Thanks everyone. I talked to a friend and.... the reason I can't pay the fine on-line is because of the black points. Yes, I have to pay 300QR but at a traffic dept office, in person, so they can scan my card and add the points as well. Lesson learned.

[email protected] found this email address, no idea if anyone is manning it now that the competition is over. I suppose I'm so mad because I stood for an hour just to the buy the tickets, drove all that way, fought to park, walked for ages and still didn't get in! Grrrrrrr :-(

We tried to see the final, three tickets bought from an offical booth. We were refused entry at the gate with hundreds and hundreds of (irritated) others 30 minutes before the game. I do not understand why. Ticket mentions no time to arrive by, only kick-off it 18:00. Very unimpressed with the organisers. Do any of you know what the problem was? Stadium full? Sold too many tickets? Some ticket scam/copying going on? I want to get my money back. Where is the best place to ask? Thanks

I went today to the Motor show at 4pm (friday). I went with all of my 5 children (age 4-8) and got in. We are expats (blonde kids) and experienced no problems getting in. Plenty of children of all races inside...not just Qatari. Having said this though, there are signs outside saying no entry for children...maybe we were just lucky, but as I said lots of kids inside too. Try again later? or perhaps try another door? different guard, different rules? Good luck, it was fun.

I've just come from Den Haag, I've been here for two weeks, driving for 10 days. In this short time I have seen a car reverse the wrong way up a dual carriage way (the D ring). I've seen 5 traffic accidents. I have almost been hit once (by an expat on the phone) and have been lost trying to navigate my way around nearly every day. Driving here is not for the faint hearted. You will need to carefully plan your child's transport. It'll take time to find the right driver. And the right car! Perhaps bring your au pair just to watch the driver does a good/safe job?

My daughter (year 3/grade2) age 8 is waiting for a school place (we are new) in our school of choice (ASD). We, and the school, have no idea how long we will have to wait for her to get in but we are first in the queue/line. Please can any of you give me help about where to send her while we wait (that won't break the bank). Home-tutoring groups out there? Advice and help greatly appreciated. Thanks.
