Hey Kermi - we bought the pebble. Just checked it was 815 for the seat and 745 for the family fix base in Honda. Haven't played around with it yet but I do believe it has a few recline positions and a few other features the cabrio fix doesn't have. http://www.maxi-cosi.com/ot-en/carseats/baby/pebble

Hey Kermi, We bought ours in the Honda garage on Sh Z road - they are cheaper there than anywhere else I've seen, although colours are limited. I think it was something like 815 or 715 (family fix base was around that price too, just can't remember which item was which price) compared to places like Just Kidding where they are approx 1200... HTH

ah no worries, hopefully someone will have a recommendation! At the end of the day it's not a huge biggie, these things don't normally get to me, must be the hormones!

good for you Izzy!! I just had to get away before I punched her in the face...must be the pregnancy hormones....they should know better than to mess around with a 32 week preg woman!!

If you're going for pregnancy massage, I would actually recommend the one in the Marina Walk (if that's an option). I had the preg massage at the Arabian Ranches and it wasn't nearly as good as when I had it in the Marina branch. Also be prepared that the time is never what it says - I had a 90 min session booked which ended up being a 60 min session with 30 mins relaxation time (whatever that was), so if it is 60 min, your actual massage may only be 30-45 min... Enjoy though!

Maybe I'll just go for a head, neck and shoulder massage - it's my upper back anyway that seems to be the worst at the moment....and they seem to think that's fine :) Although...was really looking forward to a nice long full body massage!

hi ladies, Just wanted to ask your opinion on something...DH and I are off on our babymoon this weekend (and to celebrate his bday too! :P) to the Banyan Tree in RAK. We were both hoping to enjoy a massage while we were there (esp as we have vouchers!). I just called to check availability and they are saying that they don't normally do pregnancy massage after 6 months and that if I want to have it done I'll have to sign waivers etc and that they won't take any responsibility bla bla blah... I just had a massage last weekend at the Angsana which was fine, I would have thought pregnancy massage would be safe if they knew what they were doing...and you'd think somewhere like the Banyan Tree would (have had excellent massage there before). Do you think I should just risk it, sign the waiver and do it? I wouldn't have even thought twice but now I'm questioning if they really know what they're doing with pregnancy massage....or really shouldn't you have it after 6 months? Would appreciate your thoughts!! thank you!

Dr Ou is brilliant - just give her a call on her mobile and if she's with a patient she'll call you straight back. She works for herself and comes to your house :)

Thanks ladies! Was already using the Ecover washing powder, so will see if I can get the baby detergent from babyshop - need to go there anyway :) The calamine lotion also seems to be helping with the itch too.

hey leshell - nope just severely on the breasts and a tiny bit on the tummy - but mainly the boobs!! Just constantly itchy and it's driving me crazy. Just rubbed some olive oil in, but not sure that's making much difference either. Am seeing my doc tomorrow for a check up so will see what she says. I know there are other serious conditions when your hands and feet itch, but for now it's pretty localised :)

I'm just a bit wary of the Bio Oil now....that's exactly what I was doing, putting more on each time I was itchy but it's just getting itchier and itchier and more red! And I didn't have this at all until I started using it... Anyway I hope it's not incoming stretch marks, so far I've been ok and am already quite big (I think LOL) - have been moisturising every day diligently since the first trimester (with the cocoa butter)! sorry to hear about your train tracks Plumie - ah well, battle scars huh!

you can also try the Laughing Buddha stands in the malls - Ibn, MOE, Festival City...and I think there's one or 2 in the Madinat as well.

Hey ladies, I am 28 weeks and the past few days my breasts have been soooo itchy and slightly red looking, especially in between, and now it is moving to my tummy too. Is this normal and caused by stretching? I was using Palmers Cocoa Butter until about a week ago and then switched to Bio Oil as I'd run out and had Bio Oil on hand that my sister gave me to use....do you think it could be a reaction to the bio oil? Ahhhh sooooo itchy!! TIA!

Bugaboo Cameleon is what we've gone with and it does all those things (plus LOADS more) and was one of the lighter prams we looked at. Not the cheapest, about 5150 AED in total, however saw recently at Mothercare Mirdiff City Centre for about 4100-4200 ish.

Hi ladies, I am due with my first baby in April and my Mum is planning to come and stay with me for about 2 months, however the visa is only for 30 days. We can easily sort that by getting an extension or doing a visa run, but my question is, what is the best way to book the ticket? Do we book a return flight for 30 days and then change it after she's arrived? TIA!

thanks for all the suggestions ladies. I ended up looking at sooo many rugs today at MCC, and ended up with the rug I wanted from Pottery Barn but at full price, not the floor stock option which just looked a tad too grubby for my liking, even though they insisted it would wash well. Full price was still very reasonable (thanks Shelly!!) so am very happy with my purchase :)

When I lost weight (about 10kgs some years ago now) the things I cut out were saturated and animal fats and sugar mainly. I still ate carbs but ate unrefined and good carbs - things like wholewheat breads and pasta, brown rice, quinoa, vegies and fruits. Bread is not the enemy - rather white bread is the enemy and also the stuff you put on it, especially if thats things like butter and jam! I didn't drink fizzy drinks but if you do, definitely cut those out and alcohol too if you can and up the water and herbal teas...stay away from too much fruit juice or caffeinated drinks. Beware of "low fat" labels on things like yogurt etc as they might just be full of sugar. Eat lean proteins and replace meat and chicken with more fish and other vegetable proteins. Fat is also not the enemy, stick to good fats but make sure you measure along the way. Olive oil might be better for you than butter but is still fat so a teaspoon when cooking is more than enough. As Michael Pollan said - "Eat food. Not Alot. Mainly Plants"...so REAL food (stuff your grandmother and great grandmother would recognise as food, as close to natural state as possible without ingredients you can't pronounce, portion controlled, and with loads and loads of fresh veg). Good luck!

I just love my cat too - he's a crazy ginger 2 and a half year old with a larger than life personality...thinks he's a dog, loves water, plays fetch, eats his greens (esp basil and lettuce) and follows mummy around like a shadow. Alas his life will be changing very soon as I'm due my first bub...poor wee thing!

thanks giggles! I think Carluccios is OK, esp compared to the other local italians in the marina/jbr area. I quite like their seafood or vongole pasta and also their veggie antipasto plate. I tried Napoletana and the other one near Butcher shop on the Walk and they were disgusting!! Recently also tried Urbano on the other side of the bridge at Souk Al Bahar from Carluccios and Dubai Mall and that was also very good!

Hi Hersay, something natural you can try is boiling a teaspoon of dried or fresh rosemary in a cupful of water into a tea. Boil it over the stove for a few minutes until the water changes colour, drain into a cup and drink the tea. It really does help bring on deep sleep - my MIL who is an insomniac tried it while she was here over Xmas and was amazed at how well she slept. Hope that helps!
