Many thanks for your input-- it may be best to move earlier (April) and get everything settled (easier not during Ramadan) and then try to travel a bit in August... Fingers crossed for a school place to free up for the summer term! Anyone withdrawing a Year 1 from a great UK curriculum school?? simpleasabc: Bonjour!

Lamb stir-fry with spinach & feta: http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/11737/lamb+stir+fry+with+spinach+feta You could increase the garlic and omit the vinegar... Also I like the cold feta on top (as per the recipe) but DH likes to stir it in to get a bit melty in the pan.

I do have longjohns (currently on a ski weekend) but am traumatized by the C-string... What if it dislodged and slipped down your trouser leg and fell out in public? Or just lodged somewhere along the way with people saying "what's that on your leg?". Lisa will you try the C instead of the T and report on the experience?

I saw in a post from February: "You can buy the foil-wrapped Philadelphia cream cheese in Spinneys and other supermarkets; you just have to look for it." So maybe try Spinneys? Hopefully a cream-cheese user will read this and report a recent sighting!

If the spread is the one I am thinking of, it won't work! I wouldn't try it or you risk wasting it and all of the other ingredients. I am not yet in Dubai (just planning my move) but I know there is a Carrefour there-- if they carry the French brand called "St Moret" it will work in cheesecake, it is similar to Philadelphia in the US. (It would be in the refrigerated section with the other cheeses.) Good luck!

I think that if you originally did your driving test in the UK and have already held a UK licence, you will be able to get it back when moving back to the UK without having to do the test again. We had a similar situation-- Country A did not recognise licences from Country B but if you could show that you had done the driving test in a country whose licences ARE recognised (and subsequently had swapped it for the Country B licence), they would give you a licence without having to re-do the test.
