hi there my child did the same at the nursery he went - wanted the assistant to pick him all day. his teachers developed a strategy where they would go down at his level and give him hugs but not pick him up. i hope this works for you.

Hi Sugar, welcome to Dubai in advance. your 2 year old would be in a nursery whereas your 4 year old should be in FS1 in a school or nursery. Which school would really depend on where you stay - Dubai is big. My kiddo goes to Chubby Cheeks nursery will be going to Big school in Sept. You can check their website to get an idea of average fee structure.

Hi amina, i was in muscat for one year, my older son did FS2 at Muscat International School. A lot of Omani kids but the curriculum is British. The teacher was from S africa and one of the best he has had so far. He developed very well at the school.

funny how all 'not-so-good' reviews are treated so seriously (and even get deleted - lol) and any good comments are considered as adverts. I think what is a good nursery for my child may not be the best for another parent. I chose ccn as my child's nursery after visiting 7 others, you are rite mummy26 - parents ought to see the place and teachers for themselves edited by Tigress on 08/10/2011 edited by Tigress on 08/10/2011

hi sydney76, welcome to new dubai. the closest nursery to you perhaps is raffles springs. as you may already know raffles has nine locations in dubai and has a good reputation. it is not a full day nursery however as it winds up at 2:00pm. no transportation either. my child goes to chubby cheeks nursery which is also close to you. it is open all day and i am sure you will find their yellow bus in springs meadows area. their is a substantial difference in pricing - raffles is charging 12k for next term, i have just paid 7k at chubby cheeks. this too is british curriculum with native teachers.. good setting... really huge:-) i recommend u pay them a visit

hi the bad news is all schools close to our area have waiting list. my son is Still on waiting list in winchester school for nearly 4 months, they keep assuring me that I will get a place tho they haven't any. Money spend to register on waiting lists is not refundable. My son is also 3+ and is doin FS1 At chubby cheeks nursery. It is a licenced british curriculum nursery. Fees is abt 19500 per annum. Will look for fs2 in a good school early next year. Ur younger child can surely join this nursery. As its close edited by Tigress on 26/08/2011
