anybody? an apartment would be fine as long as she has windows to look out, someone to love and feed her. Her vet bills if any will be taken care of so no worries there.

baby gates are an excellent idea and also removing the dog from the bedroom. Your dog is giving your baby warnings. You hope that is where it stays. Until the baby learns 'gentle touching'with the dog you will have to separate them to make each safe from the other. Encouraging the dog to move when the baby is there will not work very well. Put the dog and his bed behind a baby gate so there is not temptation for baby to grab the dog. Get a big toy dog and teach the baby 'gentle touch' with no touching the head or grabing the fur. Have the real dog sit and you guide the babys hand to the dogs fur and say gentle while stroking the dog. Anyway, get hold of Verity as she will teach all of you not just the dog :)

Please contact Feline friends and let them know you are looking for a home for your persian. they often have people asking for special cats and FF will make sure they go to a good home. Just another avenue.

sorry, I am one Canadian who does not like tim's coffee :). I figure if you need a double double then you are not drinking coffee you are having double cream and sugar with a bit of coffee, and the coffee isnt all that great. But, you are drinking a bit of Canada I suppose :)....have a tim's with a donut. I did, just for the heck of it, buy a Tim's while on the road and a chicken wrap...they both ended up in the bin after 3 sips and 2 bits ;(...nothing changed for me there unfortunately.

I have been going through this airport for 9 years and have yet to see any pat downs. What I have seen is pretty lax security, especially with nationals so I doubt they will be putting scanners in place anytime soon. I could of course be missing a whole other story behind the scenes.

the best advice I can give you? read the book, then mark pages...you honestly will be further ahead if you understand the whole thing including the what to eat, not to eat and the little notes he puts in the book. He suggests a diet drink (I use coke zero) lots of ice and it works. One a day though and you can have fruit yogurt but plain is recommended. Sugar craving will lessen with time. You are only on day 1 so just do it, do not try and fix your sugar cravings, just go with it and it will pass. Lots and lots of water and make you pancake in the morning unless you are a nighttime eater then make one to snack on later in the evening, they keep in the fridge, add lots of herbs etc. anyway, read the book, take the time :)

it should work if he does not have access, he cant eat it. It could also be the newness of having a new cat and the little guy could be feeling a bit stressful so..keep it clean and away from him and he might eventually settle down and forget the whole thing lol

Put the litter box where the dog cannot get at it. I used to put the box in a room with a door and hold the door open with heavy string. wrap around the knob, then around a nail, clip or anything that you can put into the wall (cup hooks work well) make it big enough for the cat to squeeze into butnot the dog. Not sure why they do this but some say it is a vit deficiency or...does the dog always eat the cat food as well lol.....she could be going back for seconds lol.. make sure everyone is wormed :) oh right, and scoop the poop twice a day <em>edited by SueB on 07/09/2011</em>

boy the maid has been tarred and feathered. She will lose all her jobs. It is not known if anyone in the house helped themselves as it cannot be proven who really took the money. This woman has been a trusted employee of yours for 10 years and has now decided to steal a large amount of money. If you know, beyond a doubt that she took the money then go ahead a tell her sponsor and anyone else she works for but...if you cannot prove she stole the money (looking guilty does not make one guilty by the way) then it is wrong to jepordize her job and reputation. As an aside, a friend had money stolen, accused the maid, got her deported. Turns out the husband helped himself and let the maid take the rap, because the maid is an easy target. Just mentioning.......

you left the safe open. You cannot prove she stole from you. She is illegal and you know it. You have a choice. Keep her on or fire her and never leave the safe open with such temptation. There is not a thing you can do about it. Suck it up and be more mindful.

Lora, you could try carrying her out late in the evening and put the other animals in a room. Let her walk around one room at a time. You can also try putting her in her carrier and bringing her into a room with the other animals but keeping her beside you. Do this in short stints and she might become more relaxed and venture out the door of the laundry room. If you do this frequently during the day (her in the carrier) she will get used to the house noise..especially the kitchen noise :).....she is pretty afraid right now and her world has been turned upside down :(...awful to leave such an old cat :(...how could anyone do that :(

she is right, drivers on your tail. You must learn how to merge in Canada. Go with the flow of traffic and follow the speed limits...learning to merge is a big thing in Canada...Dubai, not very much ;( You will get used to the road system in Canada, it is diffrent than Dubai, but not better or worse :)...just different :) You can choose to assimilate which is good. Your realestate agents are just that...they sell Realestate and have a license to do so....Apartment and house rental agents do that and that is all :)..a very clear definination :)...please take the time to enjoy your entry into Canada :)

well then, start the process of bringing her out as it seems as if things could be topsy turvy for her there. there is Dubai Cattery and Kennels (help out here ladies, dont think I have that right) who can help and there are other organizations. Hopefully someone on here will give you a contact in your home country to start the ball rolling. Since she is an indoor cat she will be just fine being with her family. A little stressful to get her here but all in all, better than being shifted to pillar and post :)

So I was told re: International Dr Lic against UAE Dr Lic.....but that is for expired licenses. You still need an address in Canada so if you Have rental property use that.

I was going to get a new dr license as I am home at the moment and I was told....get an international drivers license then apply for the new license here. Things might have changed since 2005? not sure but if your license has expired for so many years then it is right you go back to graduated license and more importantly your car insurance will reflect this!!! huge!!! It was also suggested that if you are applying in another Province that you get your driving record from the previous Prov to cover your bum :). As someone said though, if it has not expired then fine but remember it is another flag and if you end up with lots of flags yo could be paying taxes on earnings when you finally become a resident again.

It was a long time ago but dont be scared when they say surgery as it usually means they will drain the gland, it will be packed for about 3 or 4 days then they remove the miles of packing. It really is no big deal so try not to worry about it, honestly. Hopefully the antibiotics will work quickly. Good thoughts :) it is also an in and out day surgery, you will be a bit sore but not alot and otc drugs will fix it. Fine after a few days.

going to wade in here as an old broad.....Suzy, you say your dream is to have 3, you dont say you would love to have another, you say your husband would love to have another and is upset about you getting rid of baby stuff. So, you are askng here about 40 yr old mothers. I think you already know the answer in your heart about whether you really want to have another child. I doubt it really has anything to do with your age as 40 yr old mothers are very common now :) so, maybe you must be honest with yourself and listen to what it is that you want, rather than what others say, including your husband?????? good luck, either way :)

I believe they do (catwalk) and if not, there are directions on the internet for making a secure area for the cat. Never let a cat on a balcony, ever....unless it is secure. If it has always been an indoor cat, then leave it an indoor cat but put a secure fly screen on an open window and give her something to lay on...she will enjoy the wind lol

Sweetpea has the cutest personality....she perks up with interest with all thing lol...and I could just squeeze her she is too squashable lol.... I would imagine she is making friends with Liquorice and as they are the only 2 left are becoming good buds. Hopefully they will find a loving home together Assisi :) have you had any feedback on Pen?

I wish I was there to be able to help :(....eyeballs looking for black bears a cayotes lol...seriously, I have a brown bunny living under the deck...dropped accidently some romane lettuce tonight and I have a dog that waits for me in the morning to be let in for his cookie and 3 boston terriers under 6 months that I can cuddle when they stop bouncing lol...3 cats that I am patiently waiting for them to let me love them lol....oh dear......I wish I was there to help as these animals here have loving families, well, except for the bunny but he is wild and I will only accidently drop lettuce now and then lol... having said all that..I do hope someone comes to openday and falls in love :) <em>edited by SueB on 27/07/2011</em>

Assisi...fingers crossed they will go t the adoption day!!! Sweetpea and Penelope are just wonderful kittens, Pen is so laid back and cuddly and Sweetpea is just so perky but loves cudding as well. I am sure the other kittens are just as lovely but I fostered Sweetpea and Pen before I left for Canada and they really are just wonderful kittens!!!!!! They are just out of the crazy kitten stage but will still provide lots of fun and are so desperate for a family to love them :(

I read the other posts on the forum. Your friend must grow some balls here in order to protect the kitten she rescued. You cannot just toss a 2 month old kitten outside after taking it in. The husband should ****** well smarten up and get over his little self. It is a kitten not a big destructive monster and it sounds as if he is wanting to get his way ad show who is the boss. She needs to advertise everywhere but be particular who the kitten goes to. The husband is being unreasonable and needs a good chat. Send me his number.

moo moo, have you thought of putting an article in 7 days with pictures etc.? I am wondering why the animals keep coming back? is it that the new families are not giving them enough settling in time and separating them from their own animals. Do they know it can take at least a month for the settling period? Maybe you need to print off instructions to send with the cats :(...how awful for you as it is near the mid of the July :(.... Or, do a big poster????? I am sure you will find a home for them.........sending good thoughts :)

remeber too that the baby is probably not thinking to be scared of the older one :)....he just wants another cat cuddle. I had this exact same thing with my 2 up for adoption right now. The little one was only 6 week and the older one was more like 10 or 12 weeks. The 1st 5 days were iffy but now they get along very well. The little one wanted the other cat to cuddle with. So, dont worry, it will happen. I think one of the reasons for the success is that they were both in one room and had to sink or swim lol

I am very sad to see these kittens still do not have a family, together or separate :(. I know there are so mny right now looking for homes and I can only say, I had them for over a month and they are lovely, cuddley kittens who would fit in well to anyones homes. Because I am in Canada for 3 months, Assisi has them at hers, but she is also going away pretty soon, so, if you are thinking, considering, wanting a warm cuddly kitten, please let her know :)
