So I have a new team member. On terms of her performance she is no where near performing after well over two months, but I will keep that aside. I have always made sure she understands the gaping issues in performance and am frustrated on that end completely. Still hoping she is able to come up to the mark. She is a pleasant, polite lovely lady at a office admin job level. So at the moment she is the only one in office today and I got a message saying "Please be informed I will be leaving at 4 today to see the dentist". Her time is up to 6pm. Now this is not the first time, I have been 'informed' when she is taking time off. As an employee I cannot imagine ever sending such a message to my boss even at a senior level. Yes, when I had flexi hours arrangement perhaps but otherwise no. Please let me know your thoughts - as I don't want performance issue frustrations to mix with this. I have a nagging feeling its my 'niceness' that gets taken advantage of all the time. Your replies will be gratefully appreciated. I would email her back so she has in writting for further reference, that she may not go at 4pm as the time off has not been approved. She need to have it authorised by her a supervisor. It sounds like she needs to go, if you already having negative feelings towards her....I always go with my gut instincts with staff..

Thanks If he is in Australia am has something that belongs to you, cant you contact the Australian police? it is theft at the end of the day. How disgusting, to do such a thing!

We had a Roomba when living in Europe & it was excellent! We have hairy dogs so had to empty it on a very regular basis but it did a super job. Battery takes an hour or so to boost & then you can set it off again. I wouldn't buy one of the cheaper versions, but I would buy another Roomba (if we didn't have a maid). It coped well with rugs but it swallows cables & gets stuck. Thank you, which roomba did you have? I found the roomba 650 for 250GBP on from amazon.

Hi everyone, Sorry if this has already been asked, but I recently moved here from the UK and have just started planning my Dubai wedding. I was thinking of hiring a wedding planner but the problem is that I have no idea of what the typical costs are, or what it is that I would be paying for. I was wondering if anyone who has used a wedding planner in Dubai could share their experience, including how much they paid and what services were included in that price? I understand this will vary depending on the company, but any insight on the market would be much appreciated! Thanks, Maja Our wedding, cost around 500K about 2years ago but that included everything food and drinks, our venue at Atlantis, photographer, videographer, invite, we had an indoor garden theme wedding, flowers....our wedding planner was amazing. her names is melanie at platinum events in motor city, would highly recommend her...everything went to plan and was perfect. wedding planners here aren't cheap but if you dont want the headache yourself totally worth it.

not sure if you would consider it but also have a look at Royal Brunei... we've used them before for both flights to UK and Australia and found their rates and service levels to be exemplary... nothing beats Asian hospitality for sure! only drawback for the Royal Brunei flights are the lack of inflight alcohol (so that could be a deal breaker for some) thanks but we flew with them before, we found them ok ..... food was not great on our flight and of course no alcohol needed on a long flight..

My partner (will be husband) if we move to Dubai, has been offered a job with his Company in Dubai. We are both oldies and I am wondering if there are other older lady expats living there. We will know in a few weeks if it is a done deal. I will not be working and I am concerned about being isolated. Would love to hear from other 50+ ladies as to what I could expect. Thank you. My mum is here and she is 55yr old, single and working. has lots of friends, I really dont think 50s are old anymore, life begins then. You will meet many people here. Lots of clubs to join.

We had 10 days in Vietnam, started in HoChiMinh City and then went to Hanoi for a few days, we flew internally, then flew to DaNang and spent 7 days at the Hyatt Regency DaNang. You can also get their shuttle to DaNang City and also to Hoi An, which is a not to miss place. Sorry yes, flew in and out of Ho Chi Minh City with Emirates. edited by littleone on 19/02/2015 Thanks x

Not many hotels in Dubai offer all inclusive so you might be limited with choices. The best is Jebel Ali Hotel / Palm Tree Court. There are a couple who offer AI at JBR, Movenpick and Hilton. If you are willing to travel a little further to RAK there is the Hilton Resort and Spa or the Rixos. Is Rixo good? is doesnt seem too expensive? Sorry I haven't stayed at the Rixos. It got very mixed reviews when it first opened but over the past few months I believe its got much better. We have booked in the summer for a weekend so hoping its good :) Ok, hope so. Please post and let me know x

DaNang on the beach, amazing. Halong Bay for a night, awesome. Hanoi is manic but fun and Ho Chi Minh City was awesome. We went in July last year and it was hot and sticky but nothing that a swim and some beverages didnt fix, plus it was a little rainy but didnt worry us at all. Absolutely loved the food, the culture and the people were really nice. Loved it. Thats sounds great, so do you fly into Ho Chi Minh City?

What a nightmare. Took me 2 hours and 15 minutes to have a gel nail refill and the gel chipped off one nail the next day and another one a day after that. After complaining and getting the nails fixed, two days later they chipped off again, went somewhere else paid again to have my nails redone. A huge amount of money, the management refused to refund the money or give a voucher for another treatment. I will never use their services again for sure! Anyone else had such an experience with this place? edited by Coolbabe on 21/01/2015 Tips and toes?

Hi Ladies! I'm in search of a good Chiropractic who can handle pregnant women's Spinal adjustments.... I've heard (just reading from these posts and online) about Dr. Charles and Dr. Sean from California Chiropractic.... and was wondering if anyone knows which of the 2 would be more experienced or actually practices chiropractic for pregnancy too? TIA Hi, I suffered from back problems while pregnant, my chiropractor mentioned something about how the hormorne relaxins loosens during pregnancy to prepare for the baby to pass though and this caused me some much pain in my pelvis and back. I found manipulation was amazing for me and reading up on it, it seems that is a great thing to do during and after pregnancy as things can tweak during labour. I saw Dr Sean at the California chiropractic clinic in Dhcc before and after labour. He is very nice and seems to know a lot about this. This was my first baby and i was high risk too so I was extremely nervous to try anything but it really helped. All the best

We adopted a rescue dog who use to like other dogs but in the past year has become very aggressive towards other dogs, can anyone recommend a trainer that can help with this? I would also want them to work with her with other training as she gets distracted easily and decides when she wants to listen. She knows basic commands such as sit, stay, down etc. Preferably a trainer that could come to our house or close to Dubai Marina and someone other than Positive Paws as saw a recent thread recommending them. TIA. edited by skyhighgirl1 on 13/01/2015 K9 Central, call Shamaine. They are excellent with these sort of things.

Hello, We are planning to return to Dubai March / April time and would love to hear if you had a great experience with a housing rental agent. Someone who goes the extra mile, actually shows up for appointments and proactively lets you know if there is a property matching your criteria. This didn't really exist when we were here before. It was more a case of us doing the search ourselves and going with whichever agent happened to be advertising that property. I always hated handing over agent fees to the agents who never did a thing to help, other than put the advert on Dubizzle. Seeing the hike in property prices and the crazy agent fees, I would like to find someone to work with us to find a home when we arrive back. Look forward to any great recommendations. Am I dreaming? TIA as always. edited by scotinbc on 12/01/2015 Try not to deal with an agent as they charge admin fees when ever they renew your lease so every year. If you do deal with one, make sure that they dont charge this as most do.

Oh, sorry i never read your message properly. We had a doggy door installed. No, there is no where that does these. I lived in Australia for many years and everyone has these and I tried to find this everywhere, no luck. please post if you find.
