Also the tahoe is a 8 seater while our volvo is a 7 seater the extra seat and room does come in handy with play dates and visitors and the same as the volvo the tahoe has proper seats in the back row, not just flimsy seats like some of the cars. Probably best to take them all for a drive and see which one is the right fit for you and your family. One more thing the tahoe has never needed its brakes fixed, the volvo twice in the same time (just the pads) not a biggy but adds to the expense I think the tahoe is just more industrial and bigger breaks due to the bigger car??

Your welcome, we have the 2013 model, hope you love it as much as I do, it cools down super fast as it has ac in all zones and has Middle Eastern spec ac and engine plus we have tinting (legal not local) the volvo we have ac is no where near as good and does take a while to cool down. The tahoe's cooled ac seats are absloute bliss on a hot day! Ours only has cooled seats in the front (heated in the back) I have had 2 minor fender benders when someone ran up the back, didn't even dent the bumper but the other car which was a sedan had a lot of damage, I guess hitting me was like it hitting a brick wall! Happy to answer any more questions.

I have both! Defiantly prefer the Tahoe! Much more road presence, much more room and much more reliable than the volvo we constantly are getting the volvo's ac fixed, constantly getting something fixed or it is always up for its next service. I have been to alot of malls here in Dubai I have never experienced my tahoe being to high. The volvo is nicer to drive and more of a pocket rocket, but I feel way safer in the tahoe, husband insisted on the volvo for his kids, but we have swapped and I drive the tahoe. The tahoe has heated seats, cooled seats, can start the car and ac from 100 metres away etc, also the Tahoe we have was made in Texas so much more durable to the heat here than our European car.....oh and the Tahoe is way cheaper to fix etc. If I lived in Europe I would probably say the volvo but not in this heat the volvo struggles in the summer.

Firstly happy new year! Ladies I really appreciate your replys thank you. It is invaluable to hear from people who have been through the process. We are travelling at the end of January and are taking our 10month old with us. However the email from Emerites says that they cannot accomate children ( referring to day 3 of the assesments, where they take you on the tour of the accomodation/favilities ) My partner is going to email to find out more. Has anybody taken their children on the tour? It is not an option for us to leave him behind. What do you suggest I do? Welcome! However I would recommend you learn how to spell Emirates before arriving LOL! There is no way you can take a 10 month old on the tour, besides I think it would be inconsiderate to the other applicants? Coming from a Emirates hiring background, I would not of been impressed if a Pilot turned up with his baby. It is a big day of on and off the bus, sitting in traffic, touring apartment blocks, villa's, the medical clinic, lunch and also the meeting at the beginning goes for quite a while, with information overload. I would contact the hotel and organise a baby sitter or perhaps come to Dubai to have a look, but don't go on the tour. Your husband can take video or photo's of the accommodation and answer your questions. Sorry if I sound harsh (welcome to Dubai and Emirates) but that is the reality. Good luck with the interview.

How frightening.....hope he is ok! Nothing in the newspapers of course....as nothing bad happens here. I used to feel safe here, not anymore, alot of people here now from unstable and dangerous regions that bring there old way of life here, hope the masked intruder is found, punished and deported and the victim makes a speedy recovery.
