baby talk you will not respond. You can also say the same thing to her friend and that baby talk is for babies only and not 6 year olds .......that since there are no babies in the house they must speak normally.......who knows, anything could work lol..just be firm, :)

then maybe someone should come up with a better question than "where are you from" to make it clear what it is you are asking :) Maybe I am not complex enough because when I ask where are you from I usually mean where were you born..then...I might ask other questions ie their heritage because ultimately that is what you are asking, so maybe the question should be "what is your heritage" ???

I am Canadian, that is where I was born. So, that is where I am from. Maybe people should be asking the question back to the questioner, "do you mean where was I born, or where did I grow up, or where did I last live? " then it would be easier to answer the question :) I would think anyway :)

Last temp assignment I had in the UK paid £8 and I had stoppages after that so although 48 dirhams sounds low it's not so bad considering you don't have to commit longterm. and I bet you paid taxes on that, so you take home was even lower. The 48dhm an hour is take home, not tax. It might end up..since you are comparing....to be 60dhm an hr or more before tax in your home country, if you were comparing :)

You will now have to dogs who are left alone for 11 hours a day in an apartment. :(:(...Homely Petz is a very good idea as well as Dog Walk for day care..your dog will be very happy :)

Grrenish, I dont think I mentioned it specifically but my plan was of course if I will ge their shots etc I would get them their 'snip' when old enough- I wasn't planning on finding them a home unless they were neutered! And if homes couldn't be found at least they wouldn't be having more babies like you said on the other page. I would prob have to get them done one at a time thought depending on how much it is. What I mean by Im, sure they'll be ok is, they won't die. I wasn't planning to just keep feeding them indefinitely without getting their stuff done :) Mum was the first target but since she's scarpered I'll have to focus on the kittens!!! Do you know how to tell if they are desert cats or not? Tried google but still not sure! I bet mom will be back......with babies lol...if the kittens were weaned the mom went off to 'get some'lol. if she shows up, whisk her into the vets pdq :) edited by SueB on 09/10/2011

11 hours is an awfully long time for any dog to be alone in a house :(. She has just had 10 days of company with her all the time and I bet she enjoyed it immensley. Dogs are pack animals not solitary. It "could be'' that that is her frustration on being alone again. You could try doggy day care a couple of times a week and possibly have someone come in around 2 to take her out....does she have a doggy door so she can get out if she has to go to the bathroom?

congrats guinness! clapping for your success!!! but what the heck has that got to do with whether woman choose to stay at home and raise their children or go out to work and send the kds to daycare/nursery??? honestly. We as woman have a choice!!! we make the choice whether we want to stay home and nurture or go to work. It is always our choice. If you want to stay home there is always a way to do it...if not, then the other alternative it to work at your career but never say a mother who chooses to stay home and feels strongly against working while her children are in their informative years is uneducated!!! and never quite made the grade! There are millions of phd's who are raising their kids at home, putting their working lives on hold to nurture the next generation. They are not any different than the woman who finished HS and took time off from being a public servant!! Sounds to me like you are the one who is resentful...resentful of those who had a good time and probably also got a degree and might be doing something they love or staying home for a time...give us a break here....we all have choices and we all think differently and we all have different levels of education...never assume because we choose to stay home and feel strongly about it that we are any less than you because you worked your butt off...you know nothing of all the woman who might be reading this thread and feeling like they might be less than they deserve...all woman are valieant in what they do and the choices they make, none are less than the other. Dont make the choices about education and working their butts off to get where they wanted to be..maybe they wanted to be home....

Heavens, I worked my tail off in my chosen carreer and was good at it... chose to stay home and was good at that lol....I went back to work part time when it was time, and was still good at it lol....I feel it is just as unfair to attack the working woman as to attack the non working woman..but let be women together and let those that we dont agree with hear our side without all the venem.....

I doubt money had anything to do with it. If they dont have enough evidence which they have already said they dont, and all the stuff that was done wrong, then they cannot convict her. Unless of course someone paid off the jury...

I agree with what everyone has said in reply to DR's letter in the paper. There is a point though that I think might bear thinking about. A very long time ago, in the dark ages, there was a TV program on the cost of having children and the nurturing of children. The long and short of it was this. If you cannot afford to stay at home with your children when they are very little and the cost of daycare probably means your takehome pay is diddly after expenses this might work for some. If you plan on having children and both work, bank one salary, forget it is there, dont use it for anything, just bank it. If you have to move to a cheaper place, maybe further from work, not buy things you want, only what is needed and live within that budget for a year or 2. Most of us can live on one pay, cutting corners and being creative etc, it can be done well. Then, when you have your children, you have 2 years of salary in the bank, you know how to live within a strict budget and can stay at home at least for a year. Anyway, alot of people dont want to give up what they have, or cut back etc, not saying anyone is selfish, just the way life is now....so, there you go, something to maybe think about. (standing, ready to get slaughtered lol)

you do know that whatever you put on your nails does not affect the nails coming up from the bed, right? and that it takes about 3 or 4 months for a new nail to grow from the nail bed to the tip.....so if you are still having problems with your nails a year after, there is something else going on with your nails :)
