Thanks ladies!' I never needed this treatment until Dubai! I've got this crazy frizz halo, and my hair feels like straw. :-/

I could never buy from the "open" spice and nuts, for all of the reasons listed below! All of the people walking by , coughing and sneezing all over- yuck! And God knows what else all over it! It is also gross to me all of the bread and bagels left in the open air at the grocery store. I once watched 2 people carry on a long conversation while leaning over the uncovered bagels. No thanks! (Barf!!)

Tara, good to hear of another Dr Josza fan. What type of delivery did you have? I had a cs with my first and desperately want a vbac this time. He seems very pro and is very positive and willing to help me achieve this. Juliana, I'm due early November. How about you? edited by MallQueen on 12/03/2013 I have had 3 "V" deliveries. He is very up to speed on everything. He promised me that he has never missed a delivery and of course would be there for mine no matter the day. Sure enough, he got to the hospital in the nick of time! His car must have wings! :-) I really can't say enough about him- he is terrific! :-)

Masafi has been great for us! They show up at almost the exact same time e Rey Tuesday. There have been times where I have forgotten to leave the coupons out, and instead of just going on, they ring the bell to check with me! :-) Really great service. And the bottles are always clean- they never use a bottle twice for water. It will get recycled into something else.

Tara, I got the H2O Pure Blue one recently, there is a list of stockists on their [url=http://www.h2opureblue.com/'>website[/url'>. I feel like it's helping with the texture although I still see a lot of hair fall (but I've only been using it a couple of months and I suspect the hair fall is mostly hormonal in my case). I am quite close to having all mine cut off, it's been nothing but a mess lately! Thanks Beany!! :-)

For me, City Hospital was just OK. I couldn't wait to get out if there. I had to actually ask the midwife to wash her hands/ wear gloves or use disinfectant when she came into my room. She had my blood on her hand, from putting my IV in, for an hour. She was in and out of my room dealing with other patients during that time. Just be vigilant.

Used Saniservice twice and have no complaints. The before and after pics were disgusting and then amazing. Not just dust in the ducts, and filters- also mold. They also do a fantastic job cleaning up after themselves. Would recommend.

Where can I find this?? I am booked for an appt. tomorrow , and was informed this particular treatment is "organic". I looked it up and it has been tested and confirmed for FORMALDEHYDE! I saw on the Internet a product called "Keragreen". Does anyone know where to get this done in Dubai? Thanks!

OH. MY. GOSH... I THOUGHT THEY WERE EXTENDING THE ROAD TO SOMEHOW ALLEVIATE THE TRAFFIC COMING OUT OF THE RANCHES IN THE MORNING. BUT THAT WOULD MAKE TOO MUCH SENSE. OF COURSE THEY'RE ADDING MORE HOMES... :-( Just realized I left all caps on. Pardon. Although it does capture my level of frustration quite well! Thanks for the heads up Daza.

It's so funny how nasty people get on the EW forum. Isn't that what this site is for??? People looking for advice and fellow expats lending their experiences to help?? If everyone just googled EVERYTHING, why bother at all with EW?? I'm sorry that the smarty pant's duo didn't like what I was inquiring about. Perhaps I should stick to rants about lack of manners at MOE and questions about where I can find specific grocery items.?! Nobody makes fun of those people. Anyway, thanks to the non-haters (Beebers and flowerhead :-) :-)! ) And flowerhead was right- I was hoping for personal experience advice. I certainly wasn't asking anyone to do web searches for me. And by the way Madge_Gustard, your "5 seconds" of googling and the link that you provided, did not provide the answers I was looking for. Maybe you should actually read the links before you repost them and get all snotty.

Um, thanks?? At captaingerrys, You yourself stated the reason why someone might post the question on this site. Who has time to weed through what "thousands have written"? You yourself "couldn't be bothered". This is an expat forum. People here go through alot of the same things, and can give advice through personal experiences. What I don't understand, is if this thread didn't pertain to you in the first place, why do you feel the need to reply at all??

Thanks ladies. Unfortunately, I know it's bugs of some sort. Totally gross. I read that moth balls are toxic, so since I have small children, I will steer away from those. What a pain in the booty.

Well, it's definitely not jeans, a belt, a countertop or a bra that is causing the damage on our clothes. The holes are on my and my children's clothes on the belly, on the sleeves, shoulders, brand new baby clothes, etc.,. It has to be the moth larvae or this nasty carpet beetle. So, tomorrow I will start the process of vacuuming and disinfecting drawers and cabinets, wash all clothes, etc. Thanks to whoever mentioned the cedar blocks at Lakeland! Once again, an insect problem while I live away far from home- my brother in law in the US has a pest control business!!!

Maybe you have moths? I think you can buy little sachets with some anti-moth stuff in it, which will keep them away. Don't moths eat wool? Maybe I'm wrong. It's cotton clothes that are falling victim. I figured I'd get a ton of responses- like this was a common thing. Bummer.

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT get the Egg Nog that isn't refrigerated. Even though its a good brand, I went against my better judgement in desperation for the ol' nog and rum. This egg nog has the aftertaste of paper. Blech!!

Thanks for the suggestion Tara.k. Where is the Vermont Country Store? Is it in the little mall next to Magrudys Centre on Beach Road (near Jumeirah Mosque)? No. Vermont Country Store is not here. I meant online. ;-). Sorry- shouldve been more specific. As with anything you really want from back home, you just gotta ship it. Do you have an Aramex account? It won't take too long to get here.

We put ours in storage back in the States by accident. I was so desperate to keep it going that I did order one from Amazon and had it shipped here. You can only buy Elf on the Shelf with the books which made it more expensive. Do you want it to look exactly like what you had before? Try looking at the Vermont Country Store. Last year, they had elves...

What I don't understand is why a maid would run away without her passport?? What can she do and where can she go without her passport?? We just started with a maid end of August, and all of these stories freak me out. Also, if its illegal to hold onto an employees passport, then why did immigration ask the one poster why her maid had her passport with her?? Confused... And a little freaked.

Arabian Keys have a solution for this, they did our villa in AR after we had a similiar problem. They replace the existing latches with ones with keys in so you can lock them. Their number is 055 758 2123 if you want to call them... Good luck! Thank you!! I DO want to call them! Gosh, I thought as my boys got older, the child safety issue would slowly become less- not with my boys!!!

I am feeling like I really need to go back to my home country. I am from the US and even though things are tough there, I prefer to be there with my family and friends dealing with tough stuff instead of here with no friends and just my spouse. I miss so many things about home...green things...thunderstorms...shopping where I can find my size...people who know how to drive...stuff like that. I can't wait to get back to the US. That's all I can say... Agreed- all sizes ARE NOT available! My husband cannot find his shoe size anywhere and sometimes, neither can I! We are not giants, so it shouldnt be so difficult...!

Monkeyface: I'm so sorry for your loss. :-( Perhaps joining a grief group would also be helpful. ? Maybe (if possible), you could put up a flyer in your apartment bldg. about starting a walking group on the Palm and your looking for anyone who's interested in joining? You hopefully you could make a friend that way- Just a thought... :-)

Well, i totally understand being homesick or longing for things that you cannot easily have here. I too miss greenery and having a garden. I love to work in the garden, and I have a yard here, however, I planted lovely Geraniums last year and it became depressing watching them suffocate by the layer of sand that would always cover them, no matter how often I would spray them with water. Alot of expats are very happy with Dubai, and that's wonderful- but Dubai is not for everyone. It almost seems like those who have a hard time adapting or have reached their Dubai limit are scrutinized for feeling that way. Why is that?? Some of us came here by way of their spouse's job, and perhaps reluctantly so, but you do it because you want to be supportive and its temporary. Etske: I have only been here for 1 year and 5 months, but I am looking forward to the day that my husband comes home with a bottle of champagne and says, "It's time". So, I get what you're saying. Hang in there! :-)

Isn't a bit odd to have sleepovers at that age? Also- I don't know the size of your maid's room now but all the maid rooms I have seen have been tiny. How can one person live in a room that size? Wouldn't it be too small to have two people sleeping in it unless they are in the same bed?? Apologies if it's just me that can't visualize a maids room as habitable (I've only seen them used as storage rooms or empty) You are right. She had a small bed from Ikea, so they would have to share. I don't get it...

I think they just want to for fun..? I told her I would have to ask my husband. I guess I can just say, "he said no" Maybe in the future, I should just say to her, "you need to ask my husband these questions." Probably would solve that problem. ;-) I'm just joking. My lot are the same and I often wonder just why others have so many problems with their staff. It really does beggar belief at times. I don't wonder anymore. EW has explained a lot to me. Some people should just never have domestic help, that is it basically. If you have always had them then you will treat them accordingly, there really is no room for discussion, it is employee and employer, if you confuse those roles, then you need a wet kipper slap. Ha! I'd like to know what a "wet kipper slap" is!!! Sounds funny! :-)

Ikea also has fold up beds- they fold up in half and are on wheels. The mattress looks the same as what is on some of their other beds and it is very inexpensive.
