first off, I have not relocated our dog but....I have a couple of people who have. One did emirates to Toronto and he said all was good. Long day for the dog but the staff were wonderful. A friend who does relocations said that KLM was great and very caring. The animals did a stop in Amsterdam? were taken out and walked, vet checked, fed, cage cleaned and sent on to the next leg. Another also did Emirates direct. Dog did fine, again direct is a long day but there is an ending :) hope that helps a bit :)

you can get a wire cage for about 200dhm and place a towel over it. Make sure the cage is not too big with lots of roaming room as the whole idea is to toilet train :)...if it is too big he can do his business at one end and move to the other. Cage should be big enough to stretch out in and sit up but not big enough to get away from his business lol... also, the wire cage lets him see everthing so he wont feel isolated.

I could give you the long answer full of insites, advice, thoughts and possibilities but....I honestly cannot be bothered. You are not nagging. He on the other hand is being disrespecful in a very major way!!!! this is a man that i personally would not align myself with because over time, he will strip away your self respect because he feels he is much more important than you are and your thoughts and feeling come way below his. I would also bet, his friends come before you as well. Open the door and walk very fast the other way .. You will get over it, I promise.

Well, getting a debt counselor will certainly help get you out of that huge debt. Once the goals are set you will have a site line to work toward. Can be done :) On another note though, I am wondering if your husband has a problem? To have forged your name in order to get more credit cards is not a normal thing. It would be a sign of something deeper going on. I doubt it has been fixed considering the spending has continued unchecked. Do not be surprised if a few other credit cards surface or loans that you do not know about surface in the future. I might want to dig through all the personal stuff with open eyes. He could benefit from regular counseling as well as debt counseling. Make sure you do not hide your head in the sand to the problem as he has been doing. Good luck..stay strong :)

shoot. It's a good thing my husband got the stock of red up to snuff yesterday :).....securing the wine fridge. Seriously though, yes I am a bit scared but..if I worried myself sick about what 'could' happen I would be paralyzed...Get the exit papers in order make sure you have water, flashlights and put an emergency bag together and hope if something happens you can get to it. Dont forget money, blankets, sneakers not flip flops, long pants..................see there I go......

you dont use the humidifyer alone but with the aircon on. It is so humid here in the summer your children will roast without air/con. Get an air cleaner by all means but you will do more harm to them making them sleep in a styfling hot room. You can also see if you can get portable aircons, they can be moved from room to room and you clean the filers. They vent out a window which you have to seal. A fan will not cut it here in the summer. And, by not keeping the air cooled, with the humidity here, you are inviting black mould which will do your children alot more harm than aircon. May I suggest that you also turn off the aircon in your room as well? edited by SueB on 16/04/2013 edited by SueB on 16/04/2013

My husband threw up once late at night and when I woke up in the morning, all the vomit was there for me to clean up. He had closed the door so the smell would not permeate the apartment over night. Assuming he wasn't drunk I find it pretty sad that someone thinks it's ok to leave their vomit overnight for someone else to clean up :( And why would you not lift the mattress e was recovering on, rolled him on the floor, informed him that you would be at a 5* hotel for 24 hours. If the apt was not ship shape minus the vomit and smell, you would be staying there and enjoying their hospitality until the apt was fit to come back to...The only vomit I will clean up is mine and/or my childs...certainly not a husband who threw up and left if after a night out.

well you certainly can't leave him there to die. I would ask all the neighbours if anyone has a key or a contact number or even her name, or who the landlord is, or call the police and ask for their help. She might be gone for weeks and he cant live on toilet water, what if the lids are down? does she have a maid? the is someone who can help, you just have to keep asking! Hop the wall..see if they left anything unlocked. Does someone water their garden? Go to a window to see if you see the cat... edited by SueB on 12/04/2013

completely cover your mattresses in zip up enclosures.. Take the beds, dressers, side tables apart and check with magnifying glasses for evidence, all small cracks, splits, joiners etc... If there are carpets, remove. If there make sure baseboards all corners cracks splits are cleaned and sprayed. check all closets, corners, etc....clothes..suitcases especially. Hard to get rid of but it can be done.

can you take the kitten to the other side of the wall and wait to see if mum comes to get him? Can you then follow mum at a distance to see where she went. Do you know if she is eating enough? she could be starving and very weak :(. Can you leave food for her on the wall? and water?

I am wondering here...as I am not a gran yet but fingers crossed, one day I will be :)......anyway, I think your friend should inform the grandparents when the child is born to let them know about their grandchild. They might/could embrace the child/or not of course but..if it was me, I would want to know so I at least can make the decision for myself whether I would accept the child or not (I personally would without question :). I also feel she should give her child her name and not his as they are not married. He can be named in the birth cert but if she is raising the child alone then the child should carry her name. No reason to carry the fathers as he does not want any part of the child's life :(

M in Dubai, from what you are saying your husbands Alzheimers is progressing quickly. That is usually the case with early onset unfortunately :(. You will need 2 care givers I think. One for the daytime and one to help you at night. Does your husband wander at night? do you get enough rest? How is he being alone now during the day? does he go outside? How are you managing?? I can imagine your stress! I think a trained nurse who is also very familiar with Alzheimers is what you need. You could start, for the short term calling nursing organizations to see if anyone is available. You definetly need someone now. It is unfortunate that there is not a Walkabout program here :(....Do you have friends who could take him out for walks and spend a few hours with him sometimes during the week?

If the mother if friendly outside of the whole...get some tuna or salmon or sardines. She is most likely hungary if she is breastfeeding. Put it in the back of a cage and she should go in, you will only have one chance to close the door so close it tight as she will fight to get out.....then, scoop the babies out and into a box where she can see them. Take them home, put them in a bathroom and continue looking for help. The mother is hungary and thirsty, give her kitten food a litter box and her babies. She will be fine..cover the cage with towels so it is like a cave and turn out the lights.

M in Dubai, so sorry to hear this about your husband :(. What stage is he at now? is he able to stay alone and manage for himself or is he past that? I think the majority of people here with Alzheimer and Dementia related deceases tend to hire someone as I doubt there are Day Care Centers for adults. There is the special needs center Day Care (cant remember the name) you could start by asking there. As for a Day Care that would give your husband the stimulation he requires to keep him going, I somehow doubt there is one :(....Your Doctor would have steered you in the right direction if there was I am sure? He certainly should know? Does the neurology dept have a social services dept that could offer information? It really is amazing that there is not more out there because apparently early onset is quite common in the middle east but I guess families just hire someone at home. I would think if you keep your husband at home you will need support in the night times, especially if you are working. If he is into Sundowners and is up and down all night it will be exhausting. Early Onset does progress rapidly so yes, you do need a support network. There are woman on here who have family member who have it/had it etc (my mum for one) that will be support, maybe some of them have family members at home here in Dubai? I feel for you, I hope someone will be able to give you information for what you need. It is tough. :(

Isn't that just typical. Leave the animals for someone else to find homes for. Anyway, won't even go into all my thoughts but hopefully give you some helpful info :).. Has someone taken these cats in to foster? Are they indoor cats, are they safe where they are? You need to take pictures of these poor cats, make posters and plaster them all over the place. Feel free to mention that some selfish family has just left them. Put their pictures on Dubizzle and the information. You will have to do this every few days to keep them up top. (Open an account and when you put up a new one, delete the old one or Dubizzle may do that for you :). Please post on cat rescue sites on Face book ie. Bin Kitty Collective, Friends of Animals, Feline Friends Dubai, 38smiles. Not everyone does facebook so make sure the posters are renewed every week as everyone goes to grocery stores and corner shops :). Send the info to all your friends and ask them to pass the info along. do a web poster and put the link up here as well. Fingers crossed that they will be rehomed quickly.

for heaven's sakes.....when you open your locker and if there is a little pouch with paper underwear, put them on. If there is not, chances are you dont need them. when you get to the masseuse, if she wants underwear and you are minus, she will tell you and give you the paper panties. No worries, or..just ask :) BTW, I have never been anywhere here where you had to wear your own underwear, they are always supplies as far as I know. edited by SueB on 12/03/2013

I can only recommend Real pilates as that is where I trained :). I am sure 100's is also good...best to do the research, try both to find what you like.....you will find you enjoy some instuctors more than others and if they are properly trained you will always reap the benefits :0. and yes, Mat Pilates is now referred to as Core Pilates but the principle is still the same...your body must learn the basics and keep practising the basics and that is what Mat/Core does :) oops, that sounds like I am an instructor, I am not but a former dancer so pilates makes sense to me :) edited by SueB on 11/03/2013

you are looking for Mat Pilates. That is the basic and everything works from there. Real Pilates instructors are excellent and well trained. You also want a class that has a class limit or it is way too crowded, so ask. 100's near Wafi is a Pilates Studio as well as Club Stretch. Zen has them, but I understand their classes are pretty packed but you have to see for yourself :) and Zen Yoga has a few places around dubai that do pilates.

gib this is the last place you want to advertise wanting to mate dogs for the purpose of a litter. Most of us are proponents of spay and neuter here in the UAE. For the sole reason that there are already too many animals that have been dumped on the street because people wanted a litter of their gorgeous babies then could not find good homes for those babies with people who knew how to care for animals :(. May I suggest that you make a choice and not mate your dog for purposes of breeding. That would be the humane thing to do. And if you do choose to mate, may I also step up and say it is a very selfish thing you are thinking of doing :(
