Yes, it is very much more pleasant and advanced over there in Malaysia! In fact, it is value for money and shopping is fabulous during Shopping Carnival Month. And most of all, you can get proper 5 star treatment or service in most of the places. My DH loves Malaysia as he feels he gets treated like a "King" every time we visit! ;)
In fact, it would be the best time to go. There would be very few holidaymakers from the MiddleEast region and it is less chaotic at hotels & places of interest/attraction. But then, restaurants would be jam-packed at sunset except for non-halal restaurants.
