Hi amanda, I had my old girl (17 now) done at about 14. the chip is very small and she didnt feel it, or if she did, she didnt react :). You never know when they will make an accidental excape, better to be safe, get it done :) any vet will do it. She will have to have her shots up to date I believe....

http://www.cathealthcareguide.com/feline-pan-leucopenia.php Here is some reading material that will help you understand. If he is an inside cat that never goes out nor mixes with other cats and if he is not showing any signs, possibly. If he goes out as well as mixes with other cats then absolutely :(

Miss P is still waiting for her family :(....she is free to a good home btw and she does need a home soon as I am heading back to Canada mid June. Sweetpea is an FF kitty so needs her 1st shots but anyone can reserve this cutie. She races to me the second I open the door and wants an immediate cuddle. She will be good with another kitty or will happily go with Miss P :)

I think you need to go into her boxes to find out what it is so you know what you are shipping. And, if she is being fired for theft you need to check all her possessions to see if she has anything of yours in her room. If you sponsor her you might report her to the police. If you dont sponsor her,you cant say a word.

I am sorry, but she always took care of that herself. I honestly do not know who to call and she is out of the country right now. Hopefully someone on here can ask their long time maid the question to help. Good luck. Dont worry about sending it the same day though as it often waits (in cargo) to be shipped for quite a few weeks and sit on the other end as well until she picks it up. I think she does send it by Air Arabia though??? I understand the maids get a good price but honestly, you will have to check. Just a sec. The stuff you want to send with her is just clothes etc, not furniture? if so, then those big plaid zipper bags which they all seem to travel with should do it and just send it as extra baggage if that is the case. I am thinking of the big wood boxes they send everytime they go home to visit lol... <em>edited by SueB on 21/05/2011</em>

another shocker lol. I thought Hailey's jaw was going to hit the floor! I am thinking that 2 country singers who made it to the final must mean something to have been kept on. I mean, country songs have always been pretty earthy for the most part and maybe people are connecting with that. Considering the times right now, maybe people are just wanting simple, normal, earthy, by the fire music. Who knows..thats my best guess anyway :)

just ask yourself, what can you do and do it. If you cannot do anything but bend over and kiss your butt goodbye well, then, there you are. Why worry yourself sick over something you have no control over, love your child and family and if it happens, it happens....but, dont spend the short time you might have left worrying yourself sick....

I am sure one of the vets would put her on display to find a home. Did you try Feline Friends???has she had any vaccinations? how long have you had her? It is very irresponsible for you to look for a home with 2 days before you put her to sleep.

yup use it. If there are nits in the house why take a chance. We used to have to wash all the bedding and send out the pillows for a good cleaning. so, would do the hair, wash the bedding in hot water, over the pillows, wash your hair and hopefully it will be done.

8 weeks old???! er... talk to them, sing, dance around the lounge, lay them on a play mat and let them look in a mirror at themselves, show them plants and flowers on your balcony/patio (through the window in this heat) goodness.. surely you don't need to take an 8 week old to a class for entertainment? god help you when they're 3 years old then!! what'll be left? I was just thinking this. A nice walk early morning after breakfast, playtime, snack, lunch, nap dinner, bath, bed, snack, etc :)....anyway, totally agree. They dont need to be entertained all the time, they learn to entertain themselves ie mirror, hanging toys they can bat, listening to your voice talking while you do things, music etc..

There is a very good Sleep Clinic at the American Hospital. You might try that. You would be best to start with your husbands GP first and he will direct you (hopefully)

what a shame that this was moved over to the Pet Forum from the main forum. It benefits all, not just pet people. there are people who see cats in their travels and can decide to have a look, and who knows, they might see the cat as missing and it gets returned to its owners. Simetime things can be pretty short sighted here :(

right now they are taking a 'meeting at a time'approach, and will not get the media involved until other avenues have been exhausted. I think though, that Irish Village is trying to to the best they can and with FF's help they will get where they need to be :) Sharing the battered cod. Hmmm that could be a big part of the problem :). not everyone wants to see kitties jumping on laps and helping themselves to dinner. A policy of "do not feed the cats please' could be a good thing if everyone is to remain happy. btw. I am sure specific donations to the catch and release fund would not be remiss. <em>edited by SueB on 16/05/2011</em>

lots of people who are brought up i the country do not have inside animals. I think people that do not take care of animals and just let them wander around really have no idea what they are like. Lack of education I would think. Cats are very clean and if their itter is clean and they are healthy why not? good lord, some people i know are much dirtier than animals lol... I say, put a sign on your door that all animals are welcome and only tolerant people lol...

js, you have a choice. Eat the popcorn or dont eat the popcorn. If it is something you absolutely must have, then have it. A bomb will not drop on your head but for the next 1 or2 days, go back on the attack phase and dont be a fallen woman again for awhile lol....

agree with Sticky. While you wait after her warm bath when she is relaxed you can give her a gently abdomen massage, that always helped with mine. Gentle is the word. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYBeurv0CFg

yes, at the vets usually, not sure about the pet shops. I tried the plug in and it was useless but I do like the idea in the link I sent about putting it on cotton and rubbing the sides of the head etc, have a chat with the vet. Gals have used it on here with success :) I am wondering it it might help to go right back to the beginning. Separate room, slow introduction, switching blankets etc????? just a thought :) <em>edited by SueB on 15/05/2011</em>

Dear FF, As we are all aware about the situation with cats in UAE is unsustainable, making this issue belong to no one in particular, and to everyone... Bag community management I like to call it. The issue will NEVER end by one party only taking action : Why not to request help to the three parties involved (public members wishing to financially support it, Gov. representatives as they have facilities and helpers, clinics to do their best with the cost) I will like to propose the following; Gov representatives, could come and trap the cats under FF supervision. The cats then, get transported to one of Dubai reputable clinic for sterilization and ear chipping. The next day Gov representatives will collect from the clinic and release them again under FF supervision. WE will all find the money to cover the cost. Should you wish to take this option , kindly email us to [email protected] An animal lover... nath, that is exactly what FF is in the process of doing right now :)...it might be a good idea to contact FF yourself nath with the suggestions and maybe your organization can lend a hand :) <em>edited by SueB on 15/05/2011</em>

The cat should go back to familiar surroundings until he is comfortable and over the op, which should not take to long. The hormones do not settle down immediately though so why not wait a couple of weeks . Is the cat spraying in his current home? hopefully not but not surprised as they did not have him fixed. That might be a question to ask. here is lots of info on the introduction process. Do not deviate. So many people think it is cruel to put the new cat in isolation, but it is crueler to drop him into a new, unfamiliar area with no 'safe zone' so, follow the instructions and hopefully, they will get on. Be prepared, it might take a short time or long time :)

Well, Miss P and her sidekick sweetpea are still working things out. sweetpea is so small but sure is fiesty and can hold her own ...she is teaching Miss Penelope how to play as sweetpea is the Queen of Play apparently, anything is game. Miss P would love a home and a family to love her. She is a lovely cuddly Torti and will make a great kitty for a wonderful family. Sweetpea will also welcome a home, she still needs to have her shots though but anyone s more than welcome to come and have a look at them both, just in case :)

Irooni, I am wondering if you are eating enough food and I dont think you are eating enough protein, how about a grain?. If we do not eat enough calories our bodies hang on to the ones we give it because they do not kow if they will get more food. When our bodies get adequate calories then our metabolism works much harder because it knows its gonna get more :) so the furnace burns hotter :). (pretty basic but about right) why not add protein (3oz fish or meat) at lunch with your small salad, have some 0% fat yogurt for a snack. You might find you will start loosing again when you put a bit more into your body. It is still calories in / calories out though to lose weight so I am sure with the tips given here to be more active yo should notice a difference.
