Off to London for 5 days tomorrow and thought I would be able to wear all my clothes for cooler weather! I will have to repack as its HOT there. Was so looking forward to some different weather Even if the weather will remind you Dubai I am sure the scenery will be completely different...rivers with swans and ducks, grass all over the place, beautiful trees, flowers all over the place, hanging baskets, parks...I miss all that. Just looking through my window and yes just SAND!

Hi ladies, My 1 year old is in nursery and has spills and stains on her clothes like you won't believe! So i need to have stock of lots of t-shirts/tops and leggings for her (she's not in dresses because she's crawling and they get in her way). I've looked for the best cotton tops and leggings that are reasonably priced, so far I have found: - H&M - Matalan - Max - some good ones Children Palace at Ibn battuta have nice tops and shorts. Leggings are cheap and of good quality at Max Ibn battuta too. I bought many for my 1 year old DD from max, mothercare, gap, next...and the best were gap, next and max...so for the price max is the winner. I think (surprisingly) Mothercare cotton isn't as good, especially after washing it seems to lose it's quality Any other stores?

Did you let the covers dry? I always put mine back on straight from the machine. I think they stretch easier when wet. If this is the case maybe re wet them and try to stretch them back on. edited by plum2 on 19/07/2013 Wouldnt that make them smell a little funny though? I thought the same :-) Anyway with kids around if I leave a wet cover on the sofa the result won't be good.

Hi, My LO dropped my iPad 2 on the floor and the screen shattered. After searching through some threads here I found a recommendation for CelMetro (www.celmetro.com). I called and they were able to pickup my iPad the next morning at 8am (arrived on schedule) and they actually brought it back the same day at 2pm. The cost for the iPad 2 was 375dhs including the pickup/drop off, the screen is OEM and it's guaranteed for 2 years. I would absolutely use them again, the service was fantastic! Good luck! DH just came back from Satwa and got my iPad repaired for only 140aed! He was quotes 1100aed at oasis centre! The shop is called Fast Step 050 5252183! They are opposite the bus station in Satwa. I cannot live without my iPad. It was shattered on the back and on the screen, it now looks brand new! I am so HAPPY! Just happened to me two minutes ago! As I needed this now! My DS just smashed it on the floor! Do you have their number?

SC, sorry for late response. Yes do like this garage but only have one grandson so dont need two. I note you are leaving on Saturday, where do you live? My grandson is 3 and into reading books, jigsaws, little toy cars and boys motors etc. If you have any of these, let me know. My DS smashed my iPad on the floor so I couldn't reply earlier. My lovely DH rushed everywhere to get it repaired and just came back from Satwa with my brand new looking IPad :-). I can't beleive they quote him 1100aed at oasis centre and only paid 140aed at Satwa! Smart move! I have most of the things you are looking for, worth a look I think. You can leave me your mail?

Is the garage exactly the same as the picture or similar? I cant find it on the ELC website. Trike, no thank you, we have one already. What I meant was a normal bike with stabilisers. Sorry was busy packing so didn't have time to check answers. Yes the garage is exactly as the picture. I have two garages and you can have both for 100aed. I am leaving on Saturday morning so let me know if you are interested. I have so many items that will be silly of me to take back home as I can always buy them there again. Tonnes of baby items of good brands, baby bed, toys...

I managed to detox my husband who used to think coke was water!oNe lost so much weight since. I also made sure my kids hate that thing. They only drink water and the occasional fresh juice. I am so angry when I see parents giving that stuff to young kids and saying "yeah but they like it"...education, education! edited by sweetcoconut on 14/07/2013

Sounds like a good plan but I first need to find someone to transfer the villa. Any ideas how? You can't just transfer the villa to someone else, your landlord has to agree with that first. If you do that you are basically subletting which is not allowed. If you're close to end of contract speak to your land lord. He could very well just tell you to give notice on the villa, move out and pay a fine of 1 or 2 months if that's mentioned in the contract. He will then just put the villa on the market. edited by Marroosh on 11/07/2013 The villas are owned by Nakheel, and yes we are allowed to transfer them if we want to end the lease before the end of the contract. But the condition to do so is to find someone willing to have it. So How?

Good morning SB, I am keen to get Keratin treatment done over this weekend. I have done rebonding a couple of times in the past. Would you mind sharing with me please which salon you went to and the conditioner you have been using? As for shampoo, you are using Johnson's. Many thanks! I had mine done at Pastels in mercato mall. The result was just incredible.

Thanks for all your replies, I am happy that you think the same...but again how to transfer my villa? I know these villas a very sought after as it is next to three schools (JAPS, DPS and Winchester) and they are quite unique in terms of size and layout but where to start? I have never done this before. I will drive around SO tomorrow to see the area. I think you are right Clairehdp Changing the plane ticket will be a must if I want to make it...I think the whole thing is worth a try. Please don't hesitate to give me ideas on how to find someone to transfer, I know many people are househuntimg at the moment but how can I let them know of the great opportunity?

My husband thinks I am crazy to even consider it :-( Anybody has been in a similar situation? Easy Peasy What would be your plan of action if you were in my shoes? Since having kids and never ever ever sleeping I am kind of useless and didn't really keep up to dates with all the tricks to be efficient in such situation :-( this baby brain thingy is real! What price should I expect for a 1 or 2BDR apartment in Dubai? Hubby's office is near academic city but I don't want him to be isolated from the world. if his office is in academic city then living in JLT would not be close to work at all... he's better off staying in Silicon Oasis! the apartments there are quite competitively priced and would be only around 40-50K Do you know if it is a well established area with a community feel or a construction site?

Mango has a local site now and delivers within 2 days, free of charge if you sound over 500dhs. I have a package arriving today which I've ordered on Tuesday night, and based on past purchases, they are always very efficient! They had loads of maxi dresses and maxi skirts when the sale started, but you can still find a few more! http://shop.mango.com/AE/mango What will happen if you need to return an item? Wrong size or faulty item?

I have also been trying to find some, but with no success :-( Do you know where to buy them? And how much to expect? We advised me to ask supermarkets, but I am looking for the ones without any brand on...I am moving back home and plan to take some boxes with me in the plane.

I went there last week and I couldn't believe the prices. We told me so many good things about offers available but I couldn't find anything interesting. I truly prefer Deira or Bur Dubai. What do you go there for? Am I missing something? edited by sweetcoconut on 10/07/2013
