then maybe you also need to take a small course in bottle feeding newborns. You never know when kittens will land in your lap...but without a mother :(...... good to know what to do :)

she needs to take him to a vet to neuter him. Otherwise someone may just use him as a kitten provider.... does he have all his shots and is he registered?

too cute :). Lilly looks to be about a week older and growing well :)...she would be the big sister. Looks like she does not mind your dog :) Have you had any interest in the future rehoming?

try Thomas clumpling litter. It does not have a smell and i have not had a cat that turned its nose up at it :) The crystals though have been a dismal failure for all the cats lol.... edited by SueB on 19/06/2011

oh dear you do have a big problem :( If you have had him in his own room for 5 days surely he has used the litter box? Ok, get bowls of food and put them every where he pees. You of course will have to control your pup during this exercise as she will eat the food. the cat will not pee where she eats. give it a try. Also take him for a crystal or urinary infection, just in case. Or, he is just totally ****** off about the dog lol...btw, crate training is a marvelous thing lol

Sadly, Miss P and Sweetpea did not get adopted to day :(. They have now gone to Assisi who will foster them. She will also be leaving in 3 weeks for vacation. If anyone is considering these girls and someone will be home in the day, they can go separately. If they will be alone all day, they will have to go together. It is always better for kittens this age to have company and not spend lonely day alone.

I know. :) They go to Open Day today. I am worried they wont be homed and will go to another foster home. (a good foster home though, I know) but, I still worry, even though I know they will be fine but scared :(. I am packing all their stuff and throwing in a cushion they sleep together with, and smells from their room so they wont be sent without the smells. If anyone is thinking they might like to have these 2 girls, please let me know asap so I wont take them to Open Day. They truly are lovely kittens, not too nutty, cuddles all around, big purrs....

I could by kayaking in a wet suit lol about the leaving home. yeah, it will, but...you will be ok :)..we all eventually slot ourselves into a space here where we can live both at home (in our heads) and here :) Do hope you get the animal certs organized though. Please give Dubai Cattery and Kennals a ring from this end just for info if nothing else :) edited by SueB on 17/06/2011

Hello ladies....a few weeks left and I am panicking. Just got a voicemail from the government vet from the Cdn. Insp. Agency who supposedly had to sign my 2 cat's health certificate.( I left him a voicemail to make an appointment - took him 3 days to call me back!) He said in the voicemail that the process to approve the health certificate is "rather complicated" (I almost fainted) and that once signed, the certificate had to be sent to Ottawa, then to Dubai, then back to Nova Scotia, where I am.... OMG! I have no time for that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any mail takes 2 weeks to get to Dubai alone, even on express mail!!!!! One week to Ottawa!!!! I thought I just needed his signature!!!!! Is this the correct process???? Whats the fastest GUARANTEED way to mail something to Dubai??????? HELP HELP HELP!!!!!! Thank you immensely I suggest you use Fedex and pay the overnight fee if you have to :(. Since there is a mail strike the mails isnt getting through anyway. Fedex from Canada usually is 3 days. Agree with Green-ish here, sounds like help would be a better thing as they know the procedure. I would call him back, (there must be someone else in the office??) and ask why it cannot be sent to the UAE Embassy in Ottawa instead of going to Dubai? note: after reading the below I see why it has to come from Dubai....call the dubai cattery and Kennels for help. They are highly recommended by people who have used them :)..I am sure they can get things done quickly??? http://www.dkc.ae/ These people possibly have answers for you, give them an email or call. http://www.pettravel.com/immigration/unitedarabemirates.cfm http://www.hziegler.com/locations/middle-east/articles/bringing-your-pets-to-middle-east.html edited by SueB on 17/06/2011 edited by SueB on 17/06/2011 edited by SueB on 17/06/2011 edited by SueB on 17/06/2011

since I stopped eating wheat my body hurts very rarely now. When I have bread, the next day my body hurts. It took about 2 weeks for me to notice that I did not hurt anymore. You might give it a try along with everything else :)

sweetpea went for her final shots today. She is now chipped, registered, shots etc all up to date..ready to go. When I took her out of the room to the vets, apparently Miss P was very unhappy and howled until my husband went and lay down with her. She cuddled up and went to sleep :)

Yes Bomerang I would say that if it was my DD!!! and as a matter of fact, finishing what you start has been a big thing in our house. If it threatened life and limb that would be a different story but, it does not. It has been followed in our home, not always liked and sometimes relented but for a darn good reason. Finished what you start and eventually, it will end. So, I personally dont think it is a terrible thing to say, unless of course I would be fighting my Dd's battles for her.

oh geez, getagrip ladies lol....the story is not about strays on the street, it is about an animal that was brought into a family then taken to be put down unless another home could be found.... but then, we will always have someone to argue with lol....spice of life.

not sure if this is helpful but you can get 'for a fee' a quick passport. I lost mine in Canada and had a new one in 2 days after alot of tooing and frooing, getting things signed and it cost $150.00 I think if you go online you will find out about doing it here. You will get more reliable info rather from the consulate ...just mean sometimes they are not very helpful. ps. I would sure be concerned about the whereabouts of her passport!!! edited by SueB on 14/06/2011

I disagree Speed Queen, it is not utter tosh. It happens all the time and so what if it is emotional blackmail, sometimes looking at it from another point of view will make people think twice. Who knows. Sorry but it is tosh..it is trying to emotionally blackmail people into getting / saving a rescue dog. Low down and dirty. I read it as a story about a person who got a dog then ignored it and put it in the pound to be rehomed because he didnt want it any more and....it was put to sleep. So, how is that emotional blackmail to get a rescue dog?????? To me it says, be sure when you get an animal that it is part of the family because you have made the committment to love and care for the animal and keep it safe. This story says that not all animals have a happy ending and hopefully people will have a good think before bringing an animal into their lives. Still not utter tosh. But if you see it that way, that is your perogative :)

Yes Green-ish, I do have a foster home lined up for an emergency. You know, when you have kittens for over a month, get to know their personalities, laugh at their antics, see them run to you the minute you open the door and want to be cuddled if they are afraid. Well, you just love them to death and worry yourself silly over them getting a wonderful loving home. Leaving without them being homed will be a worry but I know the foster mum will do her darndest to find a home but she is also going away in 3 weeks so they MUST be homed rather than go to another foster home.. Whew,,did you want to know all that? lol...hope things are well at home :0

we use Rostimani(sp?) and it always goes through, except once. They found it quickly as I had the receips and it was the banks mistake. We always do it with cash as it i cheaper than sending fund transfers through the bank (hsbc) the bank lost it the first time and it took a month..now, cash and carry lol
