I had the same conversation with my DH last night as I got a Dragon 32 (I think) when I was about 8 which is why I started the thread - but based on the majority of the other comments though of course the main worry is access to the internet which I completely agree with and we haae decided to stay with letting her use our family computer for the time being

thanks ladies - my feeling was that she was too young but wasn't sure if I was just being 'old fashioned and not up to date'- both my DD and DS use our family computer at weekends and then we watch what they are doing. There has been no mention of Facebook etc. I think she is more unsure about what she would like for her birthday and this just popped into her mind.

wow - i was actually a bit worried about a facial as I think my skin is pretty good and had been told in the past that facials would bring you out in spots due to the deep cleansing - but I am now really looking forward to it :)

Hi, my maid has just done hers and she also went to the consulate near al qusais - I don't think you can make an appoitnment - she just went along for when they opened - she was back home within a couple of hours. She was told 4 to 6 weeks for her new passport to arrive - they give you your old passport back and will call you to go when the new one is ready to collect

Hi, has anybody done this - we are going to Florida over the Halloween period and wondered if it was worth paying the additional money to attend this -it is not covered under your normal park entry pass and would cost us approx $265 extra to go

The wicker basket ... I once left mine on the bus going home from school with a savoury mince pie in it - my mum made me stand at the bus stop on the opposite side of the road and stop evry bus until I found the one with my basket ...

I live in Mirdif and drive to Bur Dubai for work every day (Bank Street) - it takes approx 30 mins leaving the house at about 7am ish - I take the Festival City Road and then the Garhoud Bridge and rarely get stuck in any traffic (tempting fate I know!!)

yes we have been a couple of times - the food is good and the service excellent. The setting is OK not particulalry romantic is that is what you are looking for. The seats outside have a view of the beach and pool. We have been both times as simply a change from doing the buffet option

Hi we are going in April and have made sure we have Hepatatitus A and Typhoid, also we realised our tetanus and polio had expired so got that too. Nothing is compulsory. Malaria is only in certain parts of Sri Lanka - where we are going Galle there is no need - see http://www.fitfortravel.scot.nhs.uk/destinations/asia-(east)/sri-lanka/sri-lanka-malaria-map.aspx

We tend to do alternate weeks at summer camps as it can get very expensive, for the weeks at home I plan something every day for then to do with their nanny - I ususally go to Daiso etc and buy loads of arts and crafts materials or get kits etc from Borders - they are some great websites to give you ideas !
