we have been using the nordictrack treadmill for quite a while. Nothing is sore(am 60), great running surface but not all that cheap. The cheaper ones dont have the same cushioning. Try before you buy. You will usually know in a relatively short time how it feels for you and the more you try, the more you know which one feels good. Not everyone like treads and i am not crazy about crosstrainers/eliptical but lots of people are so it is a definite personal preference. Anyway, we tryed about 10 from cheap to very expensive and settled on this one because it felt right and have not regretted it. We also tried crosstrainers and boy, there is alot to consider, front wheel drive, back wheel, size of wheel, position f feet, distance in stride....we did settle on one but...it was sold out so....anyway, get the one you can afford.

Non fat or low fat yogurt is made from skim rather than whole milk. It is always good to read the label though for the sugar content. Best under 6% and not alot of those around. I take Yoplait low fat/no fat and mix half with 0% greek yogurt...yum. Same with cottage cheese, skim rather than whole milk etc. Now if you are talking heavily processed foods I would imagine but dont normally eat processed and when I do I dont look at the label lol

good for you :)...if you stick with it, it will come off :) Not sure what the receipe is that would be using baking powder but it the other ingredients are fine then no problem but....if it is high carb be careful. Keep drinking the water :).... you can use Oat bran rather than Wheat I would think. I use Oat bran in a few things :) <em>edited by SueB on 22/04/2011</em>

frozen desert topping...mimics whipped cream but without the guilt lol. You can use Philly lite (the no fat is awful) but now and then and small amounts :) as for the cool whip, I have never thought about it but I suppose you could, in small amounts, not the whole tub lol. Like anything on this diet if you have something that is not listed it will show up eventually if eaten enough :)...but, hey, if you have to have it now nd then, have it :) Wheat bran in place of baking powder? not sure how that would work. You can add oat bran to things, just not yogurt because it is awful as it expands lol. Everything in moderation except the food on the list :)....if you feelyou cant live without something the eat it, just remember that your weight loss might slow down but, it keeps you on the diet for the most part and you are losing, then who am I to say lol

oh dear. If you live in an apt and are thinking of getting a puppy, and work all day, then.....don't :(. Dogs are very sociable animals and a puppy who is not already toilet trained will have a tough time with no one around to help him and keep him company. There s also the behavour aspect. He will be lonely and will most c ertainly get into trouble when left alone. I would suggest an older cat if you want company, one who is used to being alone or better yet 2 cats :)

I am not even going to read the responses (being thursday and all that lol) You will learn, time, give it time, don't fret, read, watch others and it will come...baby steps lol. I am amazed at the things I did in my 20's that I laugh at now at 60 :)...dont sweat the small stuff...who wants to eat off floors or unburnt food anyway lol....

Ermm the OP is asking for suggestions not condemnation for caring lol...I think I would be more worried about her drinking to excess and going home without her belongings with a stranger rather than the photos. I would call her and gently suggest she change her privacy settings in case she didnt know all her photos were public...if she scoffs at that idea, dont worry about it then, if she didnt realze and does change the settings, dont worry about it :)...sounds as if this is her first year in uni and she is partying rather than studying, unfortunately, this is normal for alot of kids and also, hopefully she will get over it before damage is done. So, I would leave it alone for the time being. You could start having a conversation now and then with her just in case she could use someone to talk to somewhere down the road...leave the door open, just in case.

Caution with the Ducan Diet. the National Agency of Food has classified it as unhealthy, so as the British Dietetic Association who called it the "Do-Can't diet" and cautions against it. The Director of University Nutrition in Washignton called it "Atkins reincarnated". first of all it is not high fat/high sugar as Atkins. You only stay on the protein/dairy for a few short days and what you are loosing is water weight which Dukan is honest about. the alternate protein dairy with protein dairy and loads of vegs....fat is min and what your body needs and alot of other nutrients. The only thing missing is fruit andthat you have in the consolidation phase along with everything else. I feel it is a pretty healthy diet and one I am not bloated, tiredor bored with :)...I always suggest that people read the book before going on it to understand, you dont stay on the complete protein days for the rest of your life and hopefully it will teach you how to eat sensibily without overdoing the carb, or proteins and certainly sugar is a treat not a food ingredient :) <em>edited by SueB on 19/04/2011</em>

yes 1 tsp is allowed but if cooking, put in the tsp and wipe the pan with paper towel. Artificial sweetener, they recommend asperteme, I hate it and use Stevia. At the end of the Attack Phase in the book are the receipes and a sample 7 day menu :)...the web site for Dukan has lots of info :) I do use a bit of oil when I think it would improve the receipe but usually it is not necessary. I do use white wine to do my salmon and other fish so you dont need oil. ie..2 salmon, skin down, shallow dish, pour over about 1/2 cup good white wine, top with Herb de provence, toss in oven at 200 for about 17 min (if very thick, leave fo 20) take out and cover with foil for 10 minutes and it should be moist and perfect :)..I always double this and have some for breakfast :)

I am thinking you have the book but have not read it yet :). There is a huge list of things in the book that you follow as well as receipes to get you going, which are pretty easy. The non fat dairy (try to keep the yogurt under 6gm per serv) I eat anytime as a snack, with breakfast and I often buy greek yogurt and mix it with vanilla ...like pudding. My husband makes oat bran porrage every morning and has yogurt and maybe a slice of meat, coffee and water, me it is 2 eggs or egg beaters, yogurt I boil my eggs and add a spray of grapeseed oil a squirt of lemon and salt and pepper. Maybe a slice of meat, coffee / water...snack, yogurt or meat...lunch I often make a meat loaf or lemon chicken and have leftovers for dinner. It is not fancy and you are not on the attack phase for very long so it is pretty easy. Anyway, take a look at the list in the book for the Attack and give the book a good read so you know what and why you do things. Good luck :).....Dairy I buy at Spinneys. btw, he also recommends to eat as much as you want the 1st day to help you get on your way. The cravings are usually gone by day 3 and drink your water!!! so important to flush out the system...so drink and drink :) <em>edited by SueB on 19/04/2011</em>

no, her passport is her responsibility. If she is Sri Lanken she has the option of getting a passport that only lets her go from Sri Lanka to Dubai and reverse. This is what most of the ladies have as it is inexpensive. The more expensive is the passport for everywhere else in the world. But as DR said, if you want to pay for it, that is your choice.

the Bag spa cleans leather, dyes leather and fabric, repairs bags and does touch ups. It would be worth having her bring the bag in to see what it would cost to repair, if possible. She might just go to have it dyed another color so it can still be used. I would certainly let her know and offer her a 150 gift cert. It is is McGrudys mall, on Beach road, behind spinneys, near the One :) top floor in the back.

I can guarantee she is very close by unless someone has picked her up and taken her home, hopefully with the idea of finding her family. Has she been microchipped? knock on everyones doors next to, in front of and behind and ask to look in their gardens. Put something of hers by your front door so she can find her smell. Contact Feline Friends and put up her information in the lost and found section of FF www.felinefriendsdubai.com there is also a section there wit ideas in finding a lost animal.

I have a 17 year old and a nearly 2 year old. The old girl was not pleased one bit that this upstart moved in when no one else wanted her. It was bad enough she had to protect herwelf against my cat hating dog ( thats sorted now lol) now she had a resident kitten who wanted to play. Well 1s5 years down the road and they co exsist. they are not intimate but olde girl tolerates the young ones prescense except when the young brat desides to attack. no blood i let and I let them get on with it unless intervention is called for but no big problems. cats will usually organize themselves quite nicely.

wear what you like but make sure it fits properly :). You get bigger boobs and wider hips along the way so make sure you have support for those 2 babies and get a suit in the right size so you look good and not look like you are wearing a 2 sizes 2 small bikini. I do believe they mke bikinis for pregnant mums now ;) Just be tastful in displaying your belly :)

give her a minute DR...if they all lower their heels they might have more stage presence. They all look like chickens when they walk....but, Pia does have a good voice but not an entertainer in the least, it can be learned, to a point so good for her on the recording deal ;)

opportunities for positive learning experiences with your kids come up all the time. How the parents handle it will end up 'more than likely'how the child will handle it in the future. Sounds as if the little girl handled it superbly and mum can learn from this :). We do have to be aware of our childrens pain and we take it on board as our own :)..but kids are resilient and if the parent puts a positive spin on it after having a nice chat, the child will be able to deal with it in a good way. Just my thoughts

no one said there was a law but it is a strong suggestion on how to present ones self in public here. Little shorts are not it :).. or boobs hanging out or bum cheeks peeking from short or clothes that are so tight, going naked would be a relief to the eyes lol..or wazoos on display...really just not on.

I was in the salon the other day and an emirati young woman came in with the most stunning gently wavy/curly hair...so..sexy and she was having it straightened!!! sad..I kept think Shakira lol. Why not learn to 'dress'your hair for summer? French braid, reverse french braid, modified gibson...shoved up with chopsticks...there is so many things you can do with your hair :)...cut it to make it healthy then shove it up, pull out a few tendrils and voila..summer hair. I had hair to my bum until I was about 33..and cut it. It is very short now, 27 years on and I love it...easy to care for and I can change the style :)...anyway...work on it and see if you can come up with alternatives with dressing your hair. Long hair that just sits there, I find boring...spice it up lol <em>edited by SueB on 08/04/2011</em>

Ladies, sometimes people (including myself) receive great service or someone asks for recommendations and they are given information or freely post how pleased they are and Lord help the person who has not posted before! or does not have a high post count because then, that makes them suspicious of advertising. I would think that as long as a person was not pulling up old threads and posting their services 10 times (which is blatant advertising) then the information they are giving might just be useful to someone! So, why not wait until you see a cluster of ads about the same thing before you start accusing a poor poster of advertising lol...geez. And btw, Expatwoman have people who delete the blatant posts in the end. \ Dubai Di, you had better not post this again or the girls will be on you like flies on fly paper. Another BTW.
