SueB report back on how you go. I know it takes a while to see the effects, less us know if it's painful. Good luck!

For men or women. Sometimes Banana Republic have cardigans for women in cashmere. Jumpers for men; I just bought one last week at Jigsaw in Dubai Mall and have also bought one at Galleries Lafayette/Dubai mall. They may also sell womens.

I need to go Umm Sequim area on Saturday, are the roads only blocked in that area around the time the cyclists are passing through, or closed the whole time (11.30-4.30). fool nightsleep mentioned it is a rolling closure. I'm just trying to sort out my day. Looking at the Dubai Tour website it appears they will be in that area from 1pm. Does anyone that know how it all worked today and yesterday

It would be ridiculous for all schools to close on Thursday. In my opinion, only the schools directly affected by the road closures would be justified to close... Anon we don't all like within 1 km of the school. My kids go to school in Jumeirah but I live in Nad Al Sheba, so Thursday could be a nightmare. What about people that live in Emirates Hills, Palm and Ranches and go to school at DC, Kings, Raffels, Star Int, just to name a few, in and around that area. <em>edited by TimTam on 04/02/2014</em>

I think it depends on what triggers your asthma. My DH and DS have less asthma her than back in AUS/NZ during the winter. Cold damp winters play havic with their asthma

It's still pretty much a sure thing for entry to JC. There was some talk when they were trying to move JC but at the moment almost every child from JPS who wants to go to JC gets in without issue. This isn't true as I know children that applied from JPS to JC that didn't get a place, so it's not a sure thing.

As australiajudy says Australia doesn't have IBAN's but they do have SWIFT codes. These are generally a mix of letters and numbers 8-11 characters used for International transfers. Here is an example of Westpac banks in Australia http://www.westpac.com.au/faq/swift-codes/

There is public transport but you would have to walk to the main road, which won't be great in the heat. Check google maps and you will be able to see where the bus stops are. https://www.waslproperties.com/en/property/residential/samari-residences/apartment-r472-310-samari-residences-1.html Not sure if they connect to the metro at Rashidiya. Mirdif City Centre mall is close by and you can taxi there, about 7 minutes and Union co-op and the fruit and vegetable market are behind these apartments. There really isn't anywhere to walk with a baby, very industrial. <em>edited by TimTam on 16/01/2014</em>

Probably a silly question, but any reason you want Geelong? There are some nice seaside places along the coast, but it is Winter. http://www.vueapartments.com.au http://www.stayz.com.au/accommodation/vic/great-ocean-road/geelong http://www.geelongbayescapes.com.au/html/s01_home/home.asp http://www.questapartments.com.au/Accommodation/96/Australia/Victoria_Regional/Quest_Geelong/Welcome.aspx http://www.stayingeelong.com Can't give any personal recommendations as we haven't stayed in any, we use to stay in our house in Anglesea.

Not sure on prices but Grand Hyatt has a residence, right near city hospital, they could walk. Dunes is a little further away, near Lamcy plaza http://www.dunesdubai.com/oud-metha-home.html Otherwise - Arabian Park Hotel http://www.arabianparkhotel.com Near Latifa/Al Wasl hospital is the http://www.londonsuiteshotel.com (right next to Al Wasl club) Otherside of the creek is the newer Jumeirah Creekside hotel I hope the procedure goes well for her. <em>edited by TimTam on 14/12/2013</em>

Dragonmart will have them. I bought some black freshwater pearl earrings a few years ago. Very cheap, can't remember exactly but definitely under 80dhs. I think it is near the lamp section, it's the area where they sell lots of beads.

Ginnee there is no way you would get a mansion on Sydney harbour waterfront for 5.7m dirhams, Australian dollars maybe. What is even more crazy is that there are people who will pay that for them. It's really ridiculous. Without buyers, the prices would go down to a more reasonable level. I could buy a mansion on the Sydney harbour for that!! and you can be assured the workmanship and quality of matierials would be second-to-none!! <em>edited by TimTam on 24/11/2013</em>

I wanted to take mine too :( I thought the first movie was fine (although I did jump in parts) and I watched it with my 12yo. I think it will be rated PG15 due to the violence/fighting. If they have read the books like mine have, they know what to expect anyway. Thor is also PG15. I thought PG15 meant parental Guidance recommended for children under the age of 15. Where as 15+ means only over 15. <em>edited by TimTam on 18/11/2013</em>

I can't see any reason why you can't shop and ship it, just bear in mind you will be charged an import duty if the cost is over USD269 you pay 5% UAE customs duty plus AED60 formalities and AED40 Aramex fee. Some stores here sell the US unlocked iphones, (so you get facetime) not sure how the price compares though. I bought mine in the US when I was there. <em>edited by TimTam on 26/10/2013</em>

The release date from Sony is 15th Nov for the US and 29th Nov to the UK. Not sure when the UAE will get it. All the store generally offer it for the same price, sometimes the extra's they give like games etc may vary between stores. You could ask Geekay here when they will get it, but from past experience they have no idea! Virgin, Geekay, Emax, Jumbo, Sharaf etc will all stock it.

They generally check your iron levels. I don't eat red meat so I need to take them as my iron was very low. Generally taking it pre pregnancy and 1st trimester would be most critical due to development. Don't worry if you are eating a balanced diet and the doctors are happy with your health you will be ok.

People do move again around Christmas time. A lot of people don't tell the school unitl the last minute and also they have paid their fees until Christmas and feel they don't need to advise the school in advance. They don't think of those that are on the waiting list. I do know a family leaving Jumeirah Primary, but I think that is Year 1, but you could try them, otherwise the new school that Kings are opening in Nad Al Sheba. Worth a try, it will sort itself out but I do understand it is very stressfull. <em>edited by TimTam on 03/10/2013</em>

We bought one in, bronzed, about 8kg from Chaig Mai,Thailand, when customs asked us what is was we said a statue and they waved us through. I think shipping isn't as easy. I hope you get it through. Also rememeber if the shipping value is over $300? (I think) you will have to pay customs duty.
